Shannon Harris yeah this must be really nice when you’re scared or anxious. 💜💜💕💕 I need a Dan in my life. I’d also love to hear how they balance sharing worries in their marriage.
I live in Lebanon..Well I DID. We lost our home last week there due to this tornado. We are displaced right now from it, our home is a total loss & will have to be rebuilt, but luckily we are in a temporary home. I can’t even begin to explain the feelings that come with experiencing something like this. Pictures really don’t do justice! Every time I drive back to my neighborhood I feel shocked all over again. We went there yesterday & I had to leave because I started to have a breakdown. It’s truly traumatizing. I’m so thankful to be alive and that my little family is safe. But I wouldn’t wish anything like this upon anyone. We are getting more storms today and we are all just so terrified and want to get in the car & drive the opposite way. The PTSD from this is REAL. Thank you for showing this footage and spreading the awareness of how hurt Nashville is.
So thankful you all are okay. As someone who lives in a hurricane prone area, one thing we are often told is safe during tornados is to get into the bathtub (if it's one that's mounted to the floor) and then pull a mattress over top of you. This is supposed to be very protective. Closets are also a great option as there are no windows in them usually. Laundry rooms can also be good for the same reason.
Thank you for sharing this. I lived and worked in East for several years and just moved to Murfreesboro with my husband and baby six months ago. It is heartbreaking to see the damage but also comforting to see the community pulling together so much. Take care and squeeze Logan tight ♥️
As soon as I heard about this tornado I immediately thought of you, Dan, and Logan. I am happy to hear you 3 and the doggies are ok. I can't even imagine how scary it was and I am so happy your mother instinct kicked in. So many more prayers for all the families affected. God bless you and your little family ❤️
Thank you for actually walking around and showing the area. My dad grew up in East Nashville and my brother still lives over there. I recognized so many of the buildings. So sad that that area is having to deal with this again. The storm in 98 did so much damage. So glad you are safe.
So glad you all are safe!! 💖💖💖 Storytime: April 1998 - I was working in downtown Nashville in a building on Commerce St. Through our large glass windows, I saw the sky go from thunderstorm-grey to baby-poop-yellow-brown, and the nasty funnel cloud approach our direction. So glad you guys are safe! I’ve lived in the Midwest (Indiana) my entire life and my biggest advice is to always take shelter and I highly suggest doing it when it’s in the town ahead that way you have time to collect animals and gather supplies and blankets/pillows. Also there is a box/radio you can buy from the national weather service (I think its national weather service) and it will wake you up through ANY slumber when it goes off (might not be good for baby Logan but safety is more important). It saved my family on multiple occasions especially as storms come through at 2AM etc. Also don’t leave your shelter if you hear the sirens stop only leave shelter when you’ve gotten the all clear via radio, news feed, phone, etc. Some university has been finding research suggesting that tornado alley is shifting East and this just furthers their data 😮
I live in Nashville as well and it is so beautiful to see the entire community of Nashville and the surrounding area come together in times of need. So glad you all are safe. 🙏🏻
I’m from Nashville as well and luckily my house is okay. I was working that night at a hospital in the Hermitage/Nashville area and the tornado went right by us and we were told we were going to get hit over the radios but super thankful we didn’t somehow, the tornado didn’t hit the hospital. Definitely a God thing cause it’s path ruined everything else right next to us. Glad y’all are safe and super thankful we live in a state where there are SO many people so quick to help. 💕
I live nashville and this tornado hit my house in north nashville. I am just so sad that it’s gone as a wall was ripped off and so many others as well. I am terrified to sleep myself now since we literally had no warning. And all me and my roommates just happened to wake up at the same time due to a weird feeling. So glad we and you all are okay!
I'm glad you're all okay. An acquaintance I follow on Instagram lives in East Nashville too and he showed the damage done to his house and showed how everyone was coming together to help one another which really spoke the community you all have. It's crazy to think that I live in North Texas in a city that is considered part of tornado alley, and I have never experienced a tornado close to my community, so I never really considered it an issue, but seeing your video shows how the unexpected can happen at any moment.
