I like that you're always honest when you make a positional mistake and then need to make a recovery shot. It's good for us to know what you're thinking. I also know it takes time to make these videos and I especially like that you show where on the white and position for the next shot. 2 shots ahead each time.
Just came across your channel yesterday and I’m a fan already and subscribed - very good videos and love the effort put into the production of them such as the visuals for positioning - it’s great to watch and use your aiming as a cross reference with mine and the thought process- keep up the great content 🍻👍🏻🥃
This is the perfect spot where the black goes in, and the white just avoids going into the middle pocket. If the contact was even a ball thinner, the white would probably go in-off.
great stuff, learn a lot in respect of break building and positioning. Just wanna ask, for position shot without hitting the cushion, at times you hit the cue ball with side (i.e. not hitting the white ball dead centre), may I know the reason for this? When hitting the ball with side, do you make adjustment to you potting line? Many thanks, keep the good work 👍
Thank you for your comment👍 The following is the response I gave when someone else asked about a small amount of side spin in the past. Feel free to take a look if you're interested. Regarding the slight side spin, while the priority is often given to the spin that changes the angle rebounding from the cushion, I add a small amount of side spin to stabilize the path of the object ball, achieving a more consistent potting. In English, this is referred to as "helping side." Please check out the following videos for reference: ruclips.net/video/Dfo_2qAXnaw/видео.html&ab_channel=BarryStarkSnookerCoach ruclips.net/video/WS7wtFQyf5g/видео.html&ab_channel=MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching Regarding 'Helping Side,' it's not something I consciously practiced and gained but rather something I unconsciously picked up through playing a lot of billiards. So, there isn't a specific practice method that I can recommend. For starters, I suggest not being fixated on hitting the center every time but rather getting a feel for which impact point is more likely to pot the ball depending on the angle. As mentioned by the coaches in the videos, not all professionals use side spin, as some prefer hitting the center of the ball. It's not something universally recommended for everyone. What works best is something only you can determine for yourself based on your own preferences and imaging.
What, he sold his house?? That's a serious commitment, even if he will be based in the UK for a while. Competing on the main tour really requires that level of dedication.
Thank you for your comment! Explaining the aiming method is quite challenging, so I recommend checking out the following videos by Coach Barton. They align closely with my approach, and you might find them helpful: ruclips.net/video/DsgFDwVdjxY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/JqM1dAxvTa0/видео.html And regarding eye alignment after setting up, I think it's similar to Neil Robertson's approach, so please check out this video: ruclips.net/user/shortsnsGW3yipjbg?feature=shared There are various videos available on how to aim at the ball, but aiming techniques and perspectives vary from person to person. What works best for you is something only you can determine, so initially, it's good to practice with whatever feels intuitively right for you.
I haven't precisely measured the total editing time for this video (including thumbnails, subtitles, and short clips), but it probably takes around 10 hours. The encoding process is automatic, but if you include that time, it takes even longer.
Why do good snooker players tend to walk around holding the cue using the opposite hand? Once, a teacher forced me to do this, but I never understood why.
I'm sorry. I haven't particularly thought about that point before. After considering holding the cue with my dominant hand, I think there are two reasons for holding the cue with the opposite hand. Firstly, it's convenient to hold the chalk with the dominant hand to apply it to the cue, so it's better to hold the cue with the opposite hand. Secondly, when getting into position, the dominant hand needs to grip the butt, so it's inconvenient to switch from holding the cue in a comfortable spot with the dominant hand to gripping the butt.
I'm doing this purely as a hobby. Right now, I don't have a regular job, so I can manage it, but once I start working, I won't be able to publish videos like this anymore.
@@Sasa_snooker thanks for replying, Sasa! Is Snooker popular in Japan? My guess is that it must be very unusual to have your own private snooker room with two tables there.
In Japan, snooker is not popular at all. There are many pool halls in Japan, but even among regular pool players, less than half know what snooker is. People who don't play billiards have likely never heard the word "snooker." By the way, the room with two tables that I use is actually a regular billiards hall.

Great recovery, especially the Sunny Akani style rest play.. congrats 🎉🎉
Thank you very much!
In situations like the last green at 11:45, the Sunny Akani style rest makes it much easier, so I recommend it.
Lucky white on last black. Very close to middle 🤦♂️👏👏

Sunny using Rest style is the best, imo.
It's very easy to use, especially in convenient positions like the last green(11:45).
Your table plays great. Plays fast like mine. That’s why it’s sooooo hard to play on other tables. Hate slow tables
Yeah, I'm quite used to this table, but it's a bit too fast. The cushions rebound much more than the standard ones.
I'm from Thailand, i love sunny's rest style.❤
I'm from Japan. Sunny has returned to the main tour, so I hope he does well again.👍
