@@onlyalisaawilliams hi Alisa. Thank you for sharing that. Truthfully, the only reason I forced myself to record a video was in case anyone needed a little escape, the same thing I needed. I may be in Canada, but America has a profound affect on our politics. Our dolls will need to be more of a comfort than ever, so I didn’t even want to mention the turmoil in the video itself. Stay strong! I’m trying to say other assuring words… but we have no idea what the future holds.

I am crazy for how you styled your Kirsten. She looks soooo adorable. I am also in love with your PC Samantha. I’d love to find one with a similar expression. I have that same outfit on my Beforever Samantha. Samantha is definitely a favorite of my historicals too! My Claudie, also a favorite, is currently wearing Rebecca’s newer Hannukah outfit and it looks so good on her,I don’t know if I can take her out of it. Please keep the videos coming!

Isn’t Kirsten a little cutie this way?? I finally figured out how to get her bangs out of her eyes! I have seen a similar Samantha to mine since I got her, so she definitely turns up. If I can figure out a way to work that into a video, there’s no harm lol. And you’re right - my display update is so overdue. I’m having trouble sorting out the wall you see behind me in my videos. The shelves came right out of the wall!!
@ just use 200 Lb anchors! I have my displays on shelves and have not had any problem. I use the heavy duty white shelving with grey brackets so it doesn’t distract from my girls! If I lived near by I could pop by and install them! So I know you can do it.
@ you just need a masonry bit. First grab your anchors, the package will tell you what size bit you need. Drill the hole and then add your anchor. I like the zip anchors! Very easy to use! I’ll try to send pictures!

Claudie and Addy are definitely 2 of my most favorite Historical dolls. Felicity is my 3rd. I dobfind Elizabeth beautiful, I resisted fer her for awhile by creating my own book version but I finally succumbed. I don't have a cannon Rebekah or Ruthie but I think they're beautiful dolls

Kit is my favorite historical doll. I have been collecting all of her original retired outfits and accessories. I have spent a small fortune this summer! LOL. Love the historical dolls! I have a PC Samantha and Kirsten. I also have a first edition Felicity. Great video! ❤

I do plan to do an “All my dolls”video closer to Christmas so we shall see what I have then. The only other 18” dolls I sometimes pick up are “Our Generation” I sometimes find really cute ones in good condition at thrift stores however I often end up selling them. How about you?
It makes sense to rank all your dolls by having a whole series and you can pick your overall favorites 😅 the stress of doll collecting shall never be underestimated. I am also picking up my Cecile tomorrow. Very excited.

Oh and my partner is vegetarian (it’s part of his religion), so I don’t really eat meat in Indian cuisine - but sometimes I’ll sneak some chicken! That’s the only meat I really like. I’m actually a very picky eater, so I wouid never eat something as adventurous as goat 😝

I love Courtney's collection. I got everything I could get my hands on. Last Sunday in Chicago's American Girl event I brought home Courtney to be a friend to my first doll Kirsten. The goodie bag was cute Christmas PJ's, calendar, a cute Golden Book, toenail stickers and Christmas stickers. They look very cute both dressed in Courtney's collection. They are great everyday clothes. Love your videos ❤❤❤❤.

It cracks me up that I knew Claudie would be your favorite! Your least favorite Nanea is my literal most favorite historical character! I have her entire collection with the exception of Mele’s dog bed. I love her so much because she is my second doll of my own from my husband and girlfriends. They got her for my birthday which is on Pearl Harbor day. Which of course is quintessential to her story.

