Hello, Im a licensed Skin Therapist. Before I even look at this video I would like to comment that when I saw the thumbmail, it made me smile. The reason is that I love this guy. I've noticed more and more how he challenges convention and gets into the nitty and gritty. I've learned so much.
Niacinamide is probably my favorite skincare active. I’ve used it in serum form for years, first in La Roche Posay’s Pigmentclar (now d/c’d 😢) and now in their 10% Niacinamide serum. It has refined/ minimized my pores and is the only ingredient that has had a significant impact on my hyperpigmentation/sun spots. Thank you, Dr. Karam , for emphasizing consistency and long term use. I found it took me about 4-6 weeks of daily use before I could see my sun spots fading. I had one spot that even makeup wouldn’t cover and now, years later, it continues to break up into smaller parts and lighter parts so I barely notice it anymore. My overall skin clarity is so much better when I use it, I never want to be without it. Ive tried other products for hyperpigmentation like vitamin c (I do still use it) and tranexamic acid and alpha arbutin without real results. Niacinamide is my skincare hero!❤
My husband has had several skin cancers removed…His Dermatologist recommended that he take ORALLY 1000 mg of niacinimide daily…..The research they were citing, showed that taking it orally will reduced the number of PRE- CANCEROUS LESIONS BY 25%……
My husband visits the dermatologist every 6 months, and has done so for 20 years. Almost every time he has some basal or squamous cell cancer removed. He has had MOHS surgery twice. Two years ago, his doctor recommended he start taking oral niacinimide. It has now been two years since he has had any skin cancers. Although his experience might be considered anecdotal, it is consistent with the research.
Thanks so much! Just started using Niacinamide a few months ago. So glad you did a video on it. Already was using Retin A, Vitamin C and mineral based barrier sunscreen religiously. Your videos are some of my favorites and share them with friends. We appreciate you.
Thanks for the tips! I had no idea niacinamide was so multitasking. I use my tretinoin with my vitamin C nightly. I will try spacing that out instead and see how that goes.
I have such oily skin! Even the most matte products can't hide it for more than a few hours. I used to have normal skin when I was younger, but now that I'm 42 my skin is so oily. Luckily I have no acne issues, but I have noticed my 10% niacinimide really slows down the oil production. It's amazingly helpful!
Erno Laszlo sea mud soap is awesome for oily screen. Marilyn Monroe used the line. I started at 17 and now 62 and have great skin. I use sea mud soap and shake it/foundation won’t use anything else for cleansing. I do add niacinamide. 😊
Niacinamide is and will forever be my favourite active. I tell of my friends to use it, and also the importance of sunscreen EVERY day! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 💕

Ponds Clarant B3 cream worked very well at removing dark spots & you can't find any products w/ 5% B3 ( niacinimide) that costs less. Safe for under eye circles & works faster than the eye creams I've tried.
All those symptoms seem to be from fortified iron overload in the diet over the decades. Just take raw material minerals and copper and donate blood regularly. ❤
I just started niacinamide on my aging skin. For the first time in my life my oiliness and acne has been greatly reduced. I use it with 10% aleziec acid during the day with sunblock.
I took a Niacin tablet, disolved it in water and rubbed it on my face. It turned my face really red. Then I applied some aloe Vera and the next day my skin looked great.
This is why I love using the Trifecta Skincare System. What an excellent skincare school video Dr. Karam. Very educational and informative and I enjoyed it very much. These are the things we need to know about to do our homework. Thank you very much for this video to share Dr. Karam.
Thank you for all of the information that you share. I do use Niacinamide and I definitely see a difference. I am 76 and I think I am doing pretty well for my age. Also, I scrub my face every morning and then use my creamy cleanser. At the end of my shower, I turn off the hot water and rinse my face and body in really cold water and my face feels uplifted and bright.
Thank you for all the education you’ve provided us! It occurs to me that I think of hydrating and moisturizing as the same thing, but realizing it is not. Would love to hear your thoughts on how the two work together. Thank you!

