Balancing the social norms and personal aspirations is difficult. This is not an easy drama, but they really made it beautifully. Congratulations 🎉 The actings aren't really good, but the main idea & the storyline are good. Watching this movie makes me feel like watching a documentary rather than a drama 🤔

This kind of story is refreshing unlike the other Chinese stories are more of bullies,poisoning,killing,selling their daughters for money .this one shows the power of a woman and the equality,that woman can help to make a change in the world
*_This original was released around 10 years ago..the original is at least 3-4 hours long, showing the entire drama, sufferings the fL suffered in the houfu, aka her ex-hubby's mansion and how she later on becomes an empress,with the RIGHT man as the emperor and husband.the FL after a long torment, is able to stab the ex-hubby and run away, with the prince's/her brother's help, to a separate mansion..this is amidst the kidnapping and jostle for power, between the third and fifth princes.the jiang family of her ex-husband supports the third prince,[as the husband's own sister is married to the old emperor and has a son], while the FL's aunt is married to the emperor and has another child-the 5th prince..The fL has been married for three years, holding a tablet[assuming the 2ML is dead but has an active engagement and so is pushed into it, by the stepmother] the father also compels the fL,& lets her step into the marquis' mansion, as a bride..she has waited patiently and helped with the mansion's accounts and survival of the marquis' mansion, with her unique skill and intelligence..But after 3 years, comes the news, that her husband is alive and he comes home, with a modern woman in his arms-a time traveller..then begins the torment and humiliation, but the fL remains STRONG and STEADFAST until the ex-hubby damages the FL's aunt's son, in the fight for position in the court..along with the ex-hubby comes a WISE man[as he gets introduced by the husband, to his family] but it is actually the crown prince, in disguise..the crown prince likes the intelligent,calm & brave fL..And when the fL asks for a divorce, he supports her to escape from the mansion, as the ex-husband, now wants to imprison her and keep her dowry under his control..the ex-husband, too late realises her intelligence and values her, not willing to let go..the fL then stabs him, during an argument/fight and escapes, as she is literally kept under house arrest.the fL stays in a separate home [as her father/stepmother] do not let her to come back, to her natal home..this is where the crown price under disguise as an EUNUCH, visits her and step by step the FL plans for him to take back his position of power..For the Crown prince, has been in nanjing[as a hostage], for almost 15 years, as a hOSTAGE and after his comeback, has been pretending to be a paralysed person,in bed and is treated as an outsider..so the fL plans for him to re-integrate and bring the city's 4 most powerful families under his control[without marrying those families' daughters as concubines] but yet giving them a position of ''officials of the court''-a rarity, as women were never allowed to leave home and hold official positions in court..how the ML/FL navigate the pitfalls of the court, and take over the throne, bringing in an era ,where women were seen capable of running the court duties and have more freedom, is the rest of the story..A MUST watch, if one can withstand the long dialogues, as there is no romance shown, as this era is about separation between the men and women and strict protocols_* 🤩✌✌✌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
I'm glad they didn't show the torment or torture. The stabbing was too sudden makes sense some bits are missing. The cut has a better focus of the ML and FL. It would have been nice to see the budding relationship when she was in the middle house. Glad you brought in the detail. I think with dramas seen enough of them you form an idea of what was missed. I guess your summary helps
This one was very well crafted. FL was a master strategist and the ML knew it and respected her. With her brother at her back and her crown prince at her side doing everything her way, they all rose to power in the proper way. It wasn't an easy battle, but she used all her strengths in supporting women, even the transmigrated one who took her first husband. FL stood on business in raising women up and her lovely ML's full support was the icing on top easing the way for them all to become officials. As for their simmering love story, his respect of all her previous traumas led her to falling in love with him and strengthened their relationship to an amazing level.
This is awesome. The SFL is using her future knowledge correctly by helping the FL. The ML ❤❤❤ (crown prince). FL ❤❤❤. Awesome work actors, directors, writes. 🎉
