    What do you mean ANC is way worse on the WFs...
    They both have basically the same ANC performance, although they slightly differ in some pitches... Also the WFs dont fall out that easy...
    Stop Biasing towards the Pods just because its an Apple product...

      It just is, in my experience. Obviously mileage varies depending on exactly what sounds you test with, the fit of the earbuds and the sensitivity of your ears, but in every test I've performed the Airpods Pro can produce almost complete silence in moderately noisey environments whereas the XM3 can't. If I really push the XM3s into my ears they can just about match the Airpods Pro but at that point you're basically just blocking the noise out, not cancelling it.

    I changed my mind, sort of:
    The AirPods Pro: The different cable for charging the carry case really is a pain. I just can't be doing with having an extra cable or adapter. Meanwhile, the convenience of the smaller case I find less of a factor the more I use them, particularly for travel. I still much prefer them for the gym, listening round the house or in the garden, that sort of thing but the Sony's stay in my bag and are better for travel.
    Sony WF-1000XM3: These are revolutionised by the addition of Comply TX-400 tips - thanks for the headsup Adrian Aslani. I retried all the tips that are included with the earbuds and they're either too large to fit securely or don't provide a good enough seal. The TX-400, though, fit comfortably, securely and provide an excellent seal. As such, I've tended to lean towards using the XM3s now for travel, as they're more convenient to charge, have more functionality and sound better. However, three things: 1. You shouldn't have to buy extra tips to make a product usable. 2. The Comply tips are far more inconvenient to fit than the Airpods (you have to roll up the foam, wiggle them in, wait a moment for the foam to expand...), and as I said in the video, these earbuds are about convenience (otherwise I'll just use my custom in-ears, thanks). 3. The Comply tips mean the earbuds don't fit very well in the case.
    Oh, and on the NC debate, it's a no contest. The XM3s passively block a little more noise but the Airpods active cancel much more. I'm sat here now next to a noisey boiler and with my computer playing music over speakers and the Airpods provide almost complete silence whereas the XM3s clearly let some of the noise through. Is what it is.
    Ultimately, as I say in the video, the key point here is that neither is close to perfect. The Airpods Pro suffer from a lack of functionality and basic sound quality. The XM3s are bulky, inconvenient and have worse noise cancelling. If I could have the Sony's performance packaged in the Airpods Pro form factor, then you'd be getting close to perfect.

      No you don't. Why do you think the original earpods are so popular? Convenience and other usability factors are hugely important. Otherwise just go and buy regular earphones - there's a reason I nearly always reach for my earpods pro over my £600 custom moulded in ear headphones (or indeed the XM3s).

    With the comply TX-400 medium tips, the Sony's don't fall out when you workout with them and still work with the charging case.

    • @TechyTalkUK
      @TechyTalkUK 4 года назад

      I'll give them a try (think I've got some on a draw somewhere) but never been a fan of comply tips. They're a pain to fit and tear too easily. For earbuds like these that emphasise convenience (and that can get round the poorer noise blocking of rubber tips by using noise cancelling) I'd always want something a little more robust and easy to put in and take out. In fact, that's something I didn't touch on too much in this video, but the fit of the Airpods tips is so effortless. They almost sit against the outside of your ear canal, rather than pushing into it. This provides enough of a seal for bass response and the noise cancelling takes care of external noise.

      @@TechyTalkUK I hear you on convenience. Putting in Galaxy buds was effortless compared to the Sony's, but it's a small price for me to pay for the sound quality. The complys really do solve the crappy fit though, and give me peace of mind.
      The new update on the Sony's that brings volume controls is awesome, I just wish it made a little beep like the Samsungs whenever the volume increases or decreases.
      These eq settings make the Sony's sound great too

      @@adrianaria696 Thanks for the tip... They Comply made all the difference. They feel secure enough to leave the house in now! They're even better than the Airpods Pro for secureness of fit now, though not as effortlessly comfortable. Just a shame they're even more inconvenient to fit now. And oh so much ear wax... :D

    0:14 "And if you're an iPhone user, the choice is clear; Just go and get the AirPods" Like LITERALLY the most pedantic advice you could have given, ever. Just because the AirPods can be paired with an iPhone 1 or 2 seconds faster than the rest of the earbuds out there doesn't make them automatically a "no-brainer" for iPhone users. There are way better earbuds for the same price that delivers: More comfort, features, sound quality and battery life.

    • @TechyTalkUK
      @TechyTalkUK 4 года назад

      But no noise cancelling... You know, the single feature that is the main reason for this comparison. The worse sound quality is literally the only thing that the airpods pro don't soundly beat the XM3s on, when paired with an iPhone. Thus it's a no-brainer of which of these two to get. For Android, though, the airpods loose quite a few features.

      @@TechyTalkUK No "Noise Cancelling"? Are you talking seriously? The M3's are one of the best noise-canceling earbuds out there for that price. I've tested both the M3 and the AirPOds and the difference is minimal, almost inexistent. Besides that, noise-canceling on earbuds is really pointless when the earbuds themselves give really good noise isolation (for being really close to the tympanum). Noise-canceling is truly effective at low volume levels in noisy environments.
      The "only thing" where the M3 are better (don't mind at all the bigger battery life of the M3) is the most important aspect of a device that was created to listen to music.

    • @TechyTalkUK
      @TechyTalkUK 4 года назад

      Of course the XM3s do. Again, that's the whole point of the video - comparing the two most popular true wireless earbuds that are the only ones with noise cancelling. But you mentioned other headphones... The points you're making suggest you simply haven't watched the video, as I address much of what you seem to be saying. Seems silly to have any further discussion until you've done so.

      So I am an iPhone user and I bought the XM3s. Sound is my biggest priority and I already knew I loved Sony’s app from previous products. I’m gonna go ahead and disagree with you on noise cancellation, I’m guessing that you were unable to get a good seal and that’s why a lot of sound leaked through. For me if I have music over 80% with ANC on then I can’t hear anything but very loud piercing noises. To address some of the other issues with the XM3s: I agree with you on comfort, they’re not very comfortable and it takes some practice to get them to fit in secure. And although their case is bigger, it has never bothered me, it still fits comfortably in my front pocket. Apples Air Pods Pro are still probably better for the average person especially with an iPhone, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the XM3s to people who want better sound and want more customization.

    Whereas in this video you state that the NC feature on the AirPods works way better than on the M3s, the guy (let's call him John) on this video: ruclips.net/video/e_B_RD1S_A8/видео.html states exactly the opposite. Because NC isn't something subjective (in which case it'd better based upon a matter of personal preference), one of you 2 is lying: It's either you or John (and the 99% of people who agree with what he said).

    • @TechyTalkUK
      @TechyTalkUK 4 года назад

      Interesting. I guess there might be a degree of variation in NC performance based on fit but in my tests the Airpods Pro were far better. I sure do wish the XM3s were more comfortable, secure and had better noise cancelling, as they'd be more convenient for me as an android user (with their USB C charging and better controls), but that has not been my experience.
