Just bought new bulbs from CEUK. But I'm used to the old days where LEDs would need a ballast so I didn't get them. Am I regretting that after watching how easy it is haha nice video mate.
I also have an mk ST Can I ask what the new bulbs are like? Just want a more white look than the standard yellow look I have on mine. Doesn't match the running lights at all
Excellent video, mate! It really clarified the process. Could you please share with us some footage from a night drive of yours? There are rumors that some dark spots may appear when using LEDs, so it would be very helpful to see their beam pattern before purchasing a pair of those.
Your light seemed to remove fairly easily, I am putting in some amount of force but mine won't budge. Would it be any easier if I did it after a short drive when it's a bit warmer under the bonnet? I am worried that I will break it when it's so cold and the light cluster will be more brittle
Mate what do you use for your high beam? I tried buying LED on amazon but they would not fit at all they are simply too long. Im just using the autobeam h1 halogen bulb which was said to be 5800k on the description but they still look yellow to me. Any suggestions for h1 led's that actually fits for the mk8 fiesta? cheers
Do you still have an mK8 fiesta mate? I’ve found some decent H1 high beam leds from Amazon and they’re perfect. If you still have it I can attach the link
Hi. Nice video! I just fitted these yesterday and would have struggled to fit had it not been for this. The headlights are ridiculously difficult to refit... Got there in the end. I've a guestion, do you know if these a legal. I've heard other leds arnt. You may not know, I just thought I'd ask.
I installed these last week. Getting the headlight units in and out was a real pain in the rear. That's not my main gripe though. Driving at night with these LEDs in my 20 plate ST is dreadful. The light is very poor and doesn't really reach that far. Anyone else had that experience?
Yes I did! Mine were not in the correct orientation, you can try rotating them slightly as sometimes during installation they move around a bit. You can maybe get a grip of them through the rubber cover although I annoyingly had to take the whole cluster off
@@solmackay I'll be trying to see what I can do with them over the weekend. I've ordered a set of Osram Night breaker bulbs as standby. If I have to get these light units out and in again it might be easier just buying a different car. Both were a real pain to get out but the OS unit was easier to get back in as I could get my hand under the unit to feel for the pin. NS unit on the other hand almost had me setting fire to the car as the bottom part of the housing bracket broke off and I've no idea where it went. It now only has the wee plastic pin there now and not the screw.
@@andrewbrown4125 i had these leds in my fiesta and they are just poor light output. i then got the osrams nightbreaker laser 200% which was a massive improvement. leds are not good for projector light bulbs so halogen or hid is way better. only minor downside is that the osram’s r a bit yellow but i’d rather be able to see at night than have fancy colours
I removed the annoying aluminum pop in pins from the headlight units using a10mm socket wrench to unscrew them and never again this horrible installation. Unit still mounts okay. Also not needed to remove the middle cover.
I also bought h1 led bulbs. I can just get them but no way possible including the holder rings. Seems there's not yet anything available for mk8 main beam led installation so I will try to make some adapter / holder myself.
@@solmackay yes they recently added those. Mini led bulbs and a smart clip to fit them. I already bought auxito h1 ledbulbs and managed to fit them nicely securing them with some hotmelt.

Watched your vid at the weekend to change mine with the same bulbs and it seems the 2021 lights have been sealed in!!! No cap to change the main bulbs :( The whole unit looks like it needs replacing now if the main bulb goes
Honestly it's a bit of a grey area as far as I'm aware. With the hid focuser it's not so much of a problem so long as they're... focused correctly which these ones are. As for the reflector housings I'd not be risking a run in with the law tbh
@@solmackay it is I've done it with ny fiesta but these leds are trash from afar stock bulbs go further also you'll find the fan on the led on driver side is rubbing the cap and stopping it from spinning if u just the the housing out when lights are on you'll here the fan start again... poor design
not legal. it will fail ur mot. the h in h7 means halogen. i had these leds before n they were terrible light output n the fans were noisy. a better light is the osrams nightbreaker laser h7 n they r wayyyy better. they are £35 halogens but that is the price to pay for good light output

@@ryanmcdougall6800 hey they haven't arrived yet. Was meant to come Thursday. But from RUclips, it makes them white rather than yellow.
Yeah they are much whiter than standard. Increase visibility a bit too from standard

I'm pretty sure that because they're the protector type that they are legal
