- Here is the entire flight from engine start to engine shutdown departing Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport and landing at West Palm Beach International Airport. The forward facing camera overheated and turned off before landing at Palm Beach, so I apologize for some missing footage from that camera angle. I hope you enjoy!

That approach controller going into KPBI is bad ass!! No rise in voice inflection and she is busy as hell!! I bow in admiration to her!
That was quite the workload and you guys managed it like real pros. It's like watching the procedures I did in the small plane but 10x the rate and complexity. So fun to watch.
Pilots are badass. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Enjoyed every minute of it.
my wife and I pretty much go through the same routine when we drive to the grocery store.........
You have a bright future in comedy industry
You sir, just made my day. Thank you 😂
Gary Vale 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Does she ask to see the flight plan too?
Last year I was doing an Angel Flight and on the way home through Indiana, I checked in with the local controller and about 20 minutes later I checked out and that was the only communication I heard. I told him it sounds like a slow day and he said "Feast or famine!" Man, this video really shows how busy a "Feast" can be!! Great video!
I am very sorry that your services were need. But we are all grateful that we have wonderful people like you that are there to give freely and selflessly of yourselves when needed. From Wings Over Mid America to the Angel Flights of today, we all thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts!
You guys make it look easy . Only through attention to the smallest of details , experience , and teamwork can that be accomplished .
I was your approach controller at PBI.... hope the service was ok- sorry if I was late on the turn 😉 I’ll be on the lookout for your call sign! Thanks for sharing...
Hey Jamie A! It's awesome to have you on here! We knew you were slammed that day...it's no big deal. You guys always do a great job there at PBI. I think we'll be back in there later this week, hopefully we'll talk to you again soon! Say hi if you see us...
Corporate Pilot Life I will definitely do so! What are y’alls first names? If you ever want to see what it’s like on the other side let me know - bring ya in for a tour...
I would love a tour of the facility! I've never seen that side of things. Send me a private message or email to corporatepilotlife@gmail.com and maybe we can get together! I'm Shaun...the other guy is Jon.
Holy moly Jamie - impressive stuff!! I've been following CPL for a little while now and you are the busiest controller I've ever heard on the channel.
Super impressive Jamie
I started watching this channel to help me with my flying phobia and it's helped me no end. The level of professionalism that these guys show is amazing. Thank you
I really enjoyed this video guys. It was nice to get a little “behind the scenes” footage. This video in particular demonstrates the demanding pilot workload, especially on a short flight. You guys are obviously a great team, and that clearly shows through with your seamless interactions in the cockpit. Just to tag onto a previous comment, I have no doubt that you both run through your
full checklists on and off camera. John even announces when his vision is not trained outside of the aircraft. Even with TCAS, birds and drones are a constant concern. Looking forward to your next video!
Charles Harris the need to stay alive supercedes everything...
Thank You So Much For Taking Us Along With You. What An Incredible View All You Pilots Have From The Front. The Both Of You Work So Well Together Like A Well Oiled Machine. Looking Forward to flying With You More. Thanks & AWESOME VIDEO!
I have to admit, you guys are extremely thorough and don’t mess around. Nice video, thanks for sharing.
Just like a mullet...business up front...party in the back!
Corporate Pilot Life mullet? Geez you must be my age
LOL, Love it..... Another great video.
Excellent CRM.
@D B They flew over some Indian territory. The Indians didn't like them ;)
I’m at a controller at KFXE. Traffic at the airport is up over 12-15% . Always a pleasure talking to y’all. Hopefully to hear myself one day lol
Hey Chris! Glad to have you on here! You guys always do a fantastic job...thanks for everything!
Chris Estupinan between copters, VFR small aircraft, others not communicating with ATC and IFR ( not to mention the weather)I'll bet you guys have to be on your game. Good thing they separate ground, take off, approach and over to tower for landing traffic. Although I know some controllers at smaller airports end up doing a lot of it themselves
Chris, another tip of that hat to you and the team up there in the tower from the boys over at Florida Jet!
