Thanks! I knew I wanted the saw to imitate the ghost ropes, but it wasn't until halfway through recording the video that I had the idea to reference Kloak on the MIDI accordion, and I think it turned out pretty well. :D
It IS difficult, though honestly most of my editing was not about intonation, but rather tone quality - it's incredibly easy for the initial attack to sound very screechy, and the sound doesn't sustain well in the extreme low and high registers, so I had to work on taming them both. My playing after the end of the video is completely unedited to give a taste of how I really sound. XD
Thank you! Though admittedly, it took a fair bit of editing to make the saw sound as good as it does on the final track - I still have a lot of practice to do on this beast of an instrument. XD
That saw is such a nice touch! Don't think I've ever seen a saw cover of VGM before, let alone a saw accompanying accordion! Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks! I know exactly one other RUclipsr who plays accordion and saw (they don't do VGM, though). Now that this is done, I can move on to the next project. ;)
Thank you! This tune has not been up on my favorites from DKC when I was growing up, but it has grown on me in recent years. I knew I wanted to do a tune with the saw this month, and the ghost effects are what drew me to this one. :D
Oh wow! This arrangement you made sounds beautiful, true to the essence of the original David Wise track! I also like the costumes you made with the re-appearing video and sound effects, it's so cool and very espooky! Ah, and that poetic season sunset, well done!
Thank you! The arrangement came together relatively quickly for this project, which was fortunate because I needed the extra time to get the saw playing down. XD
wowee zowee!!! what a rad arrangement that was clearly right up your alley. my brain can barely comprehend how people play guitar but a saw is just aaaaaaaa
This was a fun project, but SUPER hard to get clean on the saw. I feel like bending the saw to get the right pitch is the easy part, compared to making sure you bow at the right position along the saw according to which pitch you're playing, and at the right angle and speed to both prevent horrendous screeching AND allow the note to sustain sufficiently. But I love the challenge and uniqueness of it - it's like an acoustic theremin!
Really well done and imaginative! Love the callback to the spooky floating coats!

This is wild! Love the tune and this arrangement does wonders for it!
Thank you! I had a lot of fun with this arrangement (though learning the saw part was very challenging). ^^
@BrendanVavra the saw looks immensely difficult! Intonation when playing something like that must be crazy.

Oh yes! This works greatly on accordion and the Saw is the spooky cherry on top
I've been looking for an excuse to work on the saw some more - this tune certainly delivered on that (and then some).
that saw playing is fantastic, particularly toward the end.

Accordion to notes I saw something super spooky -- amazing arrangement
Always been one of my favorite VGM tunes, amazing work on this! I adore the use of the saw and effects to emulate the Ghost Ropes!

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed making this project. ^^
Such a clean and cool arrangement! The accordion and saw(!) playing are fantastic! Awesome job!

It can't just be coincidence this was uploaded right before Halloween...
;)
That saw sounded like a million bucks.
ngl a LOT of editing went in to making that saw sound as good as it does (except for the ghost sounds - those are 100% legit)
I love the saw so much. Your stuff is always so much fun!
Thanks! The saw is a tough instrument to tame, but I get a little better with each project. XD
This sounds so good!! I love the accordion and saw and it works so well with the electronics
Thank you! Yeah, I love messing around with electronic sounds that complement the accordion. ^^
@ it’s really cool! The saw is wild too!
Great. I like covers which are arranged different. And you did a fine job. Nice
Thanks! If I'm not trying to do a direct cover on solo accordion, I aim to add something new to the tune one way or another. :)
This is perfect! Love the arrangement and video!
Thank you! This was one of those rare times for me where everything just came together. XD
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks, friend! :D
Love it!
Hey, another saw player! Thank you - though I still have a lot of practicing to do. XD
