    Just getting into spitfire and this really demonstrated the instruments are not just for soundtracks and have given me the confidence to start integrating them into my dark pop/melodic house productions.

    I can listen to this all day. Bukem is dope. I live in SoCal and was able to see him perform 3 time. I even got a pic with him. One of the times I drove 6hrs. I never thought I would be this deep into drum&bass. It became neck and neck with hip hop for me.

    808 as sub melody - So Bukem was first ? .... I thought it was Photek (Rupert Parkes) or Goldie (Clifford Joseph Price) .. anyone care to comment?

    • @TheCrowHillCo

      Yes, I think this is contentious but certainly the claim made back in the day by Danny's camp. I never heard him stake it though.

    • @stizan9185
      @stizan9185 Год назад

      I mean an 808 is a bass sine wave with an attack...I don't see how any of those were first

  • @Simeon_Harris
    @Simeon_Harris 5 лет назад

    wow, nice job! incredibly three dimensional (listening here on adam A7x's with a sub) and i think the bottom end was about right. i could certainly feel the 808's, even if i couldn't always discern the note clearly. it will be interesting to hear what others think. my room is quite small and far from professionally treated.

    That mix is intriguing to me. Looking at it on my TC Clarity M there's almost nothing below 50 and absolutely nothing above 4K. Could that be right? It's a tight mix. Listening on the Sundara Planar head phones its really punchy but retains warmth. The edgy highs never go past 4 so nothing is harsh. Theres a lot in 1.5 and 2 but not nasally or honky. I didn't see you doing any hard low passing but I saw brick wall high passing. Very nice. But as I said. I might be wrong about the 4K thing.(I had to run my computer back into itself and use direct monitoring in Cubase to use the Clarity as I have it set up just for DAW monitoring. So this might affect it, but I'm not sure how). If its true I'm gonna try dumping 5 and up and see where that takes me. Splendid! PS. Perfect D&B track. Roni would have been proud! HA!

    There is something sad and unsavoury about the way Christian announces with relish that these cultures have 'long since left the earth'. But now you can mess with their sounds, removed from all cultural context. Great, I guess...
    On the one hand, I'm glad Fanshawe made these field recordings. On the other, I feel uncomfortable about the way they are being used here.
