Bands evolve and Led Zeps core remained the same, people said the same about Radiohead but I saw them before Pablo Honey and rite up to Pool shaped Moon, and they like Zep "evolved" some people think that means there not as good as before but that's their problem cos its them that cant evolve, viva la music.❤

If Presence came out in 1970 and lll came out in ‘76 ... switch places... then Presence would be so much more well known, more appreciated.
I think it’s mostly the timing of it all.
It was LZ’s 7th studio album. They’d already set the bar SO FREAKIN HIGH (for themselves as well as all other bands).
Punk was coming into the scene.
A lot of factors, but ultimately it was the timing in my opinion.
Looking back now (or anytime from the 90s on) a lot of, if not all of what I’ve mentioned no longer applies and we can see the entire LZ catalog from a different perspective.
I agree it’s definitely the most underrated LZ album.
Achilles alone is just mind blowing.

Funny that many think that Presence is not a good album that their skills were declining. Actually, it’s one of their best, if you’re not just into the radio friendly tunes. It has some of Page’s best playing and some of Zep’s best compositions. Not a bad song on the album. One of my favorites.

Just shows that music critics don’t always know their job. Most of them didn’t know good music from banging on a trash can.

One minute seems like a lifetime
Oh baby, when I feel this way

Well exactly that ... Deliberately played with a little bit of sloppy on it. Just like life, like Rock is supposed to be, a little sloppy, . I love Jimmy and almost everything he ever wrote, I don't really have another word for it other than sloppy. I'm sure it's intentionally done. Probably his trade mark in my opinion. There is a part of Rock life that sloppy and fukked up kinda go hand and hand. Been playing almost 40 years myself and know many of Jimmy's riffs, runs, licks he is the King riff master. I looked it up in the dictionary. Right beside the word" cool "there's a pic of Jimmy. 🤘

Amazing! I have listened to this song countless times. This is my first live encounter with it live. I so much adore the human connection with the instruments than the copy and paste of modern music.

It just gets better and better as the song settles in its groove, with Jimmy's light touch, his tone and the orchestration, it is quite sublime. With headphones, turn it up, and be taken on a soulful trip.

Leave it to a bunch of wizards to cook up some timeless music.
I heard this the first time a long time back, thinking I understood what the lyrics really meant.
Now with how things are in my personal life, I know damn well what the song means as well as how unbelievably potent Led Zeppelin has and will always be.

Saw them at North Charleston Coliseum in 95 in SC. They did a killer version of The Wanton Song that evening.

I think I’m in the minority of those who like Tea For One better than Since I’ve Been Loving You. I just think Tea For One has a much stronger blues noire vibe which I personally adore.

The thing to love about Jimmy is he plays loose and is not afraid to flub a note, he is not perfect but who is able to compose and invent amazing pieces like this one. I have played some mean blues in my day but never some of the cool simple chord hangs and shifts he does, simple but just genius. Best of all time! I wonder if the drummer got a band meeting after this missing some ques, what if it was Achilles Last Stand? Another killer tune off Presence, do check it out, my all time fav.
