There seems to be no mention of the types of trees that are being planted. I would suggest that both long lived nut and fruit trees be in the mix. When people harvest nuts or fruits they will have less incentive to cut the trees down for charcoal production.

    They just lack the resources.

They also have a lack of knowledge and education, thanks to slavery and politics. First eliminate the upper class and go back to agro forest. And then take a serious birth control. Haiti is still in the Stone Age.

People here don't know any better.
Of course they know better, but what are the alternatives?
Planting food will go unsold. Low tarrifs and the most permissive trade policy = subsidized imports sold below Haitian farmers' input costs.

I want to know why you guys always go to my country and film the ugly part. When can you guy film the most beautiful beaches we have. And y’all always talk about most Haitian in haiti lives a US dollar per day. First of all in Haiti a US dollar 💵 is like 10 Haitian dollar plus they don’t really pay bill.So $100 US dollar is enough for most family in Haiti to live. In that case which life is harder 🇺🇸 vs 🇭🇹👀

Biodigesters is simple but effective. Use animal dung to turn it into methane gas which can be piped into a house. Also I think the developed nations should help by providing simple solar and wind power energy. Not motivated by guilt, but to help those who suffer from poverty.