Bullshit
Thanks guys for that flight start to finish, looks like you have so many checks through out each flight but you seem to breeze through it as an amazing team, you both work so well together, thanks for all that you do.much appreciated.
Thank you!
Fuck you
Who are you didi
That was superb. Quite possibly your best film. I couldn't believe the workload.
Retired from flying the G IV in 2012 Nice work and you brought back some great memories. It's old but a great airplane.
Mixing it up with chock to chock uncut - nice 👍. Busy, bumpy little flight that one. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for taking us along!
very educational. Loved it. Best part is showing the viewers what you are talking about, ie the flaps. Well done gentlemen, keep it up!
Thanks!
Dove back in to the Corporate Pilot Life. You guys are an incredible team and the Gulfstream is amazing. Very busy short flight. Miss you two!
Wow, that palm beach approach controller was earning her pay check. Great video guys.
Imagine doing that daily and for hours at a time.
Def a busy week last week!:)
They earn their keep.
guys ! Thank you so much.....This short flight with complete procedures from engines start to terminal taxi was a perfect present for anybody curious or found of these birds. Such a workload and professionalism, no TDA allowed ! Not to mention the perfect editing, with new P.I.P etc....you deserve all your subscribers, your success is exponential ! TY again for sharing these moments, with so many humility ! And finally, there's something really "appart" in the N269 livery : this metallic blue reflects all kind of tones from dark irised / deep blue to "bleu klein", depending of the surrounding light and time ! The top class at his best ;-)
Thank you! It's awesome to see people are enjoying these...
@@CorporatePilotLifeSLACKNESS UNPROFESSIONAL
Excellent teamwork and professionalism! I enjoy watching all of your videos.
Coolest video to date and they keep getting better guys. Don’t stop.
Very nice to see you guys working hard from start to finish on a short flight like this. Thanks for sharing !
Very nice teamwork and communications during the entire flight. I like the PIC's heads down alerts.
Hey let just say they are one of the "True Blues Brothers" combos cleared for Corporate Pilot Life! Appreciate you Men
JOHN HOWELL I’m waiting for Jon to turn to Shaun and say, in a very serious tone “we have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses”
I would just settle to see them both wearing the Blues Brothers hats.
JOHN HOWELL that works too
I swear all of the great gulfstream pilots wear a variant of a green polo.
Super professional stuff guys.
15:55 "Feels like a dirt road out here today" -- made me chuckle!
This is your best video yet. I SOOOO appreciate this look into your world. Please, keep them coming!
Huge props to that approach controller.......
MrKiwiFuzz thanks 😊
No pun
It's a joy to watch you guys. I hope you enjoy it too.
Excellent video! You guys are a well coordinated crew, and a pleasure to watch, fly safe!
From an SEL pilot, that was great to watch. Thank you
Man that was a busy radio ! I can't imagine having to deal with the NYC area. Nice vid, thanks.
It's pretty sporty keeping that beauty down low! Great vid! Thanks for keeping us in the jump seat!!
Great video.. Thanks for taking the time out to make it..
All of that headphone noise would drive me crazy. You guys do a great job...
You guys are a great team...
Just wondering, do the two of you own the G4, or are you Top Guns for hire?
Ok. Thank you. Like to watch there vids.
And love the sound of the RR TAY engines.
Had the chance to fly in a G4 3 times. No one else on board. Sat in jump seat. What a rush. Each flight lasted about 1 hr. Both pilots were so cool.
Tail number, 263 S.
Then , same company bought a new Global Express. Got to ride in that too.
They were based out of Teterbourgh NJ.
Shamrock aviation. Great people.
They fly the G4 for a corporate owner mainly, but take charters as well. You have most likely heard of the aircrafts owner, but it’s not really discussed here. I think maintaining a certain level of privacy will ensure our access to this beautiful aircraft. I’m greatful Sean & Jon are allowed to bring us along their travels.
Thanks Scott. I couldn't have said it better myself.
