Recently, we've noticed an uptake in clients selling thru amazon. Some considerations you're going to want to account for in the beginning of the process is that Amazon has very specific requirements if you want to sell your products to their portal and then use their distribution centers.
For example, a couple of those requirements are that you need boxes of a certain size and that it needs to be palletize in a certain way for them to receive them. In addition to certifications relating to specific products. Once you understand those requirements from Amazon, then when you talk to the factories you're going to want to make sure that those factories can either accommodate it or you would need to make an alternate plans. For example, you might find a factory that gives you great pricing on your product but they're not going to put it in boxes that you require or they can't be palletize the way you want. In that case, you need to send them to a fulfillment center somewhere near, hopefully, the Amazon center and they're going to rebox them or palletized them. That's going to add on your bottomline cost obviously.
Or maybe you find a factory with a price that is a little bit higher but they can accommodate your boxes and palletizing. These are all considerations that need to be addressed and work through in the beginning of process so that you don't have a headache down the line. Amazon is a great source for your sales, we have a lot of clients that have a lot of success using it and if its something that you're taking it into consideration you need to make sure that you get all of the information before moving forward with the China factory.
