The constant screen shaking and rumbling really adds weight to this MU making it really feel like 2 big bodies clashing

I hear this match up is very nice for Goldlewis. Can someone explain to me why? I'm reaaally new to GL and struggle quite a bit against Pot

Goldlewis has better normals. Pot normals reach further yeah, but are slower.
Pot has an immense hurtbox which make him more susceptible to typhoons since BT's are fully disjointed.
With certain amount of security bar, GL can control the stage better due F.B.D (flick) doesn't always work like it should do.
Also has better mix. GL can do high/low mix fuzzies and strike/throw mix due guard crush.
Most of the times Pot must punish GL mistakes. If GL doesn't make mistakes, Pot will have a really hard time.

I'm not a Goldlewis main, so I'm not too familiar with his buttons and pressure sequences, but the matchup being in Goldlewis' favor mainly has to do with roundstart, neutral, and Potemkins defensive options. Roundstart is probably the best state for Potemkin in this matchup despite it being an RPS (Im not sure if it's in Goldlewis' favor, but it probably is). The neutral game is a struggle for Pot because if Pot uses slide head, Goldlewis can jump in and will more than likely press for offense. If Pot doesn't use slide head, then Goldlewis can set up his drone, forcing Pot to respect the drone and Goldlewis. Of course, Pot can fingerflick the drone, but there's still some risk too this (0:50 and 4:26). In addition, Pots buttons are very committal with long startup and recovery. And when Pot is on defense, he has no options. The best thing Pot can do is push Goldlewis out with FD or IBFD and punish accordingly (like 2D) or to disrupt Goldlewis' pressure with an armored move like slide head or hammer fall (this is meaningless when Pot has low health or when Goldlewis has meter). And I guess Pot can super PRC too.
And I know you're knew to Goldlewis, but if you struggle against Pot, then you either struggle at neutral, pressing good offense/advantage, playing defense, or all of these (it's probably all). Plus Goldlewis has weird inputs as a result of his Behemoth Typhoons, but you'll get good inputs in a matter of time and practice.
