Hey brother!! 22 weeks and I’m hooked now. Love hearing the other side stories that are happening in your life outside of running. You’ve def become more comfortable on camera these past 22 weeks:)) Keep it up brother!
Your videos are pretty helpful for figuring out, getting an idea of how training for an ultra may look like. Thank you so much for your efforts! Nice to see some family time in between btw😊
@@CjayeMedia Just set your forefoot on the edge of a stair and drop all the way down with your body weight. It's the exact opposite of a calf raise and opens up a whole new range of motion in the area.
Keep up the grind. It is always best to listen to your body. In the end you will know you put in the work. There is nothing wrong with taking a few days off in your training block. I had a case if runners knee that took me out for almost 2 weeks. I had about 5 left before my first 50 mile. When it came time to race I still did great.
Let that calf heal & when it gets better Chris hit some trails to get ready for that race. Those shirts/hats say Rocks, Roots, and Ruts ....seeing too much streets & sidewalks! Your calf will do better with more trails.
Thanks Ben. It is a trail race but it’s on a fairly mild loop. I’m hoping that resting it as much as possible between now and the race with allow it to heal.
I’ve always like the wood background used in a lot of podcasts, but not as dark/rustic...I went for a more modern look. I also just saw that he recently switched to a topo map background.
If I can’t get real food then I’ll use a post workout shake but I try to eat a good breakfast since most of my training is in the morning. Eggs, toast, fruit. All depends on how long and hard the workout was.
@@CjayeMedia thanks for the reply! i discovered your channel a few weeks ago and have been following your ultra running documentary in order, trying to catch up! you're definitely helping motivate my training process
Cjaye Media I normally must eat something since I do not do well in long runs with no food. Usually I'll eat a protein bar, banana and drink some coffee and then mid long run I'll get a donut and a Gatorade usually
Chris I Really enjoy your channel. Keep up the great work.
Lessoned learned Rest is ok it works!!! Awesome work Chris

Haha. Thanks Dereck. At some point you just get over the awkwardness of talk to the camera 😂. Thanks for all the support.
Rest is always good if something doesn't feel right. Trust your instinct.
I really like the set! Bright, airy, professional, with a personal flavor!
Thanks Andrew!

Well done Chris, nearly there 👍👍 x
Thanks Marie
Great video & awesome family! I like the new RRR designs! Have a great week.🙂
had to do PT for weeks for foot and calf problems: stair dips helped me the most with the calf.
Thanks Karla! I will add those in. It don’t really do them.

I wish the trails in SoCal were open. It has rained so much this year that they have been closed almost every weekend. Can’t wait for Spring
Cjaye Media
No parks nearby with paths? If rains here don't close trails to runners but closed to Mtn. bikers.
I shouted to the wife his calf is ok.... lol
Thank God!
😂
The workshop area in your garage is cleaner than my kitchen
Hahaha...my wife says the same thing. She gives me a hard time whenever I mop it!
Nice video man!! you should share the wealth and post your training plan that the speed goat gave you. Godspeed!!
Hey Chris try wearing recovery socks they are like magic. Might help you
Thanks Nick. I have some but don’t wear them enough. I will start!
I miss that souplantation
Haha. We don’t go to often, but the kids think it’s a treat to go there. I always end up eating my than I should.
I assume you're doing a trail race, that will probably consistent of more than alot of drops, much larger than curbs. Hopefully your calf gets better.

Background similar to GingerRunner

@@CjayeMedia no problemo. I like both channels ;-). Good job !
Haha. I wasn’t upset. I’m a fan of Ginger as well.
Do you eat or drink anything specific for post runs?

Chris do you normally eat anything of substance before going out for a long run in the morning?
Typically a banana, piece of bread, waffle...something that isn't heavy. Typically a couple hundred calories. You?
