    Another fine video!
Does snow on the ground reduce the amount of water you must backpack?
Does colder weather adversely affect your alcohol stove? Increase fuel consumption?

I haven’t reduced my water load when I suspect snow is available for a day hike though I suppose you could if you planned to boil it first or melt and filter it in some manner. Cold does have a slight effect of fuel consumption and efficiency but not enough for me to worry about.

Thanks Dave, learning more & more. Always wonder what people want more of though, Trail or Radio Contacts or? What do you think?

To me, brevity is the most important. Because I watch so many RUclips videos, I like them at about 7 to 10 minutes. I like your description of where you're going, some of the hike, and mostly the contacts that you are making because this is an amateur radio video. I particularly like your videos because you're hiking in the mountains. Hope this helps.i'm in Northern California and it would be fun to try to make contact with you on one of your outings when I'm out operating portable. Let me know if this is something you'd like to try.

Hi Dave - I am finding how far behind I have been on my replies and I apologize. I think my iPhone app isn't showing them all to me so guess I can't count on that to keep up.
Thank you for the feedback on the videos. The 7-10 minutes is a great goal for sure and that usually requires chopping quite a few of the contacts. I've even considering only including the first four contacts or maybe that and then any unique ones too but I still struggle with the time line. That is the single biggest struggle I have is finding that balance.
Some trails are just so majestic and I know the video doesn't do it justice but I hope they motivate other to get out there and see it for themselves or live vicariously through my hikes. The radio part is hard to film because it can be boring just looking at the front of the radio and listening to other QSOs but I'm trying to find ways to spruce that part up to make it more dynamic and diverse. Ideas welcomed here by all :)
I'm always down for trying to coordinate a QSO with others! My next outing will probably be on March 5th. Not sure what your schedule is like, but if it works that'd be great! Hit me up on Twitter for a faster connection or shoot me an email at kg6hqd@gmail.com and twitter is twitter.com/kg6hqd . Let's set it up!

Great video once again. Could you do a video for the 20 meter speaker wire antenna?

Hi Jerry, Have you ever used your drone to carry a light antenna wire up to see how the reception might be or to carry a pull line over a very tall tree?

Hi John, actually I have not. I like the idea though but don't have a release mechanism on the drone to pull that off.

Fly a line over the top and down the other side to the ground. An an angle away from the tree so not to fowl the props. Pull of the ant. Can't wait for the next deployment video. Good luck, be safe. JJK retired LEO
