Oh, thank you so much
🙏
Make your content on your channle RUclips i Will subs you
The last one is your standard metal beat btw
3:40 she’s like what the hell is going outside 😂
In addition to swing. It's always nice to offset your drums too, the snare especially
Not always, on pattern 1 shown above, offsetting the snare results in a dissonant rhythm because the hihats are offset as well
You’re a nonamer
@@GeoffreyDabner you too my nigga
@@darkkitchenrecords2625 yes, not always, that will obviously sound off time, and what I'm talking bout isnt a huge offset, just a very small nudge
@@GeoffreyDabner never heard of you
I like this lesson but lemme clear up some vocab for ya'll. The words beat and bar were being used interchangeably, but in a 4 bar phrase in 4/4 like this you have 4 beats per bar and 16 beats in a 4 bar loop. Counted properly, that ride rhythm isn't a triplet but 3 dotted eighths (eighth and a half) starting on the off-beat ( dead center between beats of a bar) of beat 1 of the bar. Small thing but important difference if you want to communicate that since if you try to use a triplet grid to write that rhythm you'll need to bump things up to 12 divisions per beat/48 divisions in a bar to find the right spot. Also the "... second kick in between.. whatever.. these thick lines here", that's hitting on the off-beat of 2.
Yeah, this important. If you start mixing these words up while working with other people it’ll really confuse the situation.
Well said mate. He lost my enthusiasm with the..'whatever these thick lines are'. Considering there's 168 thous subs, its probably just me.
hilarious!
But it's so cool to sound like you don't know anything about what you're doing. Way less try hard. Like calling something a fourth note instead of the standard quarter note.
Alex knows a ton, no doubt, and this was a super helpful video for a lot of people, but knowledgeable about music terminology is not a high priority (it seems).
@@TheToneWork yep, we all probably do this without thought.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Alex, I really appreciate these tutorials :) Take care, regards from England!

Hi there, do you maybe know which one is the first kick he is showing? how is it named in logic? I don't know what to look for.. is it the "Kick 1 - 808 Flex"? Or another? And what are the adjustments to let the kick exactly sound like in the video? Can't find one which sounds equal to that he's showing. I'd appreciate any help!

You know you just basically showed us how to do 1 and 7 on the kick three ways double time and single time it's the same drum pattern we use for a bounce on club songs but with minimal ization on the hi-hats it makes the groove sound slower
honestly thats what i was thinking. this are pretty basic drum patterns.

@@LofiCult Hello! I'm not exactly sure if this is the right one but the one I found that's very similar to the sound is "Kick 1 - Jagged Edges" on the sound library for drums. I am also still learning and navigating from logic hehe hope this helped.
My life has been really bad. I have some problems. (Seizures and Depression). Seizures give me a lot of problems though. I can never drive for my whole life, I have a seizure everyday, depression also goes higher, and work really stresses me out more than other people. I've almost suicided a lot, so I just have to get a grip on it. I have practiced music for 4 years and none of my friends want to make music with me! I will love to make Electronic music with just almost any music artist and that will make me happy!

Never thought that Jeebs from Men in Black would be teaching me some lofi tricks.
I love the vocal sample where can I find something like that?
❤ from India bro
This title cracks me up
men thanks for this video
Can you do a pro tools all native plugins tutorial next.
NIce tricks ❤❤❤❤
Most of us we're FL users... I love your tutorials! Just one problem 🤦 logic pro💔
The daw doesn't have much to do with the video though. It's only about about midi which is universal.
Thanks for this. Question: why do you have each drum instrument on an independent track rather than having one drum kit track with the whole beat within? Is it easier to work with or just easier to show your working on camera?
It means that u are free to assign different plugins to different parts of the kit slightly easier. Like you might wanna compress your bass drum a lot, and maybe add a tape delay (Led Zep style). You can eq and edit the sounds within one track normally (depending on the drum machine ur using) but it's more problematic when u want to add certain effects. So separating them out makes it easy.
I would 100% recommend all producers who are using midi for their drums to stay away from using drum kits, you can accomplish the same end results doing it either way but when you have independent tracks for each part of your drums there's a mindset shift of being really intentional on how each part of the drums is being processed (eq/audio effects/ect).
Drum kits are still very useful for people who want to use drum pads for live performances or just experimenting
what drum plugin would u recommend alex. The basic drums add the lofi groove but dont sound so good
great video. was wondering what kind of bass is used in lofi besides for bass guitar and 808s?
You can use anything really. Bass guitars, bass or sub-bass from synth (sine+ distortion works nicely) 808s, vintage basses of all sort should work. The only rule is it should play nicely with the other sounds you chose.

@@LofiCult Hey, I cant help you with that I produce in FL studio, but let me tell you, sometimes its better to use one that sounds good to you and settle, searching the perfect sound, sample, mix or master, doesnt help generally.