Well the information is solid and his products have these ingredients. However I think it’s pricey so I put my own routine together with other brands. Also it’s his channel so why wouldn’t he promote his own stuff? 🤔
The only concern is percentage. Some board-certified dermatologists like dr Shereene Idriss do not recommend more then 5% since it can cause irritation.
Love your videos Dr. Karam. I will be 81 years young in few weeks. I've been using the Trifecta along with the Polish since the beginning of June, faithfully in the AM & PM I never had a problem with breakouts but I'm having some breakouts recently. Should this be happening, very frustrating. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Trifecta has fragrance. Skin irritant. Niacinamide dries the skin so I can’t use it - my skin is dry mature age 51. I would avoid fragrance and niacinamide in products for sensitive dry mature skin.
I also found myself allergy to niacinamide. I have to find product without this ingredient on my skincare routine otherwise my skin would break out badly.
I would love to use Trifecta and made enquiries about having it shipped to Spain where I live but this was not possible. Hopefully, the Company will reconsider shipping to Europe.
There are way too many actives being pushed for anti-aging . What are the top 3-5 actives you feel would be most effective in anti-aging and should they each be applied as individual product for noticeable results?
My skin barrier was compromised after I suffered an allergic reaction to a high end chemical SFP cream. I believe this sensitised my skin so now there are certain products that just trigger breakouts. Niacinamide is one of those ingredients. It doesn't agree with my skin at all, same with hyaluronic acid. Dries my skin out and causes itchy patches. I don't think all actives are helpful. Sometimes less is more and the simpler the product, the healthier your skin.
Thank you doctor AmirKaram for sharing these wonderful skincare tips. Im from the Philippines, and using barsoap with niacinamide ,may I ask if niacinamide bar soap will help my skin?
Hi Dr Amir🤗 firstly i congratulate you for ALL your uploads you are a genius with healing beauty hands😍😘 secondly i would like to ask what percentage in niacinamide serum is correct? Thanks so much for your time & all the best🙏🏻❣️🙏🏻
Hi Dr Karam ! I truly enjoy your educational videos on skincare and aging gracefully. After watching many of your videos I’d like your opinion on Clarins Double Serum, would you say this is a product to have in my anti aging arsenal or just a pretty bottle full of fluff ? Thank you in advance and I look forward to your reply.
Question; at what point do you layer this with the rest of your routine? I get confused if everything should be layed under vit c, hyaluronic acid, sunscreen and moisturiser 😜
Thank you for this great video! The trifecta looks perfect for me! But also wondered if you could please comment on another ingredient that seems to be all over the place, tretinoin. Should that be a part of a daily routine too?
Hi. Tretinoin is a retinoic acid, a very strong form of retinol, and in the Vitamin A family. Dr. Karam says it is an absolute must in the skincare regimen. I have used Tretinoin .5 strength at night for several years. So yep, you should be using Tretinoin every night on cleansed, DRY skin…don’t apply to damp skin or you could experience an unpleasant reaction. Hope that helps a bit.
Many people dont know this and have been lied to but you can permanently shrink pores. And also do your research on retinol keep yourself up to date because clearly marketing has won over the science unfortunately. Good luck.
Niacinamide made my rosacea worse! Vasodilation and telangiectasias. I don’t get why people continue to claim niacinamide calms redness. Everyone knows about the niacin flush. Some will say niacinamide doesn’t cause this but it absolutely does. I wish they would stop putting niacinamide in so many products. If you are darker skinned and don’t have rosacea maybe you can tolerate niacinamide but I know it absolutely worsened my rosacea. And I always use sunscreen.
Yes! I’m so sensitive to niacinamide and it’s incredibly frustrating to find skincare without it. I will get minor redness but I feel like I have a constant sunburn. With continued use it will give me little bumps. When I told my dermatologist this he wasn’t surprised and said it’s pretty common.
I love you unconditionally. You're my life ❤ I want to have nose surgery, and I'm afraid to trust anyone due to my hearing loss after 4 years of surgery, no progression decreased trendusly. How can I meet you because my trust in you is unwavering ❤ Please 🙏
In previous videos you have recommended that retinol be used at night and vitamin C in the day. Can Niacinamide be used at the same time as either retinol or vitamin C, as it is recommended to be used both morning and night?