My family was in a tornado on 11-30-16 and lost pretty much everything. I lost my childhood home and birthday presents since my birthday is 12-03. I live in East Tennessee. My cousin goes to school at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville and I am so glad he was okay. I had anxiety when this happened because it brought back flashbacks of my experience. My mom is still dealing with pain from the tornado. She broke her neck and had a C2 and C4 fracture. God is amazing everyday. I know my family has a purpose on this earth because God did not have to save us from that. I am praying for Nashville and Middle Tennessee!
Oh my gosh, my boyfriends sister lives in nashville and her home was in the path of that beast. She had part of her room and the whole side of the house ripped up, all the windows were blown out and her trees are gone. It was insane the damage we saw on facebook, thank god you guys are safe ❤❤
I’m a fellow Nashvillian! WE ARE NASHVILLE STRONG! Also, welcome to the volunteer state! I’m sure you’re learning what it’s all about! No criticism, but as some one who has lived in tornado country my whole life... if possible 1) basement 2) bathtub 3) closet SO GLAD YOURE OKAY! YOURE AMAZING
Maris Fullerton me too! I’ve been here for all of the bad tornadoes floods etc. it’s time that the city comes together and stays this way. Everything can be taken away in an instant.
I use to live in the Inglewood area of East Nashville and I still remember our first tornado. It touched down just on the other side of the river from us. That was around 15 years ago at this point and I still have my tornado check list and I don't even live in Tennessee anymore. If there's even a hint of bad weather my shoes are on and I've got jeans on just in case. So glad you guys are ok!!
I live in Cookeville and the damage here is absolutely awful. I'm so glad you guys are ok! Tennessee is an awesome place to live! Thanks for sharing your story!
Thank you for sharing Nikki. As a fellow east nashvillian, it was nice to hear someone who went through the same thing share the story. Love your videos and God bless you guys. Thank God the death count was low. It could have been so much worse.
My family and I just drove from Colorado to Georgia to visit family. We had just got through Nashville and stayed the night right outside Nashville because of the weather. I told my husband, “Hey, one of my favorite RUclipsrs lives in Nashville!!” ...You guys were also my first thought when we saw the news the next morning! Glad you are okay! Prayers to all affected! 🙏🏻
My town Cookeville also got hit pretty hard, Lebanon got hit hard as well as Baxter. It’s all very sad to see how bad this has gotten and how much was destroyed. So many friends looking for pictures of their family and trying to find belongings.
@@Lea1999888 you going to tell the Lord God Almighty to calm down when He casts unbelievers into Hell? It's not just the flu. It's not just storms here and there. It's Jesus knocking at the door and time is almost up. Choose your free will wisely. Repent, His kingdom is at hand.
So relieved that y'all are safe. I checked your IG stories as soon as I woke up to make sure your family was safe. Sending prayers and love to your community. ❤️❤️❤️
I live in East Nashville too, I’ve been in Nash for over 10 years, including the big flood of 2010, and I’ve never been so scared of a weather event. We’ve never had anything like this. Nashsevere is the absolute best!!! The warning came once the tornado was already down. I had been up too because I follow him and knew it could get wild. But even so, they never expected anyyything of this magnitude. So so scary. So thankful you guys are okay ❤️🙏🏻 so heartbroken for the destruction and loss of life. Nashville is an incredible community of people and I know we will all come together and serve our hearts out and rebuild together.
I’m so so so glade you all are ok. One of my BF’s from school lives two miles from where this hit. Their house is still standing but they’ll need a new roof and new landscaping but they’re alive and for the most part their home is still standing. Sending love and prayers your and your towns way. ❤️🌈☀️
I just found your channel from this video. I live in Germantown and have had such a hard time processing all the damage in my neighborhood. My apartment was fortunately spared, and I am glad you guys are safe too!!!
So glad you guys are safe! I thought about you guys when I heard. Praying for Nashville. It's such a sad event but I've seen so many things about people coming together to help each other. Nashville will get through this, you guys are a strong city. I'm glad there's ways to help donate online because I live in KY and am unable to volunteer. Nashville is near and dear to my heart, so I wanted to help out in any way I can.
