I often wonder what I'd do if I had a lot of money and no care in the world with plenty of disposable income. This is it right here. I don't blame you at all Dave, not at all
I've been enjoying my 2024 M3 LR RWD in Stealth Gray with the white interior. I absolutely love this car! The range and comfort are amazing after coming from a 2024 MY SR RWD (Energy Boosted to 305 miles range). With my trade in of the Y and the tax incentive, I paid $3.4K out the door. I think you're going to LOVE the M3 LR RWD. Can't wait to see the Juniper Y refresh with the same/similar refinements (and more) as the M3 refresh. My 90 year old mother says the M3 is the best car she's ever been in. She's quite petite and enjoys the lower dash so she can see out. Also, she can get in and out easier than the Y and even the Bolt I had before the Teslas. Really looking forward to all of your upcoming videos, as well as all the OOS channels! Thanks again for the super informative and entertaining videos! Edited to add: Only thing better would be a 2024 M3P in Silver. :) Lee
I just bought the long range rear wheel drive Model 3 you mentioned earlier in the video last week. I agree with you guys. It’s an amazing car. I’m so happy I made this purchase.
Just came back from a trip to Andover, MA from Birmingham, AL. Had planned to do the road-trip with my Tesla. Last month did a roadtrip to Milwaukee and Chicago. Easy Peezy with Tesla. But… my wife didn’t want to do another, longer trip via an auto. So we flew to Boston, drove over 1000 miles with an ICE vehicle - ugh! Saw many friends I haven’t seen in some cases +45 years. Pretty emotional. Ended up flying out of Baltimore back to Birmingham. Boy did I miss my EV on the trip. Oh BTW, road tolls in the northeast are outrageously expensive. We don’t have road tolls in Alabama. Dave always enjoy your videos. You guys are great.
I have a 2022 RWD Model 3 with the LFP and absolutely love it. Was looking forward to content with this car. Looking forward to what you get into next. Thanks Dave!
Dave, when creating that next video regarding the Model 3 trim options, make sure to discuss the charging curves for DCFC, and also the difference in on-board charger for level 2 charging at home. I was a bit surprised when my Tesla Universal Wall Charger capped out at 32A on a 60A breaker. A quick Google search helped me determine that my 2024 Model 3 RWD was limited to 32A instead of the 48A all of the other trims supported.
i have a 2023 SR+ Model 3. been looking at the interest rates on these new cars from tesla. considering getting the LR RWD Model 3 myself. Keep us posted on how you like the new car.
Haha, Cathy that’s funny, just a couple days ago I was giving an older lady a ride to my office and when we got out we talked about how we wish my car had "oh shit" handles😁 Mine is a 2017, and I just assumed the new Teslas had them. It's like, why NOT put them in there? I'm sure it’s to save $.90 per vehicle, which I understand wanting to do, but that’s not something that’s unnoticed by most everyone. Bring back the OSH!!😁
Do that drive (to ME every summer). Nice once you get past boston. Like when you drive to FL - you know where your normal stopping points are - and approximately how long you will be there. Big issue for us is once you get north of Bangor - you are very limited on where you can charge.
I feed my dog Dunkin Donut wake up wraps. She loves them. Perfect breakfast for her. It took me a long time to figure out a breakfast we could eat together while on the road. Lunch or dinner is always easy, but breakfast for a dog is tricky! 😂😂😂
@@musk-eteer9898 it’s a lease so maintenance is at Jeep’s expense. Great car for commuting to the train station and back a whooping 12 miles a day. lol
Under powered? Are you joking? Just because you are used to it, the RWD is faster than most other cars on the road that are twice the price! Model X was the best, M3P not as comfortable?
My wife made fun of me getting a new car every two years when we got married. She things every two decades is a better plan. Also, your limited range is better than my extended range. And you still charge at a higher rate.
Second shopping outlet. Would be a good food tasting. You forgot to buy ice cream cones. On my first comment. 200 miles then another 100 to make comparison with 300 mile cost. Can you talk to Kyle about failing to put up out of spec motoring; video? Haven't had one in a few weeks.
7:23 I've heard that the "Kathy-handle" aka "OMG bar" is not found in the 3 & Y because it would interfere with the side air bag.... no idea if that is true or not.
Boomer Dave. The LFP has great passing power. From 30-75mph it really rockets past traffic. Great for getting around old boomers who drive 5mph under the speed limit. Have fun with your new car, and the one after that, and the one after that.
How about mileage to cost. If stop sooner to charge, is it cheaper to charge at 200 miles or 300 miles? You and Kyle can try and figure out how to do this test. Model 3 doesn't have enough range to do this.
Charging to 100% is only to calibrate the LFP battery due to its very shallow volts to charge level curve. The lithium ion battery "Charge to 80% for best battery life" statement still remains.
I’m up to 125,000 km on our model 3 LFP, charge every night to 100%, often arrive at superchargers near 0% and I haven’t noticed any degradation. At 100% it now shows 416km where when new it showed 428. Jeff Dawn has a great video about LFP batteries and why top charging doesn’t affect them much.
Great video, Dave and Kathy. I would like to see you in an Ioniq N. Of course Kyle would steal it for 3 or 4 months, but you could demand the cyber truck. What do you think of that?
My GV60 is now 7 months old with 8,000 miles. Oddly, I have no interest in selling it and switching to a new car. What is wrong with me? Do I need to seek out professional treatment?
You mentioned your issue with the color. Therin lies the reason that's the only color with no addition cost. On the other hand, now charging extra for white (which used to be no extra charge) is a BS move only Elon Musk would make.
Here in the UK white is the standard colour - all others are expensive/ very expensive options depending on colour choice. Doesn’t make sense to me - hence my choice of pearl white on my 2022 M3 RWD.
Dogs love chocolate. My Golden stole and ate a 2 pound box of valentine's chocolates in one sitting. Got home, box on floor, all the individual wraps still in their original placement - but empty. He didn't get sick and wasn't sorry.
30:44 You don´t need a seat belt in New Hampshire either. Someone needs to put the Tesla to the test and find out if it still dings at you when driving without a seat belt in New Hampshire. As it is not required by law, the system should stay quiet. Seems like people in New Hampshire really want to live the way their state motto says.🤣
Love your videos I just got my Model Y in Stealth Gray NJ added an additional $2000 incentive and the sales tax waiver was expiring at the end of the month