I find these sort of lists fascinating. I love hearing what sort of criteria people consider for ranking them - it sounds like for you it was the doll and their collection? I know that if I were to ever do a ranking, I would end up including their books/stories, too, because I grew up reading the historical books and it's hard for me to keep those out of my feelings. I totally expected Nanea to be at the bottom of your list, based on things you've said about her before. I do sometimes wonder if you had a different Nanea, if your feelings might be different (I personally think my Nanea is absolutely gorgeous, and she looks very different than yours). I was absolutely unsurprised by Claudie being your number one, but was surprised that Ivy and Samantha were numbers two and three - I knew you loved the eyes, but didn't know they swayed you so hard! Your Kirsten is amazingly cute, I love her cheeks, and I love the way you styled her hair. While I knew the Joss mold was up there for you, in terms of favorites, I never would have guessed at how high Isabel is - maybe because I don't think we see her terribly often in your videos? I could be wrong, I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of your videos. Really enjoyed hearing about your ranking and reasons for where they all fell. The idea that you'll someday be ranking ALL your dolls... I am VERY curious how that will turn out, someday! Some dolls didn’t need any consideration. I knew exactly where they went. I totally agree with you about Nanea! I think I need a nicer one someday. Mine looks really funny. (Then I would customize her too 🥴) Oops I didn’t put Ivy and Samantha high BECAUSE of the eyes, I just thought it was funny they made top 3 and had that in common. I love those 3 dolls individually. I was surprised about Isabel too 🤯 I fought myself to put her lower, but it felt wrong. Ranking is weird 🤣🤣🤣 Aside from Rebecca, most of our high ranked dolls are similar! @@DisBlaine I mean, don't get me wrong, your Nanea is perfectly nice, I don't mean to insult the poor thing. She gets enough trouble from your one doll in the 50s (can't remember- Mary Louise? Mary Lou?), I don't want to pile onto her! I just wonder if one with better eyes would change your feelings about Nanea herself. As for Maryellen... I would probably end up owning her, because the historicals are my favorites and I would need a 1950s doll from AG. I only have one doll from each era (hence why I have Ivy but not Julie), and since there isn't a best friend for ME, I would end up getting her. Thankfully, though, Mum has her instead and I don't need to worry about that just yet! She's a good doll, she just would be very, very low on my priority list. Similar to how I got Courtney last, to complete my "one per era" collection.

I can understand your ranking system. I think, of the historicals, I have Kaya, Molly, Felicity, Cecile, and Courtney as they come. I have a modernized Julie (wig swap to something really close), Nanea (really close wig and eye swap), the twins (eye swap on Isabel). One day, I may get Kirsten, not sure. I have Addy, but she is custom painted and different eyes and wig, so I won't really count her in there. Same with Ivy - wig swap and someone painted lashes on her. Sold Kit a while ago, as well as Josefina (who did not have her meet outfit). Loving your end dolls all together.

@DisBlaine I bought Ivy and Isabel already customized. A doll friend has the twins without meet clothes at an extremely reasonable price, and she had hand-picked them ($175 shipped for the pair). Ivy, I only know is Ivy since I know what to look for - a customizer was downsizing due to moving, and she was a good price as well($85). I didn't care for the wig she came with, so I found one from my collection.
Amazing video. Of course everyone KNEW claudie was going to be your number 1😂 but it was interesting to see how the others ranked. Well my personal ranking is very different from yours 😂 and my number 1 is a 3 way tie. Plus my ranking is mostly different for the actual characters as opposed to the dolls themselves. But as for the dolls, it goes: 23. Isabel ( idky she just doesn’t strike me as a favorite) 22. Nikki (i like her looks better than her sister) 21. Courtney (cute, but somethings missing for me) 20. Ruthie (i actually think she's super cute and gray eyes aren't common in dolls in general so to have a second one in the historical lineup is awesome) 12. Nellie (i just got nellie and she is the cutest little thing ever! She looks amazing in light blues, pinks and greens) 1. Addy, Kaya and Felicity. (It's a 3 way tie between them. I honestly can't put one over the other with these 3. Addy's hair is SO much fun to style and play with, and she looks so amazing in everything! Felicity, i love her eyes and she looks so beautiful in blues and greens, and kaya is just stunning and immaculately well done as a collection and i love her. I love all 3 of them as individual dolls and as characters. Their books are amazing, their collections are absolutely wonderfully done, amd they just are all equally stunning and beautiful dolls) So that's my ranking 😂 also i only own a few of these, so my opinions could change over time as i find the others. The only ones i have personal experience with are: Addy, Felicity, Kaya, Kirsten, Nellie, Samantha, and Josefina. All of whom were rescues in various states of destruction or disarray and most needed severe spa days😂

Oh yes your ranking could definitely change. I can’t believe how my opinions did by the time I sat down to do this.
@@DisBlaine oh, no I saw your felicity and she definitely needed more work than mine did, her main problem was she was sort of dirty and she was SO loose her legs were basically hanging off😂 my samantha looked the worst, due to fried hair and nail polish and whatnot all over, but addy has had the most work put in because of trying to preserve her original 90s hair, and adding new wefts to her wig to fill it out again.(finding identical hair to her 90s texture was hard) my samantha still needs a new wig, because this one is still not great, but your "dreamer" samantha is absolutely beautiful! I love how she looks like she's looking up and wistful, mine has a tendency to look down, as she's got a bit of a hunchback. I've yet to figure out how to adjust her stuffing enough to fix that.🤷♀️ but yeah anyone watching your videos can tell Claudie is your favorite 😂 just as anyone who knows me knows my 3 favorites😂 when you love something enough, it shows😂

I'm going to be the annoying commenter I guess. So much to say. 😂 I love all the historicals. I tried to start ranking them overall with all the qualities, but there are too many categories. They are all so special, and I have different connections to each. Some have better stories, some have more unique features but im not sure I can rank them!