I live in Lebanon. It came through really close to my house. The convenience store close to my house was destroyed completely. I could see it and hear it. Terrifying to say the least. But growing up in the south. I have sadly been through things like this before, it never gets easier but I am able to handle the trauma of these storms a bit better than when I was young of course.
Praise God that you are all okay. As soon as I heard about it, I thought of you. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. I feel so sad for the people in Nashville right now. Love you.
I moved to North Texas, just below Oklahoma 6 years ago from CA. I get so much anxiety during tornado season. We have had some good years where it’s not that bad but more likely than not, we’ve had some crazy scares. I’m glad you guys are safe.
Growing up in the south I’ve seen more tornadoes than I can count hit my city! I’ve seen them touch the ground, known people who’ve lost everything, the sirens go off multiple times a month during t season every year. So glad your family is ok, you guys were the first ones I thought of. It’s always a scary experience but from what I can see East Nashville has pulled together to help rebuild so quickly, it’s a really beautiful thing to see communities join hands to help those impacted. 🤍
I'm glad you guys are all okay. Tornadoes are SO scary! I woke up to see a bunch of friends in my hometown where I grew up sharing about a man who also grew up there was killed in this tornado. :( It's so surreal to hear stories and know that someone you kind of knew in real life was involved. My heart goes out to everyone who lost loved ones, businesses, and more.
This gives me goose bumps. I live in Eastern Ontario Canada and on September 20th 2018 (I remember the exact day as I had just had my best friends funeral) we had a tornado touch down in a small town just outside of my city it then lifted and retouched down in the province of Quebec and took out a suburb of that city as well as 2 other small micro bursts in other parts. We never get tornadoes and don’t even have sirens. Then in may or June of 2019 we had another smaller one hit the east side of city and damage a couple hundred homes and buildings. We’ve always had warnings and watches growing up but never any actual tornados. It’s absolutely terrifying I’m so glad you guys are okay ❤️
We lived in Tuscaloosa on April 27th when the EF-4 tornado happened. Even though it didn’t hit our homes, places not even 2 miles down the road were completely leveled. Places we’d been going to our whole life were completely destroyed, people we knew lost their homes. It was horrifying and traumatic. So much love to y’all’s community ❤️
I live in Dayton, OH. We went thru some bad tornadoes last year. Was out of work for a little while even. Coworkers of mine lost their homes completely. So glad you guys and your sweet baby are okay. Prayers for those who were not so lucky.
Long road ahead for Nashville, Dallas still looks like a war zone from the October tornado. Sending everyone there my love 💕 so happy you and your loved ones are safe!
Thank God you’re all okay! I can’t imagine how scary those situations might be (we don’t have tornadoes in France) especially with babies 😱. Sending you my love 💙🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing this with us, Nikki! I thought of you and Alexandrea Garza who also lives in Nashville. Natural disasters are so tragic. So glad that you and your sweet family are safe. Wishing you peace, light and blessings!! xo 💛🙏🏼💗
Oh, that is so sad. 😔 So glad you all are ok. 💖 I'm praying for everyone in and near Nashville. 🙏 My husband's house was destroyed by a tornado, here in Florida, when he was a teenager. Thankfully he and his family had gone to a family member's house, so they weren't there when the roof fell in. 😩 Being a Florida native, I've spent plenty of time in closets and have done drills with my kids to teach them to listen right away if mommy says to get in the closet. It's a weird balance of teaching them the seriousness of the matter, yet not freaking them out too much. I was glad to hear that the babies weren't crying. 💖🙏
I was just in Nashville a few weeks ago, this is so devastating :( I was worried about you guys after i heard it happend. So glad you are safe and that your home didnt get hit! My heart Breaks for those who lost everything
I was there 2 days after it happened for the first time and it was devastating to see. We stayed near your church in an Airbnb and we couldn’t get our money back. My boyfriend and I raised over $500 to donate to the local families. It was so hard to see and I was thinking of you while we were there. I’ll continue praying for everyone effected especially in this very scary time! Glad y’all are okay!
