Thanks for the tip regarding the spray… brings a new dimension to drawing and to be able to still layer after the spray has been laid down… brilliant!

The artist who can show areas of brilliant or subtle light, (“luminescence?”) more than the typical highlights or lowlights, in their work, (no matter the subject matter) is showing they’ve developed their skills in a more advanced way. When I visited the Salvador Dali’ Museum in St. Petersburg, Fl (a number of times…I used to live in nearby Tampa,) that’s what struck me, Dali’s absolute mastery of light. It was incredible, almost unearthly. But of course, he was a surrealist, so I guess that makes sense.🤔

Thanks Jason, could you use Spectrafix instead of the Revolution Freeze spay for sealing the under layer of stripes or markings?
I can't get the Clairefontaine Freeze spray in the USA. I use Pastelmat ,which is available. Just not their spray fixative at this point.

I can't find anywhere in Canada that sells the freezer spray. Would love to try it so I will keep looking 😊

Do you recommend a specific brand of gouache paint? Thank you

Hi, well I have learned from him to do this technique, and in my experience, it's not necessarily to buy a gouache of any specific brand, because it's to mark where the dark side of the object or shadows, then you add the pastel pencils on top. 😊

Black acrylic ink will preserve tooth and dry matt also.
