Hi Ellen, I dictate 90% or more rather than use the keyboard. But, when I do have to go back and fix the errors that I made, your tips come in very handy that you laid out today. I’ve owned every iPhone and every iPad and you are teaching me many new things and I appreciate it. Not a senior yet, but on the way there! I was wondering if you’re a fan of Macmost videos? He has done hundreds of videos to help people and I never miss one of his videos. His first name is Gary and he puts a new video up every day. He also teaches courses on new operating systems anything to do with Apple products. Check them out if you’re not familiar with him. Take care and thank you again.👍🏻👍🏻
@@EllensTipsForiOS Hi Ellen, I promise you I don’t drink and I’m not a nutcase! :-) I just happen to be going through a lot of your videos as I have the day off today. I’ve already sent you several questions and thank you‘s. I’m going to throw one more question at you to see if you can help me with this. OK, so when I pick up my iPhone and it’s now unlocked, sometimes I put it down at my side while I’m walking to another room or upstairs. This happens all the time and it really is annoying that by the time I get to where I’m going in my home all my apps are jiggling and ready to be removed or moved. I worry that I’m going to lose an app or have apps move on me without my knowledge. Is there a simple way to prevent this/stop this from happening when I’m carrying my phone and it’s unlocked and I’m going into another room or just moving about. Thank you. I might as well ask this as long as I’m here, do you have an email address for your channel as far as where I might be able to suggest videos that you might not have covered? Also, do you ever do a question and answer videos? I’ve only been subscribed for a short time so I’ve just started going through your videos over the last two weeks roughly. Thank you and please don’t feel like you have to get back to me the same day. My questions will slow down… I’m just excited about the way you break things down and make it very easy. Take care. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes that’s very annoying but there isn’t much you can do about it if your phone is unlocked. You probably won’t lose any apps because you’d have to confirm the deletion. You can always sign up for my newsletter at ellenstipsforios.com. I send a newsletter out every week and you’ll have access to my email and I offer a free 30 minute tutoring for your iPhone or iPad. Hope that helps.
I’m not a senior quite yet but I absolutely love your videos! I have recommended your videos to my sister who has a harder time with her iPhone. I recommended the iPhone to her because of all of the different features. But she gets frustrated easily and doesn’t understand how to use some of the features so I have directed her to your videos. She has found them extremely helpful!😁 Thank you so much for your videos!
Before I listened to the video, I was sure I was a reincarnation of Steve Jobs. After listening to it, more like the Scarecrow in “Wizard of Oz”. I will use all of these tips. I’m just surprised I didn’t learn them earlier! Thanks!
Hi Ellen, I find the best way to move my cursor is holding down the spacebar and move to text. Works well when you are correcting type. Thanks for all the great tips. Kindness, Teresa
Very helpful! Thank you, Ellen. Among your awesome videos, is there one for an easily-intimidated senior (one of my relatives) who recently got an iPhone, and is scared to death of it? I live in the north and she lives in the south, so I can’t easily help her. Thanks for any suggestions you might have! 🤗
She might want to check out this video: Top 7 Settings For Seniors on iPhone ruclips.net/video/ne_senvI56U/видео.html and maybe take a look at my website if she prefers reading instead of video. ellenstipsforios.com I also offer a free consult you can check it out on my website. I’m excited for her to get started.
About 500 subscribers have been added to your channel in this week since I commented. My comment was "At least iOS device users must subscribe this channel." But I don't think that my comment was the reason behind it. May your channel grow subscribers.
I’ve used iPad for years but did not know some of these tips. I especially appreciated the information on predictive text and copying from one device to another. Thanks, Ellen.
Hi Ellen-First I want to say thank you so much for creating chapters here. They make viewing so much easier. Good job! Text replacement is so valuable. I hope everybody here is currently using this feature or will apply it soon. Saves so much time for those repetitive words/numbers we all enter over and over
