This model was available in the UK for a few years between 1982 and 1985 as a 3 door and 5 door hatchback. It perhaps didn't last too long as there wasn't much of size difference between it and the smaller Starlet supermini and the larger Corolla E80 in the Toyota range. There was also a 5 door 4 wheel drive estate model that was phased out in 1987/8 in favour of the new Corolla E90 4wd estate.
Had same car but it was 4door. Had 3ac engine. Had that car going 120. Would drive all over the US. Transverse mounted engine. Not sideways like most front wheel drive.
nice...i spent most of my first licensed years galloping to and from school in a blue version but some were also the brown/gold as those were fairly common too...mine all had a 3a engine though (Canada)...I actually went thru quite a few of them in 2 door 4 door and even some 4wd wagons..most were manual gearbox
Das war mein erstes Auto 1996... Ist leider nach nur einem halben Jahr abgefackelt...Kupplungsbrand...🤷♂️ War aber ansonsten wirklich nicht schlecht...
@@MrDwightsimon I was, and although I still do in some way, the timing is not great. I live in Norway, and our currency (The Krone) has collapsed completely. One US $ used to cost 5 kroner. Now it is over 10 kroner. Making everything I buy from foregin countries twice as expensive. And I guess you don't live in Norway, so unfortunately I must pass at this time 🥲
Lemon, after lemon, after lemon. My old man couldn’t get a decent car if his life depended on it. He finally got one with this Toyota. But he could barely drive stick. 🤦♂️
Back in the 80’s, I had a silver one. It got about 38 mpg in LA traffic. Never had any issues. It always started and it drove smooth. Great car.
What an AMAZING Tercel man!!! I cannot believe how pristine yours is!!! My respect you you, my friend! !!!
@Richard Luis Ibarra yeah, it has to be the cleanest 206,000 kilometre car I’ve ever seen.
I had a Canadian one. Same colour. I really miss it. Was such a good car.
Memories!!! I had a greyish blue one when I was 16.
Was für eine betörende Schönheit, voller Funktionalität.
My first car in 1993. It overheated and broke down a lot. I had 2 6x9 speakers, a tape deck, and a subwoofer.
I had the 4 door same color but had the 3ac engine. Drove it all over the country .gave it to younger brother 4 years ago.
@Martin R. Do you know where this car is as of 2022?
Une petite voiture très très efficace.Je l'avais acheté en Belgique en 98.
Nice, Fresh, and Clean...
This was exactly like My first car color and all!!!
During my childhood my dad owned 2 blue ones and two brown ones they were awesome cars I’ve been looking for one there cool little cars
Isn’t this the one with the longitudinal engine - front back -verses transverse ?Unusual for a front drive car.

In Germany it was the Toyota Corolla right? Good car! he already had power steering, what did the car cost back then?
Why should it be the Corolla when there already was one? Seriously, do your homework and/or look a bit more closely at the video, it's NOT that hard.
I had one of the in tan it was my first car….
Nice
