Wow, XO is incredible. I just got it myself. Loving this. The ability to find a sample you like and then arrow key through all of the samples that are similar to it is completely a life saver. What an ingenious plugin.
Whoa. She speaks. She talks! 😅 I think this is the first time I've heard your voice, not singing. Hope to see more BTS/production-related content in the future! :)
Would love to see a series of videos on how you’ve set up both hardware and software, what prerequisites you need, and whatnot. Kinda like; what does all those button do, kinda thing :) I don’t play any instrument myself but i love watching coherent, skilled people, explaining what they’re passionate about. It’s a beautiful thing. Keep being awesome 👍❤️
I know you made this video a long time ago but I love how you are just geeking out about all the different music equipment you have! You explained everything so well, I feel like I have learned something :D
One lesson I recently learned is to cut out the gear lust for tools that do the same thing (in a different way) that I can already do just as well with what I’ve got. I started out with Maschine and Push 2/Ableton as my primary tools, which covers all the bases already, but I kept chasing that shiny new thing. MPC Live was next, and I realized I’m not really gaining any new power - just redundancy. iPad and Deluge provides all the portable production power I’d ever need; so ended up returning Live and vowing to only buy new gear if it significantly adds to my overall setup capabilities.
How are you not massively famous! You are incredibly gifted and talented.I would really love to hear if you have written any songs for any of the top artists(you should be among them!)
this video is helpful in so many ways. we had a lot of this equipment on our wish list and added a few more items. super talented and you know your music gear too!
I found this very helpful. As someone who has wanted to get into composing music for a while but had no context on the instruments, I appreciate this very much.
Your skillz are next-level-freaking-amazeballs! You've got such an angelic voice, great playing skills and music production talent that would qualify you for Musical-Mensa. Sooo inspiring :)

Cool! Found your channel by accident and love all your stuff. About 20 years ago and even further back I tried to search for someone who could articulate what all the gear did. Needless to say with RUclips and people broadcasting themselves it has opened up a new world for anyone who is interested in a hobby and wanted to get into the weeds. MIDI has been around for so long but wow could it get complicated and things start getting wonky with different brands of equipment.
If you want volume automation, along with a lot of other automated effects, like reverse, chorus, pitch, among many others, check out the Gross Beat plugin. It's incredible. It blows Gatekeeper away in terms of functionality.
This was interesting cuz I've always wanted to know how this type of music was produced and a ballpark figure on how much it would cost. Me, at 67 years old, can't peck out twinkle, twinkle, little star on a keyboard which makes watching you preform all the more magical. I do love EM though. Saw the Floosies in St. Augustine last year and fell in love with it.
If you have an okay fast computer, you can use GarageBand (Mac) or pirate something for Windows. You can then draw in the notes, and use the built in electronic instruments. There you go, saved you $5000 :)
You are spectacular! Their equipment provides the best in music production. And you sing very well, good voice! It is also very beautiful. Success, you deserve it!
Your setup better fits for live performances, I guess. I've started investing into my setup, going with FL Studio (+ all plugins) and Arturia gear (KeyStep, BeatStep Pro, Pigments 2). I need to upgrade my CPU and buy a big display, that alone is at least $1000-$2000. Also on my list: Roland JD-XI, Waldorf Blofeld, some good headphones and mics. The biggest drawback is that I need time to learn how to use all that stuff...
The Seaboard Rise + Equator from Roli and the Roland JD-Xi are amazing workhorses, also a fan of Roli Blocks. I’m going plug-in and software shopping based on your list. Would love to see you release more original tracks - amazingly talented!
Hey Neon Vines! I had the HS80 when I started out and I would approve what you said, great pair of monitors! I do work as an acoustic engineer now and read a lot about speaker design and room acoustics and in my opinion you are better off with just one good pair of monitors and room treatment than many different ones. Take the one that colors the least and has the best waveguide (so it does not sound completely different when you move a bit left and right) and invest in those. For me it was the Neumann KH120, if you sell all of your speakers you could even get the sub with them for the same price! Love your art! Cheers!

Great great content for a properly modern music studio. OMG I have so much crap thats made redundant by a piece of software that does everything it does and so so much more.

"There is NO best DAW". I agree 100% with you! I use logic pro X because i really love it and feel comfortable on it, though i would like to try Cubase. Of course, Pro Tools is like the "standard" and mostly used in the music industry. But there are plenty producers that even use FL Studio, and Presonus Studio One (two). I believe David Guetta also uses Ableton and Logic Pro. 🤔 Anyway, it's like you said, if you feel good and if you find a DAW that works for you that's the one you should use. Logic Pro is exclusive to Mac though, so remember that.
Hi Neon Vines. I was looking for a new pair of monitor speakers because one of my old speaker got damaged. The Yamaha HS8 was a nice price compared with Adam's, so I bought them on your advice. However, I live in Sweden and there is a very annoying issue with the Yamaha HS8: They pick up cell phone (HF GSM interference). I read tons of other people experiencing the same - as soon as the mobilephone gets closer than 2meters, and you use the phone or it starts to transmit data to the telecom operator network, then you get a white-noise interference from the phone with the speakers due to the way Yamaha designed their amp's in the speakers. I never had this issue with my old monitors, so this was a surprise to me. I understand that many Telecom operators in the US are using other frequency bands (not GSM etc), and some articles about the issue seems to rule out a lot of US telecom carriers because of that. BUT - For Europeans, I think this will be a common issue in most of EU so think twice before buying these speakers. Or at least, get used to have a power-button close by to quickly turn the power off to the speakers to get that noise away...
Man, you look like you're 16 but as you talk I can tell you're much older. And your music is insanely good! Keep creating. The world needs more musicians like you! As far as CPU, any of the Intel chips w/ 10 cores or more should make those plugins operate smoothly. I can't imagine they're anywhere near the processing necessary for video editing, which is what I do. And perhaps there's a setting in the software that transfers some of the processing load to the GPU?
It’s not the software that it’s not a problem. Is to play the damn things. All those tasks at once ?? Woow your incredible girl. Me I’m going to sale all my instruments ever had. After seeing you play.
Man, i love Omnisphere as well! The CPU usage is indeed high but if you have a good pc you should be fine. But it depends on what you're doing i guess. 🤓
I used to work for Capitol record's and I still my Yamaha HS-8's and love them, but I need to expand my monitors as you suggested to get different a variety of reference during my mixing.