I really enjoyed you showing checking the G- 4 oil and how it's done. As a layman who's only flight experience is maybe riding the Southwest bus once every couple years It really showed the actual workings of how it's done. Maybe you can do a video one day on what's involved with aircraft tires. How you check them, how long they last etc.
Never watched a flight sequence before, i was totally mesmerized from pre-flight to shutdown
Nice! I was gonna ask about the fwd camera, that's what I figured! Maybe you need to add a "camera crosscheck" to the Landing Checklist, Lol...
Three straight days of rain in Pennsylvania for this teacher on summer vacation = Binge watching Corporate Pilot Life
Sheesh that was busy!! Well done Gentlemen!
That ground controller at FXE is definitely a trainee, you can hear the trainer stepping in there as well. Always enjoy watching your videos!
They have to learn somewhere I suppose.
Awesome, another great video, keep it up guys really enjoy. You guys are real pros!!
The G-IV is the Cadillac of Corporate Aviation! It is lacking for nothing that I can think of at this time. Even with the sophisticated avionics you guys still have to earn your money. Very nice job from engine start-up to shut-down. You guys are super! Keep up the good work and catch your next video when posted!
YES YES YES! So happy some videos are back! Today is a great day!
Awesome video. You both work well together, especially on such a short and busy flight.
The only way my life could possibly be better is if my office was in the cockpit of a plane. What an awesome life you guys have...
Whew! Busy all the way. I can see that you two earn your pay checks, especially on flights like that one.
Saying the flying, CRM, SA, communication along with everything else is great or amazing is an understatement. Everything was perfect.
Thank you!
Really great stuff gentlemen, thank you!
Very nice crew coordination. Callouts and flows. Enjoyed the view.
You guys make that look easy
G Monhollen it gets easy when u do it everyday
Thanks for putting some of your old videos back! This is great!!
Man, it's beautiful up there. Enjoyed this vid.
Awesome job! I just moved from Boca Raton. If I had found your channel earlier I would have come watch you guys at the airports. Keep up the great work and videos!
Flew everyday except Wed. out of FXE and its been bumpy 3,000' +.
Great job guys you two are always in sync both of you make a great team. Really enjoy the videos bring back the memories, these short hops give the viewers a good idea how busy it really gets upfront vs. when you do the long legs from Vegas to Florida.
Maybe some time I will see you guys up in O-town when you are here for the day.
Awesome!!!!!!!!
You two have reall good chemistry when flying! AWESOME JOB!
That was a good one. Nice!
That's a bad ass pre-flight you guys blaze through.
Thanks fella's for taking me w/you for your short hop. May I make the suggestion to affix a polarized filter on the rear cam? It would be great to see through the windscreen. What a smooth craft I'd love to fly her. Good-day.
It might be more of a dynamic range issue than a glare issue
The G-IV has a cozy and comfortable looking cockpit. Must be a pleasure to fly.
Good CRM flow
Love Palm Beach approach. Clear and concise instructions!
As others have said this is another time you guys hit it out of the park!! How bout you guys make some gear for sale like shirts and hats?
We've been talking about that...we have to come up with some kind of catchy logo first. It's in the works...
I can picture a t-shirt or hat with "Corporate Pilot Life" at the top, a graphic of a G-IV taking off below that and "vámonos!" below that to finish it off. :)
Corporate Pilot Life The new catch phrase-“ Corporate Pilot Life-hours of mind numbing boredom followed by moments of sheer terror” the like of a pilot
You guy's are very professional. It's very refreshing to see. Excellent checklist usage and crew coordination on the short flight. Keep up the good work. I love it when crews don't cut corners!
Awesome video and is Jon on a diet? he looks like he has lost weight, and if he has let him know i found it anytime he wants it back.
I know you think you're being funny and all but you sound like a fucking idiot, your dad needs the shit slapped out of him
As close as I'll ever get to a biz jet cockpit. You fellas were busy. Admire your teamwork and communication. Thanks!
I see John is smiling more! LOL
Shaun has to edit out the PG13 jokes that make Jon laugh, I expect.
