    Please Can WE do it on Eviews ?

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  2 года назад +1

      Hi Alexis, thanks for your message. Unfortunately EViews doesn't allow the DSGE environment. EViews allows for what they call "state space models". You can find literature associated to toy models. They are macroeconomic models, where you define as well equations and solve the model. I hope that clarifies/helps.
      Regards,
      Juan

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  2 года назад

      @@alexisnewton8602 I don’t think so. I’m not familiar with it. DSGE models are normally solved using Matlab-Dynare. Stata has been a recent thing. I don’t know how to estimate DSGE in other softwares other than Matlab/Dynare-Stata. Sorry

      @@JDEconomics Dear Juan, first of all, thank you for your all effort. I am so glad to reach your videos. I want to ask you this question that STATA 15 is available for doing this application the same as you did? Regards, Âlim

      @@alimsatim6568 Hi Alim. Stata 16 and posterior versions can estimate non linear DSGE models. Regards

    Really appreciate this. That's a great work. One question, what would be the difference between the DSGE and CGE models?
    Thanks a lot sir.

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  2 года назад +1

      Hey, I am not very familiar with CGE models. They focus more on long run, while dsge looks at business cycles fluctuations (short run). Regards, JD

    Great, Can you please explain how can we measure the business cycle?

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  2 года назад

      Hi, I will be talking about the data, filters, and parameters calibration in the next tutorial. I am not sure I understood well your questions, but we measure cycles with the GDP gap. The percentage deviation from trend is what indicates if we are above or below the trend. (expansion if above trend, contraction if below trend). Regards, JD

    what does observed and unobserved mean, why a state variable is unobserved,, I think consumption etc is obsevable

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  2 года назад

      Observed or unobserved is the wording Stata uses to define the variables that you are using real data for. You can only use as many observable variables as exostate variables you have. Regards

    Could someone explain to me if the observed control variables must be transformed by the user to be stationary? Or if that is already done by the command?

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  9 месяцев назад

      Hello, make sure to watch all the videos in the playlist. The observable variables are stationary as we have applied the HP filter. We are using the cycle (which is the percentage deviation from trend). Regards, JD

    Hello, I would like to know why k is an endogenous variable and not an unobserved variable. Thanks!

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  Год назад +1

      K is considered an exostate variable. Exostate variables are always unobserved. Exostate variables are those that are shocked. Regards
