I can not emphasize enough how much I recommend getting an ergonomic mouse! The Apple mouse mouse is very pretty and all, but every time I use it or the touch pad on my laptop, I literally want to chop my hand off in the evening because of the pain. An ergonomic mouse is not the most beautiful contraption, but oh my gosh it makes such a difference. It’s made so that your hand is in a natural, relaxed position - like a handshake 😊

Omf yes as an office worker the repetitive strain in your wrists is no joke!! You should get a carpal tunnel wrist brace, i got one off Amazon and the metal in it stops you making the repetitive motion that's hurting your wrist. Lifesaver. I hope you are in less pain now.

I'm a designer, artist, and writer, so I get that pain in the wrist too. I use a brace when I need to work, take a break if I can, and do the 20min ice, 20min heat press method. I'll also rub some Tiger Balm/Icy Hot/Vick's Vapo Rub on the area as that will get into the skin and soothe those muscles and tendons.
    As for the lights:
The IKEA NYMANE 4 spotlight ceiling lights are $44.99 american
You can also try those paper floor lamps in different spots.
    Wall sconces.
Also, this may sound weird, but there's this "Beyond Bright Garage Light" LED that you can screw into a light socket and it is super bright. We got two for our garage, but only needed one and it helped tremendously.

Maybe a babypink backsplash if you can find it in that color. I think the same color of lighting will make your space feel more cohesive as well! Everything looks so nice! Have to try the method you were talking about for procrastinatros.

As someone that works on the computer all day - it is important to give your hands and back a break. I try to stand up and stress 1 - 2 times an hour as I am on a computer 8-9 hours a day. Make sure if you can to get a wrist rest for your computer station it helps cushion them as the angle of our hands can really mess them up. You can look for a wrist brace if it persists.

  • @GenieGallaher

I get the same pain in my hands and wrists from working as a graphic designer. My doctor said to start using a wrist rest with the mouse and to have my elbows resting level with my wrists. When your elbows hang over the edge of your desk it puts a lot of stress on your hands and wrists. These changes have helped a ton when working on projects at the computer.

When you said how these little things really have an impact on what we do. Omgoodness yes! I have not been doing anything at my computer because I can’t find a comforter chair. And it sounds like you’ve got tendinitis in your wrist. It might be helpful to use a wrist support that you can get at the pharmacy or drugstore. It’ll wrap around your wrist. Also warm compresses help a lot too. Love todays video wish I could buy one of everything! 💕☺️💕

I would constantly get wrist pain free computer work but a workmates wife uses an ergonomic mouse. It's more of a natural way for your hand (holding mouse on side) rather than palm face down which isn't natural. Hope it makes sense :)

I also had issues with my wrist as I spend majority of days on computer and I tried to buy special ergonomic mouse but it still wasn't good enough and then I tried to use my small Wacom tablet instead of a mouse for working and it got much better. It is not perfect for using all the time as mouse is better for excel and stuff and you can't really use it for games on Pc but for office job it is a really a big improvement and I don't have pain in my wrist/hand from clicking. Also if you sit on a stool without a back of the chair then I would recommend some nice office chair with back support. It does make a difference :)

Sleep with a wrist splint (the fingerless ones) to help prevent you from flexing your wrist and fingers at night thus preventing more pain in your wrist. If you are getting numbness and tingling to your first 3 fingers, go see your doctor because that's indicative for Carpal tunnel syndrome which is extremely common in people who do a lot of computer/office work!

I found you around May last year and, after seeing a few of your videos where you mentioned your old studio & how you started, I decided to go back and see all your videos in order, so I could see your journey. I think a few others have suggested a gel pad for mouse and keyboard. I had to try several before I found the one that was just right for me - made a huge difference. I slept with wrist braces and that helped a lot. Doing that I found I did not need them during the day and could manage with the wrist rest. I did eventually need carpel tunnel surgery but was able to delay by 15 years by using the rests and splints. Oh, and taking a break every 20-30 minutes.

I’m not sure how much space you have for your arm on your working desks because it helps a lot to use the mouse with your hand and entire arm resting on the top of the desk and not bending outside the edge of the table, if you get what I mean. You need to have your arm, from hand to elbow, resting on the table while you work, instead of bending, what is very often the case when one is working on a desk too small for the job 😉🤷🏻‍♀️ . In case you work on a desk with plenty of room for your arm to rest and you still have pain, it means you need to take some breaks because the pain is definitely the result of too many repetitive movements....

This was such an uplifting vlog! ^.^ Thank you
I feel like trying to be comfortable sitting at a desk is a daily challenge!
I bought an L shaped pillow over Christmas and I squish it between my desk chair and my back (mid support chair), I find it gives me some lower back support. Regardless of what kind of chair I have I feel like I'm always naturally hunching over, so I figured the cushion would help me to sit more upright, I also use a mouse pad with the cushioning at the front, my wrist wrests on the pad rather than having it float awkwardly in mid air. (bought the pillow + mousepad on Amazon)
^.^ Hope the new chair works out, I'd be interested to learn more about it. I think with this time of year it's difficult to feel comfortable, It's amazing what a little sunlight will do to your mood.