How common it is to have a hypersensitivity to Niacinamide? I can't use anything with Niacinamide, have to screen every product that it does not have Niacinamide in it. If one slips by, I start having sensitivity & burning (without redness) on day 2, and on day 3 & 4 I cannot even put on my regular moisturizer, my skin would burn, like it was scraped with sandpaper. Even Vaseline would burn.
I started using Niacinamade and zinc serum (along with retinol) over 6 months ago and it has changed my skin tremendously. Folks think I am in my 20s 😂I am much older than I look ❤
@@s.n.e.8941 I use the cerave sa cleanser, the ordinary’s niacinamade and zinc serum, rosehip oil, ponds face cream, sunscreen, castor oil (at night) and differin adapalene gel (retinol) 2-3 times a week. I just turned 47! No one believes me 😊 I also use a facial steamer a few times a week.

I have rosacea so I am really careful when I use any new product - everyone’s skin reacts differently.
If you have rosacea you shouldn’t use niacinamide because it might cause dryness to some people
Yes! I’m so sensitive to niacinamide and it’s incredibly frustrating to find skincare without it. I will get minor redness but I feel like I have a constant sunburn. With continued use it will give me little bumps. When I told my dermatologist this he wasn’t surprised and said it’s pretty common.
Merci
You explain so well 🥲
I love you unconditionally. You're my life ❤ I want to have nose surgery, and I'm afraid to trust anyone due to my hearing loss after 4 years of surgery, no progression decreased trendusly. How can I meet you because my trust in you is unwavering ❤ Please 🙏
Thank you.
thank you
Thank you Dr. Karim! I wish you could speak to using several things on the face at night.......ie. can I use Niacinamide, and Cera Ve together.
I heard light skinned Asians should not use niacinamide. Is this true?
Why? What do you hear and why not?
I use it every day without fail.
In previous videos you have recommended that retinol be used at night and vitamin C in the day. Can Niacinamide be used at the same time as either retinol or vitamin C, as it is recommended to be used both morning and night?
Thankyou so very much!!!❤❤❤
Where in the roitine and how do I layer Niacinamide?
How common it is to have a hypersensitivity to Niacinamide? I can't use anything with Niacinamide, have to screen every product that it does not have Niacinamide in it. If one slips by, I start having sensitivity & burning (without redness) on day 2, and on day 3 & 4 I cannot even put on my regular moisturizer, my skin would burn, like it was scraped with sandpaper. Even Vaseline would burn.
Me too! My skin will break out badly after using any skin products with Niacinamide! I can’t benefit from it, so sorry.
It’s in everything too! I have to use my actives separately to avoid it
What % of niacinamide do you suggest for optimal results?
I use 10% and it's great! But people with sensitive skin probably would do better with a lower percentage.
%5 is great. Anything above is overkill for me. Makes my skin irritated..
@@aysee.9431which product with 5% do you use?
I started using Niacinamade and zinc serum (along with retinol) over 6 months ago and it has changed my skin tremendously. Folks think I am in my 20s 😂I am much older than I look ❤
@quinmcmullen9437 which one are you using please?
Yes pls do tell us which brand are you using ?
@quinmcmullen9437 which products do you use? Thanks

I need like a 2-3%
Please create video for men's skin care
Loved the video. But please tell me isn’t combined g with vitamin c and niacinamide is too much on the skin ?
I just ordered the skin care from him and it's on the way! My question is do I need sunscreen on days I don't go outside.
Yes! For more info on why, check out my blog post here: karammdskin.com/blogs/expert-advice/5-sunblock-anti-aging-tips-most-people-get-wrong
Hi doctor...just a question.. with niacinamide being an ingredient present in a lot of skincare products, do i need to use the serum or using a moisturiser with it would suffice please?
Will you do a video about licorice root oil?
Hello. Thank you for video! I have a question "How we should clean skin after SPF" ?
Thanks. I have a problema with vitamine B3
I just saw my GP today, she suggested a NAD IV infusion. Would this form of niacinamide work from the inside for the skin? Anti-Aging was not the reason she suggested the IV infusion but would this form have any effects on the skin? Thanks!
