brilliant player, I have not seen anybody so far, with such free flow run through the opponent, quick agile and fit...ball possession was second to none...for as long as he played as though he reserved the rights to cover the midfield, passing the ball to either winger and wait at the top D with 3 or 4 opponents deployed only to restrict him making jobs easier for the wingers to come around...exceptional player mashaAllah... as soon as he retired Pakistan hockey came crumbling down like a house of cards and never recovered

After looking at his game Adolf hitler offered him Col position in Nazi army but he politely declined. Many times his stick was intentionally broken to see if there was a magnet inside. So imagine how good he was!! I wish I had played with him.

Legend of 1971 World Cup was Rasheed Junior, 1978 legend were Islah Uddin Siddiqui & Shahnaz Sheikh.1982 World Cup legends were Manzoor--ul-Hassan & Akhtar Rasool, and in 1994 World Cup the legend was Shahbaz Ahmed, a Magician like Shahnaz Sheikh. I have seen and personally met them. What glorious time it was!