I live in TN and it’s been devastating. It’s good to have a container in your safe spot of things for when tornados happen. We always keep flashlights, bottle waters and snacks. Tornados happen all too often here!
Omg Im so glad you are all safe 😭❤ You can have a storm shelter built in your garage. Its crazy ..they do it underground and its like a little safe room in the garage. I think it cost a couple grand. Just thought I'd share..I know TN isn't known for tornados but might be good for peace of mind ❤
I live in NC and we get tornadoes all the time, especially at night. I have no joke been in loads of tornadoes and it never gets better. Biggest reason that i want a basement or some type of cellar for that reason. Glad you guys are safe!
I live in and was born and raised in Oklahoma aka Tornado Alley. I feel your pain and I am sending so many prayers to everybody in Nashville. #PrayersForNashville ❤️
So glad you and your family are ok! Thank god for that! About 6 years ago I had a tornado go through my neighborhood and it hit my house, everything was demolished. Luckily I made it out safe. I live in Michigan and we do not get many tornados here. So so glad to see you and your beautiful famiky are ok!❤
We’re in Dallas. Back in October when my son was only a month old several Tornadoes touched down in one night. We were hunkered down with baby for sometime too. So glad y’all are ok! Sending recovery vibes to Nashville, Dallas is just finally finishing clean up🙏
Omg hearing you say how you grabbed Logan and went in the closet made me tear up. I can only imagine the fear you must have felt. Thank God you guys are ok, praying for everyone affected by the tornado.
The first thing that came into my mind when I heard the news is your family. I am from the Philippines and we have insane storms here and I know how scary it is to be on that situation. I know Nashville will recover from all of these. God will always provide. Keep safe and to everyone there in Nashville, stay strong. 🙏🏻
My heart goes out to the families that were affected by the tornados. A few years back my town in (Joplin) Missouri was hit by a tornado and 158 people lost their lives. It was devastating. We had to rebuild our whole city. It really brought our community closer together though.
I have an old friend that lost everything except their lives, thank God. They were in a linen closet with a mattress on top of them and their two daughters and thats is all that is still standing. I live in northeast Arkansas so I’m very ‘used to’ tornados. Will totally build a safe room when we build a house. Praying for everyone!!!!! I cant imagine how this will change so many lives.
I am so glad you guys are okay. My 83 year old Grandmother lives down there in TN, I was so scared for all down there. I have been keeping in touch with my Uncle down there, he said it's a lot worse than it looks online. I will keep praying for everyone down there 💖🥰🙏
So glad you guys are okay! Like so many of your subscribers, I thought about you as soon as it made national news. Sending lots of love to your family and Nashville.
You were the first person I thought of when I heard about the tornado. I'm so glad you and the family are ok. Prayers and positive thoughts for your community
8 years ago this month a series of tornadoes hit my area. One went right over my sisters house (spared it) and took the roof off a hospital and then destroying downtown. I was sitting in my car when the storms hit and the wind was moving my car across the parking lot. A dear friend of mine lives in East Nashville. It was heartbreaking to wake up to see his posts about his community.
I live and teach in Mount Juliet and the tornado destroys schools and homes less than a miles away from my home. I thank God for his provision. If this had happened during the day, thousands of students and families would be gone. Heartbreaking. But I’ve been here my whole life and one thing I know about my city is that nashville always comes together when tragedy hits. So proud of our community.
My best friend works in midtown and left work at 1am, not knowing she was driving through it. It was the longest hour waiting for her to wake up to text me back the next morning to let me know she was okay. So scary, happy you guys are okay! I am coming to visit her in two weeks, do you guys know any volunteer places that we could help out at for a day?
I’m sending you and your beautiful family love, light and blessings. You were the first person that I thought of when I heard about the tornado. I was praying for you and waiting to know how you all were. Hugs. 🤗
I immediately went to IG to try to see if you guys were ok. I am so so glad that you are, but so many aren't. It is awful. I am praying for everyone in your wonderful city. I went through an F3 in 2015, it was in the field in front of our house. Myself and my three kids were in a closet, we don't have basements in coastal NC, and my husband stayed on the porch the entire time. I asked him what he was doing he said watching the tornado, praying and willing it to not turn towards our home. I have PTSD because of it. Anytime I hear our weather radio I can feel my BP go up. So so so scary. And when you have children........forget about it.
