@1:35 that move order with 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 cxd5 4. Nf3, the move you suggested 4.. Bg4 isnt precise because it allows a quick h3 g4 where since white hasnt committed any pieces they can start attacking down the kingside. after 4. Nf3 it is more accurate to play either Nc6 or Nf6 first
@ChessCenturion No its the best move, but generally in the exchange caro you should aim to keep the light squared bishop with the pin to make whites development as annoying as possible. Plus you would be immediately giving up the bishop pair for no real reason
@ChessCenturion in that specific move order d4 is hanging so after h3 you can simply play Bxf3 followed by Nxd4. But assuming you throw in c3 somewhere in there for white to avoid that: the difference is that now when you drop the bishop back to h5 after h3 white cant follow with g4 because white has already spent all their time developing the kingside pieces which means they will be too slow if they want to follow through with the plan of h3 g4 and starting a kingside attack because their queen, queen's bishop and queen's knight are all not developed so there is no hope of castling queenside soon and obviously there kingside is drastically weakened. But if you play Bg4 before your knight, white hasnt committed any kingside pieces and so can start developing the queenside as you develop your pieces which justifies h3 g4
@26:20 if you do play Qc5, your opponent can't play Rd2 because the Queen takes on e3 with check, and you either win the rook or it has to return to f2 (and you still win the, Rook I think).
If you watch Nelsi and Eric they never open the Caro Kann and when it is played against them they tear it apart. But for your sake, I hope you get views and subs.
@ChessCenturion I was curious if he's an iconic figure there, perhaps in the chess community. He was on the streets of London for 15 years then turned author and wrote "The Grass Arena". Chess helped him turn his life around. He also wrote "Coffeehouse Chess Tactics". There also is a documentary movie with him "Barbaric Genius".
@ChessCenturion He wasn't a hustler, however a tournament player. It's not really random, he was part of the chess community, but later left as it was too taxing.
Everybody does the caro kann but it’s good just boring to me, like to see more taimanov/kan Sicilians, kings Indian as well would be cool, keep up the good work

I assume it's bad for black to meet h3 with Bxf3?

Yeah that makes sense, what's the difference if e4, c6, d4, d5, exd5, cxd5, Nf3, Nc6, Bd3 and then Bg4 then?

Welcome aboard bro! Hope you like the other videos too :)
I decided to study the caro kann and this video was released today, what are the odds! Liked and subbed, thanks
Hope it's useful mate! I've got loads more Caro videos if you need more :)
Your videos have really helped me deepen my knowledge of the caro kann, great video too and also why are these 1300s so strong
Haha no clue, might just be 15+10 rapid attracts strong players but I'm glad they help!

Yeah I missed this lol, got a bit spooked
wow! lots of excellent chess knowledge in an hour
Thanks man, I hope you like the other videos on my channel :)
How are these 1300's so good lol, your opponents have had pretty solid positional understanding i think
Not sure tbh but hey they provide a great challenge for the videos so I don't mind!
First to comment! It’s 3:00 AM where I am. I woke up & can’t get back to sleep, so what a nice surprise to come across a brand-new video from you.
Hey man great to have you here as usual but get some sleep my guy 😂
22:26
Whats wrong with f5 and hiding the king??
You'll forfeit the 2 pawns i guess
It's definitely a good shout and I realised the power of f5 later but not sure about that exact position
I think you had to play f5 to create an f6 escape square and sac your pawns?
Yeah that was definitely the play, I did see it but panicked on low time annoyingly
Can you play kings Indian and jobava london 😊
I can do kings Indian but I don't know the London at all lol
Caro Kann is yesterday's news. I can counter it easy, but I don't wanna tell my secrets.
Sounds incredibly real 😂
@ChessCenturion You're goading me to tell you, but I stand firm. I really, really, wanna spill the beans though. To enlighten you.
Go on then big dog
@ChessCenturion I'll give you a hint. It's a counter-opening. I'll give you 5 guesses to what I'm thinking.
Uhhhh the accelerated Panov?
Q to b6 you had fork of check and b pawn
Sorry can you add a timestamp mate?

I mean they're 2400+ players though so it's a bit different
Do you know who John Healy is?
Nope, why?

Dude u know so many random things XD Was he like a chess hustler?
@ChessCenturion He wasn't a hustler, however a tournament player. It's not really random, he was part of the chess community, but later left as it was too taxing.
I don't think we really have many chess hustlers in the UK, we don't even really have many outside chess boards in general
Everybody does the caro kann but it’s good just boring to me, like to see more taimanov/kan Sicilians, kings Indian as well would be cool, keep up the good work
Thanks mate, I don't really understand Sicilian ideas that well but I can do some KID as I know that opening better
rook B8

Average taming of the shrew fan
Caro kann sucks buddy 😂 it's like the ultimate amateur opening 🙄
I meannn I've beaten and drawn against 1800-2000 rated players consistently OTB with it so I'm gonna stick to my guns
