- On Deathwish episode 3 Josh Mazerolle takes the Twin Turbo LS Powered Hilux Rat Rod Pickup truck on a 1500 Mile Road trip from New Hampshire to the Gulf of Mexico. Along the way he stops at Tick Performance for some upgrades and depends on the kindness of strangers along the way for repairs. Will his whatever will fit in my pocket tool kit and the kind folks along the way be able to help him reach his destination? Or will road be too much for the Vague Industries Hilux? Stay tuned and find out. These kinds of road trips make the Roadkill guys look like a bunch of sissies. There is no camera crew in a minivan following Josh around. Just a man, his hotrod, and the road.

So badass! When I was 18. I built a 65 Chevy truck. Ditched the hood. Ran a 327 huge cam with a tr1 edelbrock shoebox tunnel ram intake and velocity stacks. Truck was slammed and I drove it to Boise Idaho from Portland Oregon. Then back to Portland and met a lot of good peeps! Way before you tube was created. Man your video brings back some memories! It is about the people 100%! Awesome trip and thanks for a great video!!
This guy gets it!
Driving across country with no air filters in the rain, you sir have gained +100000 respect
Aint Scared.
Thank You for the ride. Having been in all 48 in a big truck, it’s good too see good people still exist. I made a journey not long ago from coast to coast with no help and no breakdowns in something that had no business ondy road much less cross country. Drove 1500mi with only fuel stops straight and it wore me out especially on a lowered the wrong way pickup truck and no credit card or triple A. Sometimes you’ve gotta get out of the comfort zone and found myself along the way. Kudos too you!
100% agree, happiness lies outside your comfort zone
Glad to see the dream is still alive. I remember when Josh was driving that old blue toyota with a small block. Come a long way with all the internet exposure! Wish I could like this more than once!
He is famous now lol
So good to see this guy actually responds and interacts with people/subscribers in the comments 👌👌 Most channels dont and only care about the views/$$ they get from it... Great channel 👌👌
Have always tried to reply to every comment since this channel started 9 years ago
BustedKnuckleVideo Well cudos to you and the channel. Keep the great content coming 👌👌
Put some RainX on that windshield Son!
The rain just beads right off the thing with any amount of wind...
Trust me, it works great, just clean the glass really well before applying it.
Thumbs up! 👍🏼
PS besides wipers create too much drag... lol!
might have to do that
@Austin Shoemaker ikr! 👍🏼Its great stuff!
28:35 dude, that is SOOOOOO true, get out there and see how its totally not as bad as media tells you. glad to hear i am not the only one thinking that!
EXACTLY!
I travel for a living he is sooooo right......it ain't so bad out there god bless America!
🤣😆😂14:38.... THAT ARM PIT SCRATCH HAD TO FEEL LIKE HEAVEN
for sure
Percs will do that
Love the truck but you are spot on mate, the experience and the people mean way more. Keep living the dream and creating good memories👍
Absolutely
The one thing I love about Karma. If have had a broken down truck or out of gas I have always had someone stop to see if they could help. I always try to help as much as possible unless I'm running late to a meeting or appt. that I definitely need to be at, but I still tell them I'll call or come back if your still in need of help.
Karma is for sure a thing
Thanks Matt and guys for sharing with me what them boys are safe man will see you one of these days
Thanks Todd!
Watched this truck on hoonigan and fell in love with it.. Awesome, not so little, hi lux.
it is a beast for sure, just wait until you see the latest updates made to it.
What an epic adventure so far brother!!! Just found your channel, then found out you're from Dublin NH? I'm in Bennington NH. 👍
heck yeah, check out all of the episodes, we just dropped EP10 last night
It's amazing how welcoming and friendly people are in the South and are willing to get their hands dirty and help you out! If you were around a big city up north or out west they would just robe you or worst!👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
Rusty Wells it’s not like that everywhere. I’ve had people help me all over the place.
2:59 "I think I'm gonna go full Homeless Dave" #BecauseRoadkill
Thats Right
LOVE IT! Can't wait to see more! We need more positive content like this in the world
agreed
Some of the best gear head content I’ve seen in a long time friend. Glad to find your channel and binge watch these episodes! Hope all is well! Makes me wanna get in my project and put some miles on and meet some friends
That means a lot, we have many more awesome episodes coming soon
Josh!!! This series is so great! It's like every moment of my road trip life in punishstang only with turbos instead of kids! I'm about to do a solo trip from San Diego to Kansas, then Georgia and back and I suspect it will go much like this. Kindness of strangers always keep me on and get me down the road
there are lots of great people out there on the road. Good luck!
u need to do more trips like this and show the goodness in ppl
many more planned, stay tuned
Awesome that you meet so many good people. The truck is amazing and is a true piece of automotive art. Just binged watched a few videos and realized it was late! If you ever pass through Nashville let me know! Food/drink on me!
awesome, truck has been an excellent adventure
Car guys look out for each other that's what I love about the hot rod racing community we have each other's backs!👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
Rusty Wells true 👊🏻
Got to be the craziest thing i ever seen..you should call it the death trap.
It's called Deathwish
@@BustedKnuckleVideo its amazing that what it is i love it ..
Got to be the best story I've ever seen on the Internet I'm watching it now on television it's awesome hat off to you
much more on the way
Love the video and Deathwish is awesome i own a 91 Toyota myself that i managed to get running that i managed to drive out of the farmers back field after more then 4 years. Not perfect yet it's still solid and in reasonable condition, Great truck's with lot's of hidden potential.
sounds like a good project truck
"I gotta get a hot chocolate...I gotta warm up..." tip: hold hands over freshly smokin' tyres! 😂 😂
Or on hater pipes
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Do you mean heater pipes? He could run the blow off pipe thru the cab for the next winter trip and call it a heater...😂
No but he needs heater pipes too! 😂
Totally epic. Real people help each other out. I had a 72 C10 straight 6 pickup my fan belt broke started walking older couple pulled up asked what's wrong told them she gave me her pantie hoes. Ran out of gas with it started walking some younger guys pulled had gas can with gas put it all in. So I know what kinda of people are out there nice to see it still there good luck on the way home bro.
good people are out there for sure

