- In this video I turn your basic Subaru Impreza into a capable off-road machine using an Anderson Design and Fabrication 2" lift kit and Sparco Terra 17" wheels! The car drove great after the installation and I still achieved 20MPG+. This Impreza comes with a 2.5 liter boxer engine that still had plenty of get up and go after the bigger wheels and lift!
You can find the lift kit on Anderson Design and Fabrications Website!

I'm getting ready to do this with my 14 forester because I'm a paid on-call firefighter in rural Maine and some of the places we have to go my stock height fozz didn't like especially logging roads or UTV trails during wildland fires and backcountry EMS calls. I bought some 235/75/r15 wheels I'm hyped to get her lifted no more bottoming out going on calls
If you switch to the forester struts it should give you another inch
What about the lower control arms and axle length? This route is much less expensive than getting an actual crosstrek and no cvt. I'm pretty keen on doing this myself. As such, I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.
@@berserkerusmc7613 if you get everything I’m sure it’ll help with dialing in the alignment
@revox7860 So, are you saying that I should get the lower control arms and axles from a forester as well? Are they longer?
I'm running the same liftkit on my Forester SH, combined with Falken Wildpeak at3wa tires. Awesome car.
Just got one of these, thank god you made this video.
Awesome, I’m looking forward to lifting my 2022 WRX 🤩
the lift and wheels made it look so good❤️🔥 great job babe. it was extra fun to mob cuz of the height clearance🙌🏼
Thanks babe! It was so much fun!
SOOOO SICKKKK!!!
Home made crosstrek
Looks a lot better 👍🏽
guessing this would void a new car warranty and dealer would not offer a mod like this
Do your front axles bind at full droop? I’d think they might
Where is the link for Anderson’s website?
I think that this is too high for centre of gravity. Try turn fast, left, right, left on wet and then it happend. But for expedition purposes, without speeding, great.🎉
Gotta 86 those tires ASAP!! Looks weird without AT's
Thinking about installing there 1.5 inch lift kit with 215 65 r16 falken wildpeak trail tires? This is on a 22 impreza.
That should be a nice set up!
How did you add the hood scoop? I was thinking about doing that to mine just don't know if that was an option
You would just need to get a wrx or sti hood and it will bolt up! I was able to find one in the same color so I didn’t need to repaint it
Can you do an off-road video?
I would like to say yes but I no longer have the car! It handled great though and it got me where I wanted to go every time off road.
I'm lifting my 2017 impreza hatchback, are there any tires bigger than 215 65 r16 that I can fit on my 16in wheels with a 2in lift?
I would say that would be a pretty good size for your 2017. You might be able to fit something larger but you might need to make some more modifications. I ran 225/55r17 on mine.
You made a 2009 Subaru Crosstrek 😅
Do you feel like it handles differently with the lift?
Slightly slower with the larger wheels but not too noticeable. Otherwise it feels pretty much the same.
@@DrewRandall Awesome!
Yeah but how expensive?
499.99 for 08 to 11'
Can you give a ballpark of how much this all cost? Including an install price?
Question please, what size tires are you running?
Wow! I was in between getting an Outback or an Impreza hatchback but was worried about the clearance of the Impreza. I was leaning more toward the Impreza as you can get them for about 10k cheaper but seeing this video for sure made up my mind on what to get now. I would love to see a video when you decide to throw some meaty tires on it.
Agreed, Imprezas are great for the price!
Why not get a crosstrek? Much cheaper than Outback and have the same ground clearance as the Outback too
I installed a 2" Crawford lift kit on my 2022 Impreza last year and it too has a manual transmission.
I bet it’s a blast! How does it handle?
I have a 2009 Impreza and a 2024 Outback . I had a game warden watch me come up a river bank with my Impreza he stopped me
and asked "Did you just come from down there ?" I said "Yes sir." he said "You weren't afraid of getting stuck in a car ? " I said "Not at
all it's a Subaru and that was easy ." He just scratched his head and got back in his truck and said "Have a nice day ." Great video . I
may lift mine later on thinking on it .
