Steamdeck are HUGE compared to switch lite, and i got the switch lite for a 160 euro sale, the deck are starting from 450 and still not really available yet. So the two thing are not same category
it's an astounding technical achievement to get doom eternal running on the switch, though i definitely couldn't see myself doing something like an ultra nightmare run on here.

I legit was surprised that it ran well. Sure the cutscenes suffered, but steady 30 FPS through 90% of the game, make it my favorite way to play this game. The switch is rather fascinating how it can run powerful games if you optimize it correctly
Blue point made a nice work optimizing the id tech 7 to run on a x1 tegra chip. But i must say i play this this over 120 fps at 1080p i dont see me playing doom eternal at 30 fps but they done a good job on this switch port.
That's obviously a great technical achievement, Doom Eternal is not that easy to run even on some low end PCs. But honestly, I can't help the feeling that the Nintendo Switch is the last platform I want to play fast paced FPS games on.
I suggest playing this game without broken joy cons on a regular switch, playing with joy cons that have broken locking mechanisms is a nightmare. My joy cons keep disconnecting because the connection isn't good enough. Or just play it on a switch lite and avoid the joy con issue all together
Graphics are OK for a handheld with a small screen but reflections are lacking, obviously they had to make sacrifices, Killzone Mercenary on the PSVita still probably looks just as good despite having running at 544p which is the PSVita native resolution so it's not bad.
After playing it on PC, it is hard to play the Minecraft version on the switch lol, still quite impressed they manage to port such a demanding game on such ancient hardware.

Waiting for Skyline to update until this gets playable, I discovered that I can get really good on almost any controller if I tryhard, for example there's almost no difference in my skill between playing with touch controls or a telescopic controller playing Apex Legends Mobile (gyroscope helps a lot tho), so yeah I think that I can handle even Nightmare mode with it!
Playing Doom Eternal on Switch is such a nightmare. Usually, consoles controllers usually have enough auto aim and make sure aiming is as comfy as possible, but aiming and moving around on the switch, is awful. I don't know why but the joysticks for the switch do not work at all for first person shooter

ID software is probably the best videogame studio that treats their IPs and fanbase with utmost repsect. Their work on polishing their games on all platforms is absolutely outstanding in everyway. Bethesda is dogshit to their playerbase.

It's not actually that bad as it sounds on a 5inch screen believe me, if you care about graphics the most then the Switch is not for you, you'll have to spend more money on another handheld like the Steam Deck or Aya Neo, etc or just go with an Xbox or PlayStation or a decent PC