Glad you dig it
22:00 that dude said it all

The one twin almost falls backward at 31:02 lmao then plays it off

Theses guys are southern Yankees!
Sick video! This is the guy in the blue 350z with the Spider-Man logo on the hood. Glad you guys had a good time in NC!
lots of good times on these trips
I actually was kinda sad when it ended.. Great vid series!
Me too! Next episode is coming soon so stay tuned!
if you havent fix your wipers try rainX FLUID , it helps alot.
ok
Need to finish that body kit by adding a rear wing diffuser and side skirts and it will look awesome
rear wing....
BustedKnuckleVideo yeah man it goes with the entire body of the truck luck of how you got it now.
It needs it!
pretty sure he wants a wing
I bought my Bel Air from Fat Eric! Almost ready to drive it, not quite the same level as your Hilux, but it's gonna be scary to drive as well
heck yeah keep us in the loop
Man if you put some Rain-X on that windshield you would never need windshield wipers ever
I dont know about all that
Brian Stanberry shiiiiiiit I tried that in my 84 cutlass....shit didn’t last long
that sucks
If you put it on right it'll last a long time then you got a whole bottle of it'll last a whole year but you got to put it on my posh
Fix my truck, give me gas, feed me give me a place to stay and I'll let you sign my truck. Lucky people lol
Life is a Garden Dig it.
This dude was on hoonigan
he has been on there a few times
Just saw you on the hoonigan channel when you were single turbo...well single turbo that only spun when the gas pedal was pushed down...wtf??....anyway cool little truck brother keep up the good work cant wait to see whats next
It's a little more rowdy now
Dude this is so sick wish i found out about this earlier
glad you found us, stay tuned
Of course man!
Never mind watching. Fastest car now with.ya. ute man. Goodwork. And. Keep up the good work
found it!
That guy really tried, the meth got in the way.
atleast he tried
Came from ImperialBeachDad, stayed for the awesomeness! 🤙🏼🐢☠️
lots of awesomeness over here
Next road trip. Come to Costa Rica. We'll be glad to have you here plus we have millions of those hilux here for spare parts
How do you get the truck there?
BustedKnuckleVideo you can send it in a ship if you want. Or come driving it. Its not that far. I came from new jersey once it only took like 7 days only me driving
From new hampshire its only 4300 miles
7 days is a lot of driving
Nothing like having fun
always a good time
you got to love people for helpin .i love america
America is Great, the media just doesn't want you to know that
If you ever swing near northeast Ohio I run a little paint and body shop with a friend if you ever wanna do some crazy colors somewhere or if you haven’t clear coated the sharpie yet
awesome
if you ever cross panama city beach florida holler
will do
Totally saw you in Virginia at a truck stop, took some pictures, things badass
awesome
This trick looks like something you’d see Ken Block drive.
I don't think it's on that level
Nice of Thor to fix your splitter.
with the THOR HAMMER!
that debris you hit on the road kinda sounds like a tire tread tbh. not a whole lot of damage all things considered.
poor truck took a hit
@@BustedKnuckleVideo took a lickin and kept on tickin.
truth
I just dont know how you did all this with no music I mean who needs wipers and heat ..... but music .......holy smokes.... idk how you did it
motor music
Bro that is about the most closed looking dark gas station ive seen. It looks like you got lucky they were even open
most places leave the pumps on
Seen this thing in Somersworth before didn't realize you guys had RUclips
Its a head turner for sure, there are 2 videos up on here of it and more to come
meanwhile in Australia the police or as we like to call them Revenue Australia, they will get you on anything, they will even try to find lose bolts. The funny thing is they are worried about speed, but they don't worry about people using an onramp on a freeway or highway as a normal road merging into traffic at 60km/h... onto 110km/h
that is sad to hear
Subbed , you guys have some great content! Looking forward to seeing more
Welcome!
*Best Part Is At The End Of Day It’s Still A Yota* \m/
Toyota cab with some nice Ford and Chevy parts underneath. They kept the good part!
This Is cool
nice road trip
Solo except for the camera crew
This is mint😎😎😎
nothing like a good road trip
I want that truck!
good luck getting Josh to sell it
Another great video, Josh! Looking forward to the next one!
It was a good trip
12 gallon? Hell my 96 3500 Silverado I bought, some dude installed a 10 gallon tank into it from something. I thought the fuel gauge was broke for awhile, I drive 30 min to work and need gas again... 454, dyna 60, man, I love that truck but I just can't do the 7mpg lol. I use it when I buy scrap vehicles, my 92 5.7 Silverado with the 12 bolt rear gets much better mpg under 60mph anyway.
10 gallons would not last long
Damn I missed you , I live in the Gulf of Mexico
Dang next time, follow Vague Industries on the Gram to keep up
Guy in Dodge pickup realizes a Dodge trans will blow up if it's looked at the wrong way let alone do a burn out !!!!!
cant be scared
My home town Athens💯
👍
Is that Panama City beach Florida you ended up going to ?
Close. Gulf Shores AL
Rain x is awesome when you have no windshield wipers
True
@32:11 Wesley chapel rd Decatur Georgia (east Atlanta)
Hate rolling through ATL
That dark gas station was sketchy as shit!
sketchy is life
Could’ve flattened the splitter by backing over the center part of it
could have maybe
Nice! A 50 gallon fuel cell in the bed is the only thing it needs. Peace!
A 50 gallon cell would help!
How well does the engine run in the rain with the turbos open to pull water in?
runs great
less music more more engine sounds. nice.
another one of you people....
Your voice sounds like Ashton Kusher’s
Not wrong!
What netflic series is this going on
fastest car
Best mechanics money can buy.lol
Love from Massachusetts
Thanks for tuning in
The driver reminds me of the actor on My Name is Earl , the one playing Earl 👍🍺
HA
Muy caliente senoritas.!!!!!! Sounds like fun.!!!!!!!

