I've had the 1.0 for two weeks now done nearly 1000 miles already, have to say fabulous I was slightly concerned the engine would be a little underpowered couldn't have been more wrong. I live in a very hilly area it deals with those hills brilliantly plenty of pull plenty of power, on the flat cruises very comfortably at 70mph with no overtaking issues at all I want power that little TCE engine responds, you don't need a sixth gear the 5 speed box is excellent and is more than adequate for this engine. After nearly 1000 miles the engine has bedded in very well and is running super smooth. Don't be put off by any negative comments on the 1.0 engine it really is excellent and will be perfect for most people looking to buy the new Captur. Well done Renault a superb package at a good price.
Average fuel consumption I’m getting in my area.... very hilly..... between 46 and 53 mpg. On a good run A and B roads I’ve had 57mpg for a 250 mile round trip,. Cruising at 70 mph on the motorway it’s doing between 50 and 55mpg. Urban driving around town usually drops to 46mpg. The results are better than Renaults official figures so I’m really pleased. I suppose it all depends on your style of driving as to how it performs..... I’m quite smooth on the roads don’t thrash the engine and I’m not forever on the brakes, in other words I'm a pretty efficient driver.
@@grahambird4135 Thanks for your answer. So your overall fuel consumption is around 50 mpg. That's a fantastic consumption! I don't like high speed driving. I prefer relaxed road trips. I'm planning to buy the LPG version. 👍
I want buy new captur with 1.0 tce 100hp mostly driving in town but once year i have long trip 4000km(across europe). My question if i drive 130km/h long time +1000km daily is problem with this engine it is 3500 rpm is problem dont have 6 gear? I consider buy 1.3tce 130hp but it is 3000€ cost more
I like this new Captur. It seems it has more than 100 cv....I thought three cylinder engines with 1-1,2 l would have reliability problems but two friends of mine have Focus with 1.0 engine. One of them has 150.000 kms and the other near of 180.000 and no problems at all....good test!!!!
Best car for his price, have better Front LED lights then other SUV in this category. 1.0 TCe engine is good enough for driving in the city and enough for the highway for not extremely long tracks THX for very good test.

I believe you made a mistake in this video with regards to the consumption at 80kmh. You did not have the highest gear to give the best fuel consumption. You have higher rpm at 80km than at 100. I really like your walkarounds and consumption at different speeds in your videos. It is one of the most important things which few reviewers point out. Constructive criticism
Great review my friend and i hope u keep up the good job. I am currently a 2020 Renault Captur II 1.0L TCe 100 LPG owner and the only bad spot is that there is no trip computer on this car :( . I have the Expression variant.
Seems pretty nice and also good fuel consumption for a SUV (especially compared to Hyundai). Also under full load it doesn't consume much, although it is a bit sluggish. I wonder how the lack of NM's feel compared to PSA'S 1.2 Puretech 100.
Mich würde der Test mit dem Tce 155 interessieren also mit 154 ps mit 1.3 l Motor denke aber vom handling sind sie wahrscheinlich gleich Was mich etwas stört sind die sehr lauten innengeräusche
I want buy new captur. I drive mostly in town but once in year i drive long autobanh trip 4000km across europe. If i drive on autobahn constan5ly 130-140km/h is that to much for this engine because is 3 cylinders? Is that short lifespan
It's not too much because of the size, 5th gear is a tad too short and it gets a bit noisy at that speed. At 3000 rpm it has 120km/h, Clio has longer gears and goes 135km/h at 3000 rpm.
There are even bigger cars with a 3-cyl engine without any problem. This engines have proved to be as reliable as any other are, always doing the right maintenance. As you see, it rides pretty nice for having 100hp.
Zoltán Kováč Well, a primitive design is not the best definition. In fact it’s the opposite, they are very modern and advanced engines. Take a look at the 100.000km test of the Ford Ecoboost 1.0.
@@JuanDomingoMartin Under "primitiv" i mean :no GDF and have indirect injection /no carboon problems/. Core of the motor is very simple. What is very good for city riding. This engine is very good.
@Juan Domingo Martin Ford has a design flaw in the first gens of 1.0 Ecoboost so it was overheating slightly. 1.0 TSI from VW does 350k km with no issues.
Nonsense just got my 1.0 fantastic little engine great on steep hills plenty of power to deal with them and cruises at 70 mph with ease, no need for 6th gear absolutely fine with 5 speed box. Can highly recommend the 1L.
