Level of detail in this art is outrageous, I can't begin to imagine how long it took to finish all of the assets.
Someone needs to check the Dev's basement for missing pixel artists being held against their will...

Jesus, this one is a banger! Not only they did a great job animating enemies (in sprites!) and made armor visible, but most importantly they put a great spin on combat. Thanks Splat, I would missed this one for sure.
Are you serious? The animations are janky. The block mechanic requires accuracy and the animation isn't smooth enough to intercept incoming attack direction.

@Agent 33 I mean it does a bit. The parry is incredibly powerful so it being hard is very important. Requiring accuracy isn't a negative as it's just practice. But I agree sometimes the animations are hard to follow but that's just practice to learn the tells.

Sooo this is a Point and Click + Dark Souls, now there is a combo I never expected to see.
This game has a pretty amazing intro, imo. I was impressed with the hero flip.

Honestly love the fact they just strap any new 'hats' to the helmet our Hero is stuck wearing, haha!

This game reminds me of that old game where you're a dragon and you go around doing lil puzzles.. witty, charming... and the combat definitely makes it appealing/challenging-- thx for the show splat; will toss it on my wishlist.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. The art style is awesome, but the fact there's no animation for attacks and you just hit anywhere on the screen drives me kinda crazy. I'm not sure I'd jump on this one myself. Definitely has had a lot of time and care put into it, and that's commendable, but it's just that combat style that really shuts me off.

The combat mechanics are pretty cool in terms of actually parrying enemy attacks and such, although I know I will absolutely suck at it.

This makes me miss the Maniac Mansion/DOTT/Full Throttle/Monkey Island level of adventure game. Good comedy in games is almost impossible to find
Loving the art and the writing. The main gameplay loop is definitely not something I'm interested in though. Maybe if they add an easy mode, I'd work my way through it.

It reminds me of Metal Slug animation. The design seems like it could also be used for a party based game. Reacting to the pixel frames is a great idea.

Game logic: Every once in a while you see a mouse run across the floor. It's rare enough that it might be worth investigating next time you play.

Are the stick and shield you're holding meant to be magical?
Because it seems VERY odd that you can attack right across the screen from your character... especially since you can't loot from a distance.
I think the weird helmet your character has gives them telekinesis.

Great video as always. I see this being a popular game because of the Learning curve and Skill cap but if it doesn't have that replay value it won't happen.