I live in the really tall glass building downtown and it looked like the end of the world on that side of town that night. Looking out my window right now I can see where it’s completely dark in the area that the tornado touch down while the bright lights of Nashville shine all around it. Prayers for all those affected in any way. 🙏🏻
Last May, we were within 5 driving minutes from the Memorial Day tornadoes in Dayton, Ohio. Even though, we didn't have damage, the neighborhood I work in was devastated. I am glad you are safe.
I am from Moore, OK. I know the feeling of living through a tornado. I was one block fro the tornado on May 20 that was an F5. It was terrifying. I was still at work (Elementary school). We just held kids and prayed and sang songs to keep the kids calm. Our district lost students that day. Our new prek center is a storm shelter. I had no idea if my own child was safe at her elementary school. People kept calling saying it was headed directly at my school. Students didn’t get picked up until nearly 9:00pm bc power lines were down Nd you couldn’t drive anywhere, if your car was spared. Also gas lines were leaking so streets were blocked off. It’s terrifying. I’ve weathered several tornados. There is a t least one a year but not like the F5 8 years ago. I am glad you safe and doing well. Praise God!!!
I was thinking about you guys. Tornados are so so scary. When I was in college at the university of Iowa in Iowa city in the like 2005 ish a tornado came through and tore up our campus. A gas stations gutters went throw my apartments window, and the tornado went right down the Main Street of campus. It was absolutely terrifying. Classes were canceled for like a week straight. It was so so so scary. I’m so beyond happy that y’all are okay. I was thinking about you guys and sending you’re family all the thoughts and positivity. I immediately thought of you guys when I heard about it. Give the baby lots of cuddles from all of us, lots of love to you guys and to all of East Nashville and areas affected by this tornado. 💜
As a fellow Californian who has never experienced that before I got choked up listening to you describe it and seeing the devastation. I’m so glad you guys are ok! How frightening
You don’t sound dramatic at all! I live about 2 miles from East nashville and I was so scared! It was happening so fast, I am so glad you and your family are safe ❤️❤️
So sad but so glad you guys are okay. I can completely understand what your town is going through. Look at the worst damage of your town and imagine that for your entire COUNTY and then some. I went through cat 5 hurricane michael in october of 2018 and the devastation is still awful and apparent to this day. I hope East Nashville can recover quickly and stay strong as a community.
My husband was just down there for work last week Friday. And one of his coworkers messaged him the morning after it happened cause the building that they train in was actually completely damaged from the tornado. Faithfully the coworker is fine he actually slept through the tornado.
So great to see you guys are ok. I’ve watched you for so long. Many prayers for all affected! 🙏🙏🙏 I was raised and lived in SE Ky all my life. You never think it will happen to you. God is good! Sending love & prayers! ♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been close to two tornadoes in my life. One was in elementary and we were driving back from King’s Island and had just missed it by about 20 minutes or less. We almost hit a cow in the middle of the road and fences and a huge tree block the whole road. We had to park at a neighbors and have my dad come pick us up because so many trees were down. And a neighbors brand new garage was just gone. Second one was as a young adult at my parents house. It was late and it got so silent I could hear the sirens going off in town, and they live out in the country. I woke my parents up and my dad wanted to check outside while my mom, niece, and I was headed to the basement. The wind had picked up and the alert went out in our phones. I went back up to get my dad at their back door. When him and I went to go back down to the basement it went dead calm no sound and flashes green across the sky. I’d never seen my dad get worried about a storm until that night. Which totally freaked me out. Thankfully the tornado hit north of town and did monitor damage to some farms.
So thankful y’all are ok! I heard and immediately thought of you guys. Again so so so thankful you’re ok. Praying for family and friends and others❤️🙏🏼
The company I work for has an office in or near Nashville and it was hit really bad. Unfortunately there was a person working as the tornado came through and they didn't survive it. It's crazy to see how much damage is near you guys. I'm glad you and your family are safe!
