  • We take a ride to Burke's Garden in Tazewell VA, just a hop, skip and jump away from Back of The Dragon! About 9 miles that is.
St. Rd. 623, which leads to Burke's Garden, is a very curvy, twisty ride.

The back entrance is all gravel, even though it's a state maintenance road, it's similar to a federal forest fire route. Great for adventure bikes.

Thanks John! I figured that might be the case from looking at Google Earth. I appreciate you letting me know for sure!

I just love riding with you and Greg. Watching you on your Wing makes me want to get mine out but I am not confident enough to try it yet after being paralyzed.

Thanks Jim! Yeah, you'd better wait until you're sure you're ready. Those Wings are a handful! I hope you feel up to it soon!

Yep, in conjunction with the Back of the Dragon being right there within 10 miles of Burke's Gardens, it makes for a good day of riding!
      Thanks! Y'all ride safe!

What is the brand of Helmet you are wearing, looks really sharp. Looked in the discription but didn't see it listed.

It is a Sena Outforce. I'll get that in the description. Completely forgot it! Thanks for the reminder!

@@LifeInTheGap That's one sharp, smart helmet, was reading all that it can do....very nice.

I like it pretty well. It has the features I was looking for in a helmet i.e. protection, vents, double visor (clear and smoked), bluetooth and communication. Of course the communication only works if the person(s) you're riding with also has a communicator! It's not the most expensive helmet out there but you know the old saying, "How much you spend on your helmet is how much you value your head". From my research on prices vs. quality I guess my head value is about average!

your riding buddy is correct; your in Mennonite country; they are a branch of the old world Amish; they use "some" modern conveniences and believe in furthering education of the youngins past the 8th grade...

I suspected that might be what they were there. We have a lot who live in and operate several businesses in our home county. I do find it odd though that everything I have read about Burkes Garden refers to them as "Amish" rather than Mennonites. Of course there may be a few Amish living amongst them. We did see a few horses around.
      Thanks Jason!
