2 of the hip hop legends on here now gone RIP Malik B and Leonard “Hub” Hubbard
I remember when I discovered the roots in 94 from the distortion to static video on rapcity here in Canada. It changed my world forever. So sad to hear of Malik B’s passing. RIP.
One of the best bands. Good instruments and easy to understand not just mumbling
This is why I love the Roots music they alwaysed brought that groovey jazzy creative style
Along with the release of 36 chambers in 93, The Roots represent a a massive shift and change in golden era hip hop, ever changing it for the better incorporating live instruments into their shows and making it ILL!! Easily the best live hip hop group I've ever seen live, I'm forever in debt to them and to what they've given the genre of music that I live and breathe. Hip hop loves you Legendary Roots Crew!! If you're down, say word!
If you are saying word 4 years or later give a thumbs up.
WORD!!!.. LIVE FROM THE 215
WOW, I thought I would never hear Distortion to Static Live. good gawd that is amazing. The legendary Roots Crew, pay the respect
Leonard Nelson Hubbard Rest In Peace
I just watched the Roots at the Montréal jazz festival 2022.
There's a possibility that this is my favourite video on RUclips.
They truly are the LEGENDARY Roots Crew!
Absolutely fantastic performance, old school hip hop, real instruments, old Roots. I wish I could have been there...
Personally i miss the old Roots band!!
Mellow my Man! Fire!
Un tonnerre d'applaudissement pour ce post merci
Wow, watching there stuff from this time, really makes me wonder on what level Malik B would be on now, had he not gone down the unfortunate path that tempted him....but still, the roots are the greatest hip hop group ever, and the fact that their music gives you something different with every new release its not surprising that just about every artist who has a clue about REAL music has or wants to work with them. They're just unbelievable. Its a shame only 4,906 views....niggas are sleeping!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤RIPower brotha Malik B
I was at that show. They took over for MC Solaar who cancelled at the last minute.
Mc Solaar was and is great
@@paulrouhan7288 true dat
Dig it, Jhonny on the spot got the rhythm and the rhyme.
RIP Malik B, Classic!
You know it's old when it's "Question" on the drums.
Thank you
Organic Hip Hop!!!
Gilles Peterson brought them to Europe. They toured Europe before signing a record deal.
this guy is the mayor of groove... what a genius
They had an album on Talking Loud with all these tunes on...
Holy shit I think this is my favorite version of Distortion!
Jazz
Really dope, underrated rappers! This is the original Roots sound. Some years ago, i attended a concert where they only played uptempo music with trombone and shit...... i was so disappointed
I feel you. I haven't been a fan of The Roots for a while now. I miss the original Roots.
So so true this era was their best. I'm so sad I didn't get to see them perform at that time. After Things fall apart, I wasn't really interested in their music anymore. Black thought is still top 10 though.
This is priceless. Please make sure this recording is preserved to the end of time.
Que de la bonne musique 🙏
Super groupe 👍
Thank you for this! I wish there was Datskat and Lazy Afternoon too. Do you want more??!! is one of my favorite albums
いやー、この時代感と空気感最高すぎる
The Roots are HipHop
sounding so good
Would love to get hands at that soundboard of that full gig. Awesome stuff
RIP Leonard Hubbard. Enjoy your reunification with Malik B!
Oh glória 🔥🙏🏽
What the... this is legendary roots crew in full effect... The cause of that: oh shit!
Why aren't hip hop groups this talented anymore...
Its cheaper that way
Because it's about social engineering & dumbing down the audience by pushing inferior talent & negative messages. Believe it or not Hip-Hop was on it's decline around this time. 90s Hip-Hop groups like The Roots the genre alive for as long as they could.....
Who's the woman playing keys?
Nikki o
yeah, I was filming the concert this night
legends
timeless!!
RIP Malik B
Black thought is crazy....
Una obra de arte 🙌💎
#HallOfFamers easily ! This is TRUE Hip Hop!

OMG THAT GIRL ON KEYS I HAD NO IDEA 😍🎶❤️
ROOTS ALL OVER THE WORLD...BLOVE
WHAATT!?!?!? SICK!!
best. ever.
RIP TO MALIK B AND AS OF YESTERDAY LEONARD HUBBARD.
I think he got addictied to codeine and prescription pills. If you listen to "Water" off their album Phrenology, Black thought goes into some depth of the relationship between himself and Malik B and his drug addiction.
awesome :)
