In these days (2015 - 2021... and even many newer cuts), they play most of their live songs exactly like their studio cuts. So you can open up two windows, have the album run in the background over the live fancam window and just count off the intro and they sync up perfectly! Thx, Rick!
Do you remember, Tom, back in the good ol' days when B-M gave songs space to breathe? You know, when there was still room for earworm riffs, hooks & grooves to develop. And Kanami wasn't using her Eventide octave harmoniser then either. BONUS!😃
@@GaryHolloway-810 Rory Gallagher used an octaver like that in the 80s and even then I found it unpleasant to listen to. I once set a harmonizer to an octave in the absence of a 12-string Rickenbacker to cover Eight Miles High and it didn't work too badly.

I just don't like the harmoniser at all from the moment she first started to use it. When Kanami is playing solos higher up the neck it sounds to me like a whiny synth more than a guitar. I'm only being honest.🤷♂️

I prefer the classic hard rock Band-Maid over the AniMaid / frantic / overplaying / harmonizer version -- as good as the songs are -- like Protect You and Magie. No matter what songs they put out, they still grow on you, don't they? And heard live, standing in front of them (still too soon? ;-), the faster stuff is powerful and fun to be blasted with. 🤘😝
Rick, we old time rock and rollers immediately love this song when we hear it. You could call it a throwback, but you shouldn't though. The Maids put their own spin on any genre, no matter the era, and make it theirs. It then becomes fresh to our ears so we just call it Band-Maid Music.

Just love their music from this period 2016-2018. What I call their middle period. Early period 2014-15. Later period 2020-24. I Feel that the Conqueror album 2019 was a sort of transition album linking middle to the later more metal influenced material.
