Great video I parked my car for a week in the garage while I was doing some work on it. It was also very cold. Started it up and heard this tick

So if my bmw neighbor is revving his engine for 3 minutes straight he’s not just being an A-hole? 😂

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on if you were swearing at your evo working on it in the middle of the night. Haha

Pretty sure all you gotta do is drive but stay off redline. My M52 does the same when oil temps get up there on track. 5-50w and a oil cooler gets rid of it but the tick is harmless.

So what happens next morning? Tick gone?

my engine ticks only when cold, after about 3 minutes when the engine warms up the sound disappears. Do I also need to go through this procedure? and is it necessary to stand still or is it possible while driving at 3k rpm?

I think you need stay stopped, so you dont have any load on the engine.
