Cuteness! And also... tasty. I'm mulling rabbits vs chickens for spring. I'll probably do both. Preparing a new fortified coop. This summer a family of foxes decimated all the chickens in the neighborhood. I'm not getting new birds until I can defend them properly. Same with bunnies.
I dont free feed. I only feed enough that it's gone before night fall. The problem is, mice like to eat the rabbit poop. I have tin cat traps all around, and they help a ton. Also, Merlin is a great mouser.
@GreenLadyUrbanFarm ok, I have started picking up food before night. So hopefully that helps. I worry about my rabbits getting sick from mouse droppings. I need to check out those traps. Thank you.

I honestly hate meat chickens. Messy smelly and loud. I keep the muscovy for meat and just a few chickens for eggs.
How do you combat the mice that the rabbit pellets attract? We get such a mouse problem!