Hey buddy y'all are awesome I would love to know if y'all can help me figure out how I can put my 2002 zx6 Kawasaki ninja motor on my riding mower

@@BustedKnuckleVideo o OK thank you

What are the chances meeting a pair of twins
Twin Turbskies
No..He Said he was gonna do a 5 Beer.... Burnout...!! A hammer should always be a part of ure tool kit sir!!
🤔👇🇺🇸
5 beer burnout
You must have hit a rock or scrap metal for it to bend that much
it takes a beating coast to coast
why not put rainx on the windshield lol
too cheap
Why didn't you race the ppl with 8secs street cars
what do you mean?
@@BustedKnuckleVideo the ppl that bought your hotel room that u said they had 8 second street cars and it would make a good vid u racing them
Was that 87 octane or are the pumps backwards lol
backwards
What kind of gas mileage does that thing get?
smiles per gallon
smiles per gallon
Your ride is hot as f*** , like it....but why did you dont hook up simple 2 water pipes and some radiator from jukyard into the cabin and get heat? Its pretty simple
because aint care I guess
@@BustedKnuckleVideo sounds fair enough ☝️ good luck dude and have your wheels keep spinning 🙏
Thanks for tuning in, more epic adventures on the way!
beer cap > washer
washer is steel and on an aluminum radiator... no bueno.
Plus a flathead makes a perfect hole for a zip tie.
true
13:20 did he say he works for hoonigan. Wyd lol
He doesn't work for them lol
LMAO @14:58....holy shit bro
Kids plz don't do meth
he was just trying to help
@@BustedKnuckleVideo I have a huge amount of respect for you brother
It takes a special kind of person to hop in a vehicle like this and drive across the Country.
What's that about 6 miles a gallon..
its measured in smiles per gallon
How do you not have a show on TV?
that is a good question. The problem is TV shows try to take advantage of you so we would rather put the show on here and PRIME so people can enjoy them without it being all fake and commercialized
@@BustedKnuckleVideo
Yeah I can understand that. I love watching what you're doing.
petrol on burnout marks.... thank me later
good tip!
