      Prehistory, McLean, skip about 10 years, Luongo, Schneider, Miller, Markstrom, Demko, Vislov? Pretty decent for last 18 or so years.

      I was so happy to hear that he re-signed a year or two ago. He is the best goaltending coach in the league, and the Canucks are lucky to have him.

      This man needs a raise and quickly. He is a one man factory. And he should have a school for teaching other goalie coaches after retirement. Until we got him, we were a goalie graveyard and ever since, we have options as trade bait and anytime one of our goalies deserves a major raise, we can trade him and we always have a spare. This man has created a coaching position that rivals no one

    • @TheBluelineHockey
      @TheBluelineHockey  Месяц назад +6

      @kleung9717 you’re looking at it from a narrow lens. He is the Director of Goaltending. All he can control is the performance of a single position, he has no say in roster construction, tactics, matchups, etc.
      He can only be judged by the performance of his goaltenders. Bobrovsky won a Vezina in his first year under Clark, and then again 3 years later. Luongo was a Vezina finalist, and now Demko is as well. That is a proven track record.

    Great video
    Clarky was heavily headhunted awhile back and thank God Benning said name your price and gave him 100% control of everything, including who we draft or trade for, goalie wise.
    Scary thing is Tolipilo according to Ian has the most raw tools he's ever worked with, along with his size and athleticism that's nuts

    0:51 - You have to think that he didn't reveal his entire methodology since he is helping the Canucks compete for a Stanley Cup. It's like giving away your full recipe to the competiiton. And I would assume that he has developed more advanced training since the book which he has yet to reveal and won't until he retires.

    He is a great goalie coach. Sad that his books are so hard to get. My goalie has one of them and we have done everything we can to get the other two including contacting the Canucks and attempting to contact the man on LinkedIn. Being a goalie in Australia means getting goalie coaches is difficult. Wish there were more books available!

    They said Markstrom would trend downward just like Bobrovsky did when they got traded away from Clarke. Didn’t this guy literally write the book on goaltending? I remember when his contract expired a few seasons ago and Van gave him what he wanted to stay with the Canucks. Probably the most sought after goalie coach in the league, Vancouver is lucky to have him.
