I once heard Eric Burden butcher House of the Rising Sun in person. I would have preferred it had he respected his audience and reproduced the art that made him famous. And I do mean art. Like poetry, there are many ways to say something, but not all of them are poetic because poetry is defined by the sound the words make and not the message behind them. Similarly music can be art but what defines it is the sound. I personally have respect for artists who respect their audiences and reproduce great songs like this one out of respect for their audience. You may prefer deconstructing art but songs like this one are worth repeating.
My all-time fav Fab T's track. First saw them at the Marquee, Wardour St, London around '79. That was it: hooked. Even had a crush on Kim way back when he looked, well, a bit 'Pimpy' (as here!!). Have had the pleasure of meeting him before/after a few gigs (The Ferry, Glasgow and The Brook, Southampton UK). What an absolute gentleman. And he looked so hot - ageing obvious agrees with him! Graced us with a photo opp, but I was a little awe-struck, so took it with him and my ol' man - who looked like a taller/bigger version of Kim (just by coincidence) - so looked like his Minder!! Lovely, lovely man. The UK misses the Fab T's - come see us soon xx
Mine got thrown out by my grown daughter. She confessed years later; she didn’t want me with my 2nd husband so she was angry and threw all my stuff out. I forgave her of course.
Yeah I know :P Just find it funny TV shows couldn't let a great band such as the T Birds just play their song haha. PRetty funny watching Jimmie Vaughan mimic his own solo haha.
I know , cracks me up ,but that's what it is , no guitar cord ,not plugged in, no microphone ,there going along with something they already did ,OK so what then ,at least it's blues .
The Golden Age of the Thunderbirds!!
Keith Ferguson laying that groove down on his bass.
Seeing Keith Ferguson with FTB inspired me to get a 1952 P Bass. I had it for 21 years. Good times
Great to see Mike Buck back there on the kit! And Keith too!
One of the best bands ever !!
Fabulous..Kim Wilson can hit every beat while Jimmy Vaughan doesnt skip a beat..great band
Kim Wilson singing into an invisible microphone. Cool! Great song regardless of the odd video production choices of whatever show they were on.
Girls Go Wild! My all time favorite blues album!
The first 4 with Keith Ferguson were by far the best
wow...Mike Buck! Keith Ferguson!
Yep,the original band (from first album) I met Mike after he left the band. He was working at Antone’s Records at the time. Great video! Yay!
Fabulous! 🤟😎
Wonderful band
100 percent agree, white boy blues at its best!!! God bless Texas!!!!
Kim Wilson is a great singer and harmonica player..Jimmy Vaughan is great on that guitar and the beat of the rhythem is flowing out..great band..
Yes!!! - and Keith Ferguson too!
I like Keith's Stratocaster "Bass"!
That’s a 1951-52. 1st Gen Fender P Bass
Jimmie making his statement with the the over the top continuous strumming after the track ends.
Never thought I would see the T-Birds do a show and mimic their recorded versions of their songs. Money must have been good.

BWAHAHA! Keith on upside down stratocaster.
You see? It's all in the hands.
It's not a Strat, it's a Fender Jazz master Bass

Keith obviously forgot to bring his bass.

Mimed to recorded track...very convincing except no vocal mic.
Hold the front page.
How can Jimmie mimic his own stuff if he improvises all the time ;) Did he transcribe his own stuff?
What the fuck is Wilson wearing on his head?
A turbine.
