As a Dublin man Supermacs isn't too great anywhere unfortunately.
You hit the nail on the head "consistency" is exactly what supermacs is missing. Everyone of them you visit is different. If you come across a good one the food is actually quite nice but unfortunately there's alot of bad supermacs out there🇮🇪👍

Like Kentucky in the UK, you never know what you're going to get. Actually, that's untrue as some of them are always awful.

Only ever had Supermacs in Galway and it was always good. Saying that I was probably hammered.
When you went into one on Talbot Street I immediately thought NOOOOOOOOO!!! The chicken breast sandwich in my local one is greeeat and the taco chips amazing. Also the tenders they have are unmatched. Sad you had such a shite experience
Supermac in Dublin. Bad mistake. Try is almost anywhere else in the country and it 10 times better then Macdonald's or burger king.
Any supermacs outside of Dublin is really nice, that food you were served is for Dublin only.

You see where you've went wrong here is how you approach Supermacs. I always find it's best to approach it with about 18 pints of Guinness on board, then I can confirm it is indeed the food of the gods 😁
Go in there sober and you deserve everything you get 🤣

Seen the boys in that gaff giving you grief on TikTok saying 'The English boys can't take supermacs'. Judging by the comments on here most Irish boys agree that it looks rank! Maybe just a bad franchise but I salute you for even taking a bite of that grease burger *balk*
So, you prefer the cold burgers from McDonald's that are sitting in a heated container for half the day?
I actually can't even fathom how anyone could prefer McDonald's.
In Supermac's, all 5oz and 7.5oz burgers are cooked to order and so fresh.
The chicken is actual chicken! The fish is actually fish!

Only ever been to one Supermacs where food was not nice and that was Shannon, everywhere else I went food was consistent, I like them because you know exactly what you will get each time.

That is very true, all depends which one you go to if it is a chain!
Watching this a year later, after watching your 3 Supermacs reviews... One in 3 is about right, consistency is shocking... Their garlic chips and cheese can be outstanding or BIN-worthy, I always ask for the chips to be extra crispy but even when asking I don't get my order as specified... It's always a gamble on a great feed or put it in the bin!!
If you go to a regional, busy franchisee....you will get quality Supermacs! Im not saying that because I'm Irish but because was only in one in Galway yesterday and it was lovely. I had the chicken sandwich meal with onion rings and it was unreal!! Dublin franchises are never as good!!! Good to see you in Dublin man 😃

Need to try hillbilly’s in fairview, about 10 min walk from where you were ; to the left around by the spar and it’s a straight walk , supermacs I’d like the pound world of hillbilly’s 😂😂
They are not simular to maccies. They don't do good burgers. They are best known for southern fried chicken, tenders and curry cheese chips

Tastes great after 10 pints
Reason they are compared to McDonald's is because McDonald's tried to get Supermacs to change the name of the 'Might Mac Burger', they said McDonald's owned the 'Mc' name in Europe. It went to the European courts and McDonald's lost, big time lol. So now anywhere in Europe can use 'Mc' on their menus because of this ruling.
The Supermacs you went to is around the corner from my work, I only go there if I really hate myself that day lol.
Also, some Supermacs are incredible, mainly outside Dublin, but you need to ask which one is best to try because, some are dogshite like on Talbot St, avoid that place like the plague. I think it gets loads of business from the hostels in the area.

That is not the reason. They are compared as Supermacs is the Irish version of McDonald's style fast food chain. Truth be told....it is pure muck.

Love the honesty......some fast food is better than others but if it's over kept and unloved being put together...its a recipe for a distaste

SuperMacs is known in places in Ireland as "Rent A Scran" (scran = meal/food), it stays in your system for a short while (rent) and then you "throw up" shortly after eating it! 🤣🤣 In saying that, I have come across one exception and that was in Galway city (Terryland) where I got the very BEST ever Cod in Beer Batter, it was amazing. The last time I went to that same place and ordered it, they discontinued it!!!!
Got to agree with the reviewer supermacs is by far the worst fast food chain in Ireland and to add insult to injury it's bloody expensive.
So glad you gave Supermac a score of 1. Any higher and it would have totally negated all of your good reviews. Def worst carry out food in Ireland. I'd rather starve.
im a brit that randomly ended up in a supermacs today while in ireland on a work trip. probably the best chicken sandwich i've ever had and i know what im getting for my dinner tomorrow

