Nice review, I have two 2005 Nissan 350 Zs. Both have the VQ35DE engine. I am actually glad about that. I do not have oil burning issues like the more powerful engines that came in later 350 Zs. I have plenty of speed and on public highways I can keep up with anyone. Sure on a closed track I would not have a chance. The best part of the 2005 model year was the very low technology. All of the fancy stuff that you can find in sports cars are great but really unnecessary. I just take my Zs out for a cruise and feel great doing it. I am writing this at the beginning of 2021 spring season and I have seen 350 and 370 Zs well under 15K. If you want a great low cost sports car buy one. Plus, if you are not mechanically skilled it does not cost that much for maintenance and repairs.
ima have to disagree on the automatic comment😂 I drove manual for 13 years and picked up one of these 08s in automatic. Its so amazing. I think i just finally got tired of the constant shifting and the automatic is so responsive. After driving stick for so long i show off my auto z to everyone lol
Same here. 5AT is a tank, and rev-matches on downshifts. Tune the TCM with Uprev, remove 0-60 WOT limitation and you're off to the races. Using 2-3-4th in the 5AT during canyon drives IS pretty fun, don't let anyone tell you different. My old manual car was a 2000 Maxima SE (3.0 VQ).
Watched this review just before buying mine this past summer. Had to rewatch the video after owning it. I purchased an 07 MT roadster with only 60k miles I'm in love with it! Picked up some Enkeis this summer and just need some good tires come spring. The car came with a Magnaflow exhaust too. I drive it with the top down all the time and it's such a blast, I take it for groceries, errands and just as much as possible. Taught my wife how to drive it and she loves it too. Even my dog joins me for rides!
This car saved my life i got into a bad accident and i was surprised how much saftey was in this car i literally had air bags wraping around me all i had was some bumps and bruises and a little neck wiplash and lower back pain but it could have been worse going at 70mph on the freeway when someone hit me from the side and i literally went 360 and crashed into other cars.
The 350z honestly has such good reliability considering other cars in its class. I've never heard of anyone having a major issue with the 350z. And I mean come on, that body is just nice to look at, even stock.
@@SCUMMY4205 i bought mine 3rd owner and besides some minor maintenence, everything has been solid for me. ive put on about 3k miles since i bought it and the engine is still solid. no leaks. needs cosmetic work but it still takes me across my state comfortably.
Excellent review of 350z! One of the best sport cars ever! I own '05 and it drives very well and it is really fast. It is a well designed and amazing car!
I'm seriously considering buying this car. I drive trucks all the time and they are very uncomfortable. This car looks like a lot of fun and very comfortable.
Picked up a 2007 HR a few days ago and all I can tell you is I'm in love with it, my wallet on the other hand has some mixed feelings about the fuel consumption and tax bracket
I use 93 octane it burns cleaner if your using 87 going to burn faster tuned for 93 octane i had bmw 325 i it burns the same ss that car i see no difference and i dont floor it all the time and get some lucas fuel cleaner
Your music mix is a tad high and is overpowering your commentary. Not sure it's required - or at least - turn it down. Love everything else which is why I'm nitpicking.
Best thing about this car is it hasnt changed over the years and you can claim its a 15 or a 17 when its an 08 and allot of people wont know. And you can get them fairly cheap
I know this is an old comment, but I just want to clarify for anybody trying to learn about these cars. This car (350z) is completely different than the 370z which was produced from '09-'20. This car absolutely HAS changed over the years, considering they've had 3 different engines and two different chassis
If you don’t live in a area that gets bad winters I say get it. Otherwise look into something with at least AWD or FWD. your preference. Your first and only car if your gonna build it somewhat needs to be useable all year around.
there is one for sale in austin tx. about 10k. 6 speed, 50k miles. i think its GOL auto group but idk how you feel about dealerships. i browse them regularly.
i got mine from Autopark Dallas and the had quite a few 350s all in really good shape and the even transported it to me (Just from Dallas to Lubbock but still)
Super hard choice either going for a 2008 all blacked out very nice and has 130k miles for $7,500or a 2006 all blacked out with a gt wing and 93k miles for $7,000I ’ve heard 2006 have oil consumption issues so I’m leaning towards the 2008
I’m jealous of the prices you’re finding these at? I write this January 2023 in Florida and the prices aren’t that low. Where do you find the cars with the price you’re mentioning?
Hey guys! I’m 14 and I’ve always been into import cars (JDM) and European cars. I was thinking of getting this as my first car and build it so I can drift/race on track but still have some highway pulls and just have fun on the way to and from school. I was thinking a 2jz swap with coil overs and wider front and rear tires. Please, if you have any advice reply
I would recommend learning how to drive on a less powerful platform first before buying a 300 hp car. Also get a job first, a 350 in good condition can cost $15000+, an engine swap would be way too expensive. Stop dreaming and get down to earth lol.
This is a nice ass first car but like I’d recommend like giving yourself some time to getting used to your car first that 2jz swap is going to be a shit ton and you don’t gotta have the fastest car out there like just get something you can modify but like I thought I had a shit Ton of money then I realized just one bumper cost like 6K like nah fuck that lol I can only imagine how much that 2jz is but go for it if you want just know it ain’t how you start but how you finish your first car ain’t gonna be the best one just try to make the ones after that better 👍
I guess for a 350z and a track car, 2jz would be a bit of an overkill. You wont enjoy it on the track in highway and drifting yes but remember you're still a beginner my best advice is if you want an all arounder 350z that you can track, drift and drag the car and engine is good itself with a bit of weight reduction, fixing/replacing things by yourself, and a bit of tuning, this thing is a hell lotta fun. Well that's just my opinion. Im more of a track guy so that's it. Aaaaand if start going at the track, never ever underestimate anyone's car especially the 5th and 6th generation civics they're hella fast at the corners haha. Goodluck bruh, i hope you understand what I mean and I hope you get the right car for the right purpose🙂
I have the same configuration :D '08 Enthusiast trim, Invidia N1 exhaust. Have had her for over four years now as a daily driver. She handled Michigan winters and now is comfortable in California. You're on point with how this puts a smile across your face every single time you look at her, or indeed drive one. Close to 90k miles on mine, and more to go!
Great video, bro. I love the sound of the exhaust and I love that color. I either want a 2007 or 2008 350z in silver or the metallic like yours. You look to be a tall man. How tall are you because I am 6'1" 250 lbs. and wondered how comfy these cars are for folks 6' and over.
I have the exact spec but its a 207 links and sounds the same. I was fortunate to find it 2 1/2 years ago with 7000 verifiable miles, it currently has just over 25,000 and has the muffler delete sounds like the car in this video. Its a sold car and a great value very engaging and from back in the days when you had no electronics to make the car feel dated. Its a keeper.
My UK model has a limited slip, Brembo calipers, heated/electric seats amongst other things. I don't think the poverty spec version was actually sold over here.
I might pick one up a 2007 350z hr enthusiast with 75,000 miles and with a new clutch and timing cover. He is asking for $13,800 for it tho, might offer somewhere between $11-12k