Gentledudes, you are the proverbial you-know-what. Thank you. I am not a pilot--yet?, but I surf different vids and take notes and use X Plane. You are teaching a lot. I appreciate it. Great video.
Another good one gentlemen, what procedure were you performing when you both held a button on the panel while you took turns exercising the yokes?
That's the stick shaker/pusher test. It's the jet version of stall warning. We both have to hold down the angle of attack test to force both side's AOA to the limit. This ensures that the shaker and pusher engage at the appropriate times and that we can over ride the pusher with the button on the yoke.
Thanx
I loved the way you liaise with each other, very smooth communication, great crew. And boy, that ATC was really busy. Thanks for sharing.
Y’all are rubbing off on me! I was landing the other day and before I went flaps 20 I said...speed checks!
HAHA! Awesome!
Best one yet guys. This is the kind of content that I watch as an (almost) commercial multi-engine pilot to study/learn more about multi crew environments and CRM, to hopefully emulate in my professional flying career. Keep up the fantastic work. Hopefully soon, I too can be living the "Corporate Pilot Life!"
Awesome! Good luck with the training and let us know how the progress goes!
What is that whooooing sound when turning on the engine?
That's the sound of true power! You're just hearing it spool up...I left the audio on the wing view camera on for engine start so you guys could hear it fire up.
Hopefully that was not one of the ground crew getting ingested.....😃
The engines are air start off the APU, or if the APU is dead, off a huffer cart. Electric start turbines, like the King Air, make a distinctive whining sound which I always felt like fingernails on a chalkboard
Great to hear that busy controllers voice! I'm a retired controller 4 years now, How I miss it! My wife still yells at me for talking so fast that she can't keep with what I'm saying. And I'm still organizing things in my head, or "stacking" things to do. You guys do a great job.
I studied ATC a bit in college...it is a real skill you guys have. I hope you enjoy the videos, but I hope you enjoy the retirement more!
God damn she was a busy controller in PBI App
Bet she would make a great auctioneer!!
HAHA!
...or an announcer for the legal disclaimers.
Andy, why the poor language?
@Teddy Smothermon An adult using adult language. Problem? Nope. And my friend, the RUclips comment sections definitely not for you if foul language bothers you. :)
Welp, you answered my previous question on another video about the 80kt check. I get it now.
Nice 👍
Such a pleasure flying with you guys ( and gal )....I learn something new every flight...Thank you for sharing.
Where's Francine?? :)
I knew you were going to hit me on that one!! Trust me...she will be back on the channel soon
The whole flight, well I asked you to do that and you have already done. Thank-you guys.
Great videos! One question, right after take off, John mentioned he's "stay outside" for a second. Does that mean he's keeping his eyes outside?
Yep...that means we are keeping an eye out for traffic and not watching the instruments. ATC is supposed to keep us clear of traffic, but ultimately it's on us to see and avoid when in visual conditions.
Hey guys, I received a discovery flight for Father's Day. I did it today and I'm hooked. The instructor too of and landed but I had controls from 1000 ft climbed through 2500. I got to do some steep turns, that hooked me for life! He even let me fly the approach to 600ft.
Do you guys ever do single engine taxi to reduce fuel burn on long taxi's ?
Nope. It can be done, but you lose brake redundancy. If I remember correctly, some guys did that many years ago in a G-IV and lost brakes and ended up in the grass. We always just use both engines.
I see, thats a potentially valid issue right there, but many airliners do single engine (twins) or 2 engine (quads) taxi no problems.
So no electric backup pump on the Gulf? there was a 747 that went in a ditch from loss of brakes on a 2 engine taxi, but they must have forgotten to switch on the Elec / Pneumatic demand pumps on those systems and/or selected one of the other Hyd systems for alternate brakes, then again, cant you stop with the accumulator?
the 747 i dare say is probably the aircraft with the most redundancy you will ever find, 4 Engines, 4 Hyd Systems where a single 1 can fly the aircraft, Backup pumps on all 4 hyd systems, 4 Elec systems. etc etc. A380 would be pretty close with the EHA's and EBHA's it has.
