Mig-29 aged extremely well compared to other soviet models, it can still go toe to toe with its NATO counterparts and remains a viable alternative for most post-soviet arsenals. It was really amazing seeing it during airshows in Germany as it flew next to western aircraft. Sad to see that there will be no further modernization of this fighter and NATO countries sending them off to Ukraine, at least they will finish their life in a blaze of glory in the skies and not scrapped in some dusty hangar.

remember, just because we see you doing things, doesnt mean we learn the things. thats why i really like this kind of video, where you talk about what youre doing to make the situation better. personally as a pilot who often flubs my advantage, its great to get videos on how to fight into disadvantaged scenarios. one of my biggest issues is finding out what to do when plan a doesnt work out. i personally think in gunfights; one circle fighters are generally very unforgiving, being that your win condition revolves around hitting a high aspect shot, and the fight gets worse and worse every second it drags on. do you agree with this idea? or is it much more even to you, who actually is good at dogfighting.
Didn't get a chance to finish the show last night, but I'm glad I came back for the TacView debrief. I really appreciate the training. Awesome vid as always. Thanks to GS once again. Keep the content coming.
Early this time, pretty sure it's going to be great as always. Would absolutely love to see F-35 against SU-57, either dogfight or intercept. I know there are vids on that already but if it ain't GS it aint it, man
I recommend another explainer on countering the offset counter. Like you were saying, an offset circle can surprise someone unfamiliar but when you're relying on that tactic and someone counters it, it's probably equally as surprising for an intermediate sim pilot like myself. Nice explainer on the concept, I'm familiar but still stuck around for the dogfights. That wing snap was stunning.
the two most beautiful fighter jets ever built! never could decide which one I prefer. Its like being together with a gorgeous blonde but still looking at the equally gorgeous brunette or the other way around!
It seems like the MIG29 circles were just much smaller than the f16 and that's why it's been beaten. It's strange to see because usually you expect the f16 to have the smaller circle. I would have liked to see an example of the start of this video where you just fight them in the two circle and get out rated. I've been watching all your videos so I know the previous videos this relates too but it would have been cool none the less. Anyway, love your work GS. Watch all your videos start to finish every time. Keep em coming :)
Suggestion: Maybe make a separate video on all the tactics and terminology with video and/or tac view examples with time stamps? >timestamp< “Two Circle” >timestamp< “The WEZ” Etc Leave it in the description and mention it.
In 1991, in Germany, they compared the instant 29 they got from the GDR with f16, at that time the instant was completely superior to f16 in all respects, even then the MiGs had a system on the pilot's helmet that allowed them to shoot while looking at the enemy.

remember, just because we see you doing things, doesnt mean we learn the things. thats why i really like this kind of video, where you talk about what youre doing to make the situation better.
personally as a pilot who often flubs my advantage, its great to get videos on how to fight into disadvantaged scenarios. one of my biggest issues is finding out what to do when plan a doesnt work out.
i personally think in gunfights; one circle fighters are generally very unforgiving, being that your win condition revolves around hitting a high aspect shot, and the fight gets worse and worse every second it drags on. do you agree with this idea? or is it much more even to you, who actually is good at dogfighting.
Didn't get a chance to finish the show last night, but I'm glad I came back for the TacView debrief. I really appreciate the training. Awesome vid as always. Thanks to GS once again. Keep the content coming.
A long time ago I think I saw that maneuver from round 1 in a book and they called it a "high G yoyo."
Another Gripen vs SU-57 would be amazing! Keep it up!
love it! that was so cool when you made him break his plane
The F-16 wasnt made to fly small circles, it was made to fly around the circles extreme fast. That are two completely different things
учитывайте, что такие истребители, вроде миг-29, могут просто зависнуть в воздухе на одном месте
Suggestion: Maybe make a separate video on all the tactics and terminology with video and/or tac view examples with time stamps?
>timestamp< “Two Circle”
>timestamp< “The WEZ”
Etc
Leave it in the description and mention it.
This was one of the best 1v1s I have seen.
That's some insane flying and very informative. I never knew the mig 29 even stood a chance against the viper.
In 1991, in Germany, they compared the instant 29 they got from the GDR with f16, at that time the instant was completely superior to f16 in all respects, even then the MiGs had a system on the pilot's helmet that allowed them to shoot while looking at the enemy.
Glad ya did the tac view. Miss those
