The Red Clay Ramblers were an important piece of my childhood. My dad had their version of While The Band Is Playing Dixie on tape (or maybe an old CD with random music) and I've been looking for it online for years. The song I was looking for was "The Winding Stream" which I used to hear on Lee Michael Demsey's WAMU program waaaay back. Like you, I tried to find the song for years, finally sent an email to someone and learned that it wasn't BY the Red Clay Ramblers but by "members" of the group. I immediately bought the CD and it has brought me so much pleasure! I didn't know the CD had "Give Me the Roses" a song I also love.