Spot On review. Irish person here - SuperMacs is terrible (although some are marginally better than others). The first one was in Ballinasloe in the midlands (east County Galway). The big one on Eyre Square in Galway is a bit iconic but only because it is huge and Galway is a proper drinkers city and you need to go somewhere to soak up the pints. The idea behind SuperMacs was to cram all the fast food ideas into one restaurant - so pizza, fish and chips, burgers, fried chicken, subs etc. They are all done either poorly or to a barely medium level. best bet is the fried chicken I think - a snackbox is about the only thing I would risk. the chips have to be some of the worst in the country - cooked from frozen and usually fairly soggy. burgers are pretty terrible also.
Here mate try Declan and Donals deli Bolton st best breakfast roll in the country you won't be let down

McDonald’s is garage & processed through the roof. He’s 100% wrong about the chicken fillet burger & only being negative about it because he’s been critiqued for giving good reviews on everything. Sorry brother, I’ve seen some of the crap you’ve praised & this is 10X better & you sacrificed the most popular food staple in Irish society….

I've never seen a Supermac's that bad before. If I were served that, I'd bring it back for a refund and never go there again. Supermac's are great if the location is right. I never go to McDonald's. I can't stand their "food".
The only way you could have tried a worse Irish fastfood chain is if you went to Abrakebabra!

2 places in Ireland that are very dependant on which one you go to are supermac's and KFC. I love supermac's but there's a few I wouldn't set foot in.

You missed a trick there in Supermac's. They have some franchise thing going on with Papa John's & have in a lot of their outlets. Whenever I visit I never go for Supermac's, I always go for the Papa John's Full Irish Pizza. Dunno if you've got the equivalent in the UK but that one is a taste to behold, awesome flavour & a mouth watering bite in every slice. You should have got your pizza there rather than the other Pizza joint.
Everyone outside of Dublin loves it and the Dubs themselves no so much! We prefer the Italian chippers! You need like a Leo Burdocks or Borza Chipper!
Been here myself it was round the corner from our Air BnB and it was ok. Didn’t blow my mind though. You should try BoBo’s they are top notch
Yeah Bobos are great. Different level of restaurant in fairness to Supermacs though.
As all my fellow Irish people have said. You went to the wrong one. Dublin is not the place for supermacs. Galway is prob the top of the list. Junction 14 monasterevin is another spot. You need to revisit. You just picked the wrong one.

Think you hit a really bad Supermacs. Ive never seen so much grease on a burger. Chicken Breast Sandwich is normally much better than what you got. But I guess all the shops are different. I live down the country and they are all good round here. Garlic Cheese Chips fab. Love their chips. Dont like their beef burgers.

I'd say that where Supermacs is lacking where Mickey D's isn't, is the flavour of their food. Supermacs is bland as fuck, unoriginal and pretty samey. Mickey D's have their fair share of detractors but they do make an effort to keep their menu fresh and exciting, with how they constantly reinvent it.
It just wasn't for me I'd much rather have a bad Maccies then go back to Supermacs again 😅
After looking at them burgers. Im now tucking in to a Big Tasty which looks and probably tastes way better

Big tasty is a chunk of crap in comparison to a supermacs 5 Ounce. I could list twenty Macdonald where I've got shite burgers and only two supermacs.... Both in Dublin and both still better then Macdonald's
The taco chips are hit and miss in Supermacs. The ratio is always off.
They usually tend to drown the chips in taco sauce and there is never enough meat, that's also usually covered up with in that cheap cheese.
Was just a big disappointment after alot of people recommended it 😔

@@FoodReviewClubUK They'd be the 2nd biggest Irish fast food franchise after Supermacs. Colin Farrell has shown off his Abrakebabra Black Card on Jimmy Kimmell a couple of times. There was talk in the mid 00's they were going to open 25 stores in the UK but I don't know if they ever actually did. Abrakebabra can be really good but it's wildly inconsistent.

Supermacs is absolute dirt. I've lived across the road from one for 8 years and never ordered once. So many nicer places to eat, and it isn't even cheap.

I put that down to the person who made the Burgers. I eat it recently in a different county and it was savage, drive through and all. It's not good food to begin with but fast food chain wise (if its cooked correctly and assembled neat) it hits the spot. You were served a joke. That is an absolutely terrible look for SuperMac's. 👎

Out of all the food I’ve had from Supermacs, the Chicken Breast Sandwich can either be the nicest thing you’ve ever eaten, or the worst. It depends where you get it and you just got unlucky my friend. It’s horrible when it’s dry as f*ck

That's is the worst supermacs I have seen they can be inconsistent some are very good I think staffing issues is the problem McDonald's always seem to have plenty of staff and I think the pay is better
Not to put a downer on things but that suoermacs is known for being pretty bad. The franchise isn't know for consistency like McDonald's.
Don't ever buy fried chicken from chippers in Dublin. You can break your teeth on they're that dry. Super macs must cook them and refry them. That's why they're so leathery.