Claudia is my favorite. She has the best combo of cute face hair and meet outfit. I like the newer faces more. Went to a doll show kind of sucks I only found a couple of AG dolls. I like the Nanea face mold it's cute. I would not put her last. I even think Summer is adorable. I just don't like her clothes.

Let me tell you something about being a newer collector and not wanting dolls to look alike… as you add more to your collection, the more you see uniqueness in dolls you once thought looked identical. I literally have 33 AND 102 - who was an updated version of 33 🙄🙄 I just made them sisters pahaaaaa Yeah I don’t know what’s up with Moana not being shipped here! I was able to order to a US address, but I wasn’t expecting that at all
Once you learn something about all the different face molds then you can try to avoid buying the same mold over and over again. I try to get different molds and now I know I lean toward Josefina. I will see a doll I love and then realize: "oh course you love her ,she is Josefina"
Get out of here with your Elizabeth despise! 😂😢 (I'm just teasing.) Elizabeth was my very first American girl doll I got at age 5. She was chosen for me by my mom because she looked like me, and so I have developed a strong connection to my Elizabeth. 😅

Kirsten was my first doll. I don’t own many of her clothes. I modernized her has a child, so I only have 2 outfits, but since gone back to trying to find outfits appropriate for her era. Emily 🥹🥹🥹 she was my second doll and she was my grandmas favorite I have all her outfits but the recital one (cause I love historical characters and her outfits were top tier in my opinion) Nellie was supposed to be my third but I ended up with a TM21 and I had a meltdown (yay asd) and my mom ended up calling AG and buying me Samantha (who I got for my birthday later that year) because Nellie was sold out. I loved the Molly movie so much I asked for Molly for my 15th birthday (that was a special year for me…) but since learned Molly in the books is a giant bully I kinda have mixed feelings. When Beforever came out I quit AG until they brought back Kit for her 100th Birthday. I absolutely love Kit her story is so good (so far) I also love her little face ☺️ I have Melody who I bought for myself for working over all of spring break (so the paycheck paid for her) i was upset when I got her because she was not brand new like the seller had said but @agtakesover fixed her up for me and now I adore her!! I finally found Nellie (TLC) online and I was able to restring her and I love her so much. I really want Ruthie, but I’m upset they her doll incorrectly portrays her character so I’m iffy on that one. I’m buying Claudie for Christmas and I’m so excited for her. 🥹😭 okay sorry rant over.

I really do forget about the BF dolls! Her photos are really sweet, but I wish she had a different mold to delineate her from Molly more. 21 is one of my fave TM dolls - I wonder if you’d have liked her better if you weren’t expecting Nellie 🤣 Did you ever get Nellie? I hope after you started collecting again, she was at the top of your list!

Our dolls will need to be more of a comfort than ever, so I didn’t even want to mention the turmoil in the video itself. Stay strong! I’m trying to say other assuring words… but we have no idea what the future holds.

@ just use 200 Lb anchors! I have my displays on shelves and have not had any problem. I use the heavy duty white shelving with grey brackets so it doesn’t distract from my girls! If I lived near by I could pop by and install them! So I know you can do it.

@ you just need a masonry bit. First grab your anchors, the package will tell you what size bit you need. Drill the hole and then add your anchor. I like the zip anchors! Very easy to use! I’ll try to send pictures!

Claudie and Addy are definitely 2 of my most favorite Historical dolls. Felicity is my 3rd. I dobfind Elizabeth beautiful, I resisted fer her for awhile by creating my own book version but I finally succumbed. I don't have a cannon Rebekah or Ruthie but I think they're beautiful dolls

I love Courtney's collection. I got everything I could get my hands on. Last Sunday in Chicago's American Girl event I brought home Courtney to be a friend to my first doll Kirsten. The goodie bag was cute Christmas PJ's, calendar, a cute Golden Book, toenail stickers and Christmas stickers. They look very cute both dressed in Courtney's collection. They are great everyday clothes. Love your videos ❤❤❤❤.