I get nervous with the blizzards and that’s a normal weather thing here in Montreal. I can’t even imagine how you felt with a tornado right there. So glad you and your family are safe 💗
I love how calm Dan is at all times. Such a calming presence.
Shannon Harris yeah this must be really nice when you’re scared or anxious. 💜💜💕💕 I need a Dan in my life. I’d also love to hear how they balance sharing worries in their marriage.

You guys should consider building a concrete storm shelter!
So glad you are all okay❤️ I can’t imagine how scared you were through. Praying for everyone affected🙏🏼

Time to do something about climate change
I have been praying so hard for you all to be ok. Will watch later. Just so relived to see you on here safe. 🙏🏻🤍🌸
You guys were my first thought when I heard about the tornado. I'm so glad you and your sweet family are okay ❤ God is good
It’s so beautiful to see our community come together in such a devastating time. I am so glad you all are okay. ❤️
It breaks my heart for all the damage and all the lives lost. I am so glad that your family is ok!
My heart hurts so badly for Nashville! So glad you all stayed safe! 💙💜❤️
I was in east Nashville till the night the tornado happened. I was so grateful to just miss it. Praying for everyone involved
So glad your family is ok👍🏻Prayers, love & strength for all those people who are rebuilding their homes, businesses & lives in Nashville 🙏🏻❤️
I am from Nashville as well. I live near where it hit. It was such a scary night. I am glad y'all are okay.
I live in Nashville and work in East Nashville. It's devastating. I'm devastated. Thank you for showing this.
The. Lord has your family’s back. Thank Goodness your safe along with hubs and baby Logan. God bless.
I live 30 mins from Nashville and I’m still speechless. Seeing the videos of it rolling through town was mind blowing. Go glad y’all are okay!
The first thing that came into my mind when I heard the news is your family. I am from the Philippines and we have insane storms here and I know how scary it is to be on that situation. I know Nashville will recover from all of these. God will always provide. Keep safe and to everyone there in Nashville, stay strong. 🙏🏻
So glad y’all are safe! I highly recommend a NOAA weather radio, they are lifesavers! You can get them on amazon!
My heart goes out to the families that were affected by the tornados. A few years back my town in (Joplin) Missouri was hit by a tornado and 158 people lost their lives. It was devastating. We had to rebuild our whole city. It really brought our community closer together though.
So thankful you guys are well and unharmed. Praying for those who were affected by the tornado!
I will keep praying for everyone down there 💖🥰🙏
This just breaks my heart! I’m praying for all of you!
I am so happy that you all are okay! I had been praying that you’d post a video update. ❤️❤️
I am so relieved to hear you all are ok...it is just devastating and sad ... prayers for Nashville and everyone affected by that storm 🙏
Happy you guys were safe🙏🏻. I have lived through a Tornado and it’s not something I ever want to go through again🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’m sending you and your beautiful family love, light and blessings. You were the first person that I thought of when I heard about the tornado. I was praying for you and waiting to know how you all were. Hugs. 🤗
My niece was effected she goes to med school there. You were one of the first ppl I thought about. I'm SO glad you guys are ok ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘xx
So heartbreaking! So glad y’all are safe!
Oh, and tornadoes absolutely sound like freight trains. 🌪
Hendersonville here. But I grew up in East Nashville. So many people I know affected glad you guys are ok. 🙏❤️
The flashes are a warning. I would have been spooked too. I have heard one tornado. It wasn't far from our house. Scary.
Kelley Cooper yes I know! lol Thats what got my Dad so worried too. 😂 I still see it as vivid in my mind today and it’s been 10 yrs since that day.
So thankful y’all are ok! I heard and immediately thought of you guys. Again so so so thankful you’re ok. Praying for family and friends and others❤️🙏🏼
I’ve had multiple nightmares about tornados... I wouldn’t even know what to do. So crazy. I’m sooo glad you’re okay 💕
I’m so happy your family is okay! I’m sending love and prayers to your area from Alabama ❤️
Oh my gosh God had his hands around you guys for sure!! Praying for Nashville ❤️
Sending positive and healing vibes to you and your family AND everyone in Nashville that were affected!