I mean wouldn't that just be a crosstrek?
Hi Drew, I want to lift my 2016 subaru impreza hatchback, I have some questions: do I need another wheels for it? it ihas wheels 165/95R15, Same log pattern? Please respond me. I want to bring this car to my country and the roads are bad.
Thanks for this video! I’ve had the kit sitting at my house because i don’t have a lift yet. Do you think this job can be done on jack stands?
Yes you should be able to tackle it using stands!
This is a very good video my friend, can you send a list what I need to buy for my 2014 subaru Impreza, thank you very much for your help.
Did you have any trouble with alignment, particularly in the front? After a 2" lift on my 2011 OBS I'm having trouble with camber. Just bought cam bolts for the lower bolt section and hoping the will give me enough adjustment. If you have any tricks or tips that would be a huge help. Thanks
Wicked cool! I bought a 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport with a 5-speed manual.
How does this affect handling?
Handling feels about the same as before, a little more body roll and some added weight with the wheels/tires
were the highway miles still 30mpg + ?
If you are doing a lift that is smaller than 2" , would you preffer to have the subframe alignment parts still?
Love it dude. I think you did a great job! Looks cool.
That looks soo cool!
Hello, how much do you spend on this mod?
I’m debating lifting my daily 07 Impreza for the ability to go off road. I’ve had a few people tell me the juice isn’t worth the squeeze because gas mileage, etc. did you notice any major downsides after lifting?
@@wyattclimb if I remember right I think I got around 20 mpg after everything. It felt a little slower and had a little more body roll but overall still fun and usable
What is the tire size?
What’s that brother
this is exactly the kind of build i was searching for my 1.5L Impreza hatchback, i believe you have the 2 or 2.5 liter N/A engine ? (there is no air intake on the hood at first) if not i think i may have the same model as you with the same paintjob too.
Thank you for showing the process, the quality of the video is really good too!
I have the exact same year and model Subaru, a 2009 Subaru Impreza Wagon 2.5i. I've already ordered a 2" lift kit, struts and Method wheels. I can't wait to drive it in the snow! This is one fun car to drive.
Hey! Love the video!
I have a 2018 Subaru Impreza and want to lift it at least 2”. I’ll look into this kit! What size tires would you recommend? I’m pretty sure I have 16 rims on it now and whatever tire size that originally came on it.
Thanks!!
Have you tried putting on the all terrain tires? And would you be able to get clearance with those? How are the adfs compared to the king springs?
Nice Video! Made my subframe spacers out of 1"-5/8 UHMW blocks if you don't want to buy the kits. I hear hockey pucks work too.
the height u got now is actually factory height of a impreza xv that runs sh forester suspension
Is there a way we can talk more? I have an 07 Subaru and only want to lift the rear it sitting too low I want to put my hubcentric wheel spacers on.
I did adjustable rear links on mine to center the wheel up better. On my 04 wrx wagon i had to do sub frame drop on the front as well plus stering link extension and shift link extension. The exhaust needed to be re worked as well.
What tire set up do you have? I’m trying to do this on I’m 2011 Impreza OBS
do this stress the Impreza Coilover? or is better getting Crosstrek Coilover
How does it feel driving it woth the kit? looks great by the way 👍
She's sick bro! That's my target by end of year
Now add a raptor supercharger lol
What size tires do you have?
Where did you get the wrx hood?
Thats a clean buggy
Nice work!
Thank you!
Wow man. U are amazing
Hey I have the 2009 1.5 R version would an STI/ WRX scooped hood fit onto my car?
I think from 08-14 they used the same chassis on all Impreza’s so it should fit
Thanks for the vid!!
How’s your MPGs after the lift kit, any changes?
I averaged around 19-21
I got a 2012 wrx & i literally used forester struts and it’s perfect, this is a great choice too. May do this also lmfao
I was told no on the forester struts for 08-14 wrx because they lift the car too much. I was going to do forester struts and a rear subframe drop. What are your experiences so far? Good bad? Love to hear your opinion.