It cracks me up that I knew Claudie would be your favorite! Your least favorite Nanea is my literal most favorite historical character! I have her entire collection with the exception of Mele’s dog bed. I love her so much because she is my second doll of my own from my husband and girlfriends. They got her for my birthday which is on Pearl Harbor day. Which of course is quintessential to her story.

I find these sort of lists fascinating. I love hearing what sort of criteria people consider for ranking them - it sounds like for you it was the doll and their collection? I know that if I were to ever do a ranking, I would end up including their books/stories, too, because I grew up reading the historical books and it's hard for me to keep those out of my feelings. I totally expected Nanea to be at the bottom of your list, based on things you've said about her before. I do sometimes wonder if you had a different Nanea, if your feelings might be different (I personally think my Nanea is absolutely gorgeous, and she looks very different than yours). I was absolutely unsurprised by Claudie being your number one, but was surprised that Ivy and Samantha were numbers two and three - I knew you loved the eyes, but didn't know they swayed you so hard! Your Kirsten is amazingly cute, I love her cheeks, and I love the way you styled her hair. While I knew the Joss mold was up there for you, in terms of favorites, I never would have guessed at how high Isabel is - maybe because I don't think we see her terribly often in your videos? I could be wrong, I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of your videos. Really enjoyed hearing about your ranking and reasons for where they all fell. The idea that you'll someday be ranking ALL your dolls... I am VERY curious how that will turn out, someday!

@@DisBlaine I mean, don't get me wrong, your Nanea is perfectly nice, I don't mean to insult the poor thing. She gets enough trouble from your one doll in the 50s (can't remember- Mary Louise? Mary Lou?), I don't want to pile onto her! I just wonder if one with better eyes would change your feelings about Nanea herself. As for Maryellen... I would probably end up owning her, because the historicals are my favorites and I would need a 1950s doll from AG. I only have one doll from each era (hence why I have Ivy but not Julie), and since there isn't a best friend for ME, I would end up getting her. Thankfully, though, Mum has her instead and I don't need to worry about that just yet! She's a good doll, she just would be very, very low on my priority list. Similar to how I got Courtney last, to complete my "one per era" collection.

I can understand your ranking system. I think, of the historicals, I have Kaya, Molly, Felicity, Cecile, and Courtney as they come. I have a modernized Julie (wig swap to something really close), Nanea (really close wig and eye swap), the twins (eye swap on Isabel). One day, I may get Kirsten, not sure.
I have Addy, but she is custom painted and different eyes and wig, so I won't really count her in there. Same with Ivy - wig swap and someone painted lashes on her.
Sold Kit a while ago, as well as Josefina (who did not have her meet outfit). Loving your end dolls all together.

@DisBlaine I bought Ivy and Isabel already customized. A doll friend has the twins without meet clothes at an extremely reasonable price, and she had hand-picked them ($175 shipped for the pair). Ivy, I only know is Ivy since I know what to look for - a customizer was downsizing due to moving, and she was a good price as well($85). I didn't care for the wig she came with, so I found one from my collection.
Amazing video. Of course everyone KNEW claudie was going to be your number 1😂 but it was interesting to see how the others ranked. Well my personal ranking is very different from yours 😂 and my number 1 is a 3 way tie. Plus my ranking is mostly different for the actual characters as opposed to the dolls themselves. Addy's hair is SO much fun to style and play with, and she looks so amazing in everything! Felicity, i love her eyes and she looks so beautiful in blues and greens, and kaya is just stunning and immaculately well done as a collection and i love her. I love all 3 of them as individual dolls and as characters. Their books are amazing, their collections are absolutely wonderfully done, amd they just are all equally stunning and beautiful dolls)
So that's my ranking 😂 also i only own a few of these, so my opinions could change over time as i find the others. The only ones i have personal experience with are: Addy, Felicity, Kaya, Kirsten, Nellie, Samantha, and Josefina. All of whom were rescues in various states of destruction or disarray and most needed severe spa days😂

I thought Felicity would rank higher for me for the same reason you love your top 3: saving them from previous owners. I had to overhaul my Felicity too (but maybe not as much as you did yours).

