We were lucky with a beautiful sunny day. My mom's garden is so beautiful with all those flowers everywhere. I try to keep up with mowing the land. Otherwise all the weeds will spread everywhere. My mom doesn't want animals on the land because the garden is already a lot of work for her and taking good care of animals takes a lot of time. The weather was a bit stuffy, high humidity and Loulou & Coco drank more than normal. I wish you a wonderful Sunday.

Your moms flowers are picture perfect. But of course y’all are known for your flowers there.
Why is it so much fun to watch those little dogs running everywhere? I don’t know why but it is. They are so cute. I see Loulous little bald spot is still there. My sweet little Minnie who is no longer with me would get what they call hot spots on her side some summers. I would put Dr. Tichners on it. It’s an antiseptic and mouth wash. Really good for bug bites especially mosquito bites. I wonder if it would help grow her hair back.

Hi, the grass is now being eaten by leatherjackets. If we don't do anything now, we will run out of grass in a very short time. Nematodes kill the leatherjackets and hopefully we keep our grass. I think the freedom without a leash makes them the happiest. Now that more autumn weather is coming, we are going to the beach with them more often. Then it is not so busy with people. In the summer we hardly spend any time on the beach 😂🙈🙈. Have a wonderful evening ❤️.

Long vowel sounds in animal names are ideal. My Dad taught me that. They RESPOND better. You hit the trifecta with OOO OOO OH OH AND EEE EEE. Animals hear vowels above all else. Try it! Call them with just the vowel sounds. They’ll respond every time. XO

Eveline, I have confess a little mild jealousy from time to time when I see you mow. We live on a little 70 acre former cattle farm, and I'm currently mowing about 3.5-4 acres of that, and it takes a good 5-6 hours to tackle it all. It's beautiful when it's done, but during the growing season it eats up a full day every 5-7 days until the first frost slows down the grass. I would never intentionally have this much yard ever again, LOL. If we ever become financially independent, the first thing I'm doing is hiring out the yard!

Haha no, this is a very old lawn mower that also has a hole in the back, through which the grass sprays against my legs. It still works well and we always say that we will buy a new one when we move 😂😂🙈.

"Daddy Longlegs" larvae are called "Leather Jackets" and decimate lawns in the UK too, if you live in an area with Badgers they come and dig up the lawn to get to the Leather Jackets and make an even bigger mess!
Oh I didn't know their name in English. Thank you. Every year we buy new sod because there is no grass left. This spring when the new sod came in, we saw that it was completely full. The supplier sells grass full of leatherjackets. We hope we can fight them now.

We learned about nematodes as natural pesticides at Micropia in Amsterdam. Do you find that they work better than chemicals? Definitely better for the environment.
Our olive tree once had yew larvae and the tree almost died. Then I used nematodes and it worked perfectly. I hope they work just as well for leatherjackets now.