The G-IV does have electric backup pump, but it has to be armed. We also have accumulator braking by hand. I agree that the 747 is an extremely redundant and amazing aircraft.
Is it normally armed as part of checklists when taxing?
When you say Accumulator braking by hand, does that mean the accumulator doesn't power the toe brakes and you have to carefully feather the parking brake to effect a controlled stop? AFAIK all commercial jets accumulators supply the toe brakes as well as parking brakes, after all the entire idea of the accumulator is to give you some brakes should you loose everything else, and ofc to hold them on when the aircraft is buttoned up and powered down.
#Meanwhile Boeing said "Fuck it, lets be different!" and used 100% electric (electro-mechanical) brakes on the 787, and by that there IS NO hydraulic braking at all on the 787, it is purely electric using servo motors. In the 787's case i believe that the Only thing you need for brakes is a working battery, so even without engines / apu you have brakes from the DC Bus, it also means that the parking brake wont bleed off over time unlike hydraulic ones which is quite good for extended parking durations.
I'd love for you to do a technical video in depth on the Electric and Hydraulic systems on the G-IV, because i'll be dammed, i cant find basically anything in depth about the electrical system (diagrams, system rules and limitations, etc) on the G-IV at all despite searching for some time, meanwhile most large jets like the A320, A340, 787, 747, etc there is a ton of info out there on how their systems works.
I think the training facilities keep a lot of that info tightly closed. But you are correct on the accumulator...it only actuates the brakes by feathering the parking brake handle. The electrically powered hydraulic pump will come on in a loss of engine driven hydraulic pressure and power the toe brakes though.
Loved the interaction between you two, the G-IV, and the Air Traffic Controllers! Loved watching the throttle adjustments using (auto throttle?) around 24:20! Very educational! Thank you!
Damn ! John looking awfully casual
LOL. John seems like he is always one flight away from flying in his tighty whities. Good work if you can get it though. I'm not hatin', I'm kinda jealous.
That’s a Sweet airplane!
I really enjoy watching you guys fly together
How long did it take for you guys to be comfortable operating somewhere with such dense radio traffic?
It took a few years of practice. There are so many things to be comfortable with (airplane systems, navigation, ATC, etc). The more comfortable you are with each one, it makes thing so much smoother.
Thank you, gentlemen. Your wonderful videos/tutorials are extremely helpful to remind us all of how incredibly important it is for professionalism to be the most important aspect of aviation. Safety and professionalism. Thank you both for sharing.
I love the full flight video! Now, not only do I get to watch more flying! I also get to see you guys more!! Keep it up 🙂
You guys were a case study in proper and professional CRM!!
I thought I was pretty proficient and professional. I clearly have a way to go.
It's too bad more of we "passengers" haven't seen this video. Before seeing this I would never have known just how much information you pilots process in such a short amount of time, OR, just how much is involved in getting an aircraft in the air. Kudos to you (and of course RUclips!) for sharing. For me - there's no way on GODS green earth I could ever have learned to handle that kind of stress and I'm not embarressed to admit I do not have the mental capacity to handle that much. After having seen this I have a new found and refreshed respect for all pilots,, FLY SAFE gentlemen and again, Thank you again for sharing this amazing video. Awesome!!
Thank you John!
The Dream Team in the G4 :) Another great one, thanks.
Ruff Ride
Great video demonstrating the workload of a short flight through busy airspace.
I wonder you guys really go threw the hole check list when the video is off just saying
Always...and I'm not just saying that. We always do it.
Corporate Pilot Life good one roger over out thanks 🙏 for get back
Corporate Pilot Life I had a family that lived and loved flying, that was my dream I was put down
That's what keeps us alive !! I have flown this leg non stop many times. I really enjoy your videos. Be well !!
Is there an advantage to having a digital checklist vs a paper checklist? Is the digital one "context sensitive" in that optional steps (because of equipment or config) are adjusted to only display what's needed?