@@DisBlaine oh, no I saw your felicity and she definitely needed more work than mine did, her main problem was she was sort of dirty and she was SO loose her legs were basically hanging off😂 my samantha looked the worst, due to fried hair and nail polish and whatnot all over, but addy has had the most work put in because of trying to preserve her original 90s hair, and adding new wefts to her wig to fill it out again.(finding identical hair to her 90s texture was hard) my samantha still needs a new wig, because this one is still not great, but your "dreamer" samantha is absolutely beautiful! I love how she looks like she's looking up and wistful, mine has a tendency to look down, as she's got a bit of a hunchback. I've yet to figure out how to adjust her stuffing enough to fix that.🤷♀️ but yeah anyone watching your videos can tell Claudie is your favorite 😂 just as anyone who knows me knows my 3 favorites😂 when you love something enough, it shows😂

@@illyrianya lol I felt so bad talking about the first few dolls, because I only got them because I love them… but not everyone can make the top 5 🥴 I really struggle with Nanea tho because I think I got a bad one.
I'm going to be the annoying commenter I guess. So much to say. 😂 I love all the historicals. I tried to start ranking them overall with all the qualities, but there are too many categories. They are all so special, and I have different connections to each. Some have better stories, some have more unique features but im not sure I can rank them!
@@happyjollyholly4455 that’s what made ranking them so hard! Each doll has different strengths, whether it’s their era, playsets, wardrobe, their face. The doll math I used didn’t make logical sense… but somehow I got the answers!

Claudia is my favorite. She has the best combo of cute face hair and meet outfit. I like the newer faces more. Went to a doll show kind of sucks I only found a couple of AG dolls. I like the Nanea face mold it's cute. I would not put her last. I even think Summer is adorable. I just don't like her clothes.

Gentle little correction at around the 30 minute mark talking about Ivy (gorgeous doll, agreed the eyes and modified sockets,) you mention Anne Frank, but I think you mean Lisa Frank. Lisa Frank is the woman who did the rainbow folder with the dolphins and such. Anne Frank is the 12 year old Jewish girl who wrote a journal in hiding during the Holocaust. ❤

Definitely fallen down the rabbit hole 🐇💲🐰💸But I can’t purchase Moana online? ….. they won’t ship the back ordered Moana doll 🇨🇦🇨🇦here for some packaging reason?? Very strange 😮😮

Let me tell you something about being a newer collector and not wanting dolls to look alike… as you add more to your collection, the more you see uniqueness in dolls you once thought looked identical. Once you learn something about all the different face molds then you can try to avoid buying the same mold over and over again. I try to get different molds and now I know I lean toward Josefina. I will see a doll I love and then realize: "oh course you love her ,she is Josefina"

My most fave historicals are Addy, Molly, and Courtney. My least fave are Nelly, Emily, and Ruthie.

Get out of here with your Elizabeth despise! 😂😢 (I'm just teasing.) Elizabeth was my very first American girl doll I got at age 5. She was chosen for me by my mom because she looked like me, and so I have developed a strong connection to my Elizabeth. 😅

@@ellaella9230 hmm I think I’d have to make my videos shorter. Whatever longer videos I watch have more ads, or sometimes it’ll be a long ad break with the message “fewer but longer ad breaks for this long video”. Something like that (but I definitely can’t control how many ads RUclips does)

Kirsten was my first doll. I don’t own many of her clothes. I modernized her has a child, so I only have 2 outfits, but since gone back to trying to find outfits appropriate for her era. Emily 🥹🥹🥹 she was my second doll and she was my grandmas favorite I have all her outfits but the recital one (cause I love historical characters and her outfits were top tier in my opinion) Nellie was supposed to be my third but I ended up with a TM21 and I had a meltdown (yay asd) and my mom ended up calling AG and buying me Samantha (who I got for my birthday later that year) because Nellie was sold out. I loved the Molly movie so much I asked for Molly for my 15th birthday (that was a special year for me…) but since learned Molly in the books is a giant bully I kinda have mixed feelings. When Beforever came out I quit AG until they brought back Kit for her 100th Birthday. I absolutely love Kit her story is so good (so far) I also love her little face ☺️ I have Melody who I bought for myself for working over all of spring break (so the paycheck paid for her) i was upset when I got her because she was not brand new like the seller had said but @agtakesover fixed her up for me and now I adore her!! I finally found Nellie (TLC) online and I was able to restring her and I love her so much. I really want Ruthie, but I’m upset they her doll incorrectly portrays her character so I’m iffy on that one. I’m buying Claudie for Christmas and I’m so excited for her. 🥹😭 okay sorry rant over.
