I live in Dublin, Ed. Glad you had a good time. Primark started in Ireland as 'Penneys' and had to change its name overseas. Wetherspoons doesn't sell Guinness because it would be higher in price than the cheaper lagers they are known for selling, so they didn't want the mismatch.
Or undersell the other pubs. I would have thought they have engineered an agreement here

What a great series this has been, Ed! You've really shown how easy it is to visit some cracking cities on a budget if you just go for it. Tenerife-Lyon-Venice-Paris-Dublin is some cracking luck!
Primark is called Penneys in Ireland because that's the original name, they couldn't use that name when they expanded abroad as US retailer JCPenney have the rights to the Penneys name.

Imagine going to Dublin and thinking it’s okay to try your first Guinness in spoons, so disappointing
Glass screens in showers are a nightmare to keep clean! Shower curtains much better as you can take them down and put them through a washing machine. I work on an oil rig in the North Sea and some silly person decided it would be a good idea to put glass shower screens in the cabin showers…. An absolute nightmare to keep clean!!
I solve that by not cleaning it 😂

I was in turbulance once we dropped and our bottoms left the seats 😮 Panama city florida to Georgia on very small plane about 30 seats. My younger English self nearly had an accident

Couldn’t find answer in comments so had to google. Looks ‘primark’ started in Ireland under the name penneys but they couldn’t use the name Penneys in Europe because of a company called j.c penney so they came up with the name primark for our stores

I would look like to go to Dublin one day. Did you leave the Gunniess to Settle Idk in Ireland but in England the Barstaff usually tell you to leave it to settle. And yes my Dad said Gunniess does go through you and give you horrible dumps.
