  • Reduce noise and heat in your shop. In order to reduce noise and heat in my shop I remotely installed our vacuum pumps on our Anderson Selexx Router outside of the shop. This reduces the amount of noise in the shop as well as reduces the heat in shop. Very simple to complete the installation. Vacuum pump heat is a problem this is how I solved it. Keep your shop quiet to make it more comfortable to work in

    My customer did the same thing and had 10,000 hours on his pump because he didn't make a reminder tag to shut off vacuum pump. Good idea.

      Yeah that’s an issue when you don’t hear them running and only have a small light on the panel telling you they are on

    That looks like a set of Beckers, and those things are beasts. We had an injection molding client that had a specific set of operational parameters. Becker's app engineers were basically at our disposal for nearly a month, including doing things like running fluid dynamics simulations and finite-element analysis. I'm 100% sure those pumps will still be running while you're on an island enjoying retirement.
    Good call on those labels. They make label machines which you can heat-shrink onto the cables, essentially ensuring your always going to be good. What was that console you're using for your CNC?
    Just a few notes. That outdoor setup no longer qualifies as a compliant disconnect. They got rid of the "combined" exemption as of NEC 2020. Each individual device must now have its own individual disconnect within its own enclosure. What I would do would be (this is not advice- consult an electrican familiar with the latest NEC code in your region) -- 1: Replace the outside outlet with a IP67 GFCI, giving your passive protection for your pumps from damage due to the outdoor elements. Maybe $100 bucks and worth every penny. 2: 1 phase disconnect units are fairly cheap until you move into the ~250A range. You can find new-old-stock units for 30A for ~$100 a piece, made of 18, sometimes 16 gauge steel if you're lucky. Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, ABB, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens are all UL certified, A+ units. I know it sounds like a pain but there was probably a reason why they changed this code to begin with. (No idea what the specific is, I'm just a dumb mechanical enginerd)
    edit: oh damn, this is an absolutely terrific deal (listing: 115986722822 on ebay). If I had any commercial outfits, I'd purchase one of these just to have on hand. Anyways, good luck with your business man. I buy American, because that's the real way to make America great again ;)

    I'm considering to add a second pump to my cnc, do i need special electronic valves or anything? Or just simply hook both hoses to a splice pvc pipe?
    My second pump will have it's own switch because the cnc isn't wired up for 2 pumps

    • @derrekholland5207
      @derrekholland5207  Год назад

      Not sure. I think the pumps have a 1 way valve in them so you should be able to T it into the lid me

      @@derrekholland5207 no issues with vacuum drop on that distance?
      My pumps have a 63mm hose but i can't seem to find any fittings that size, what did you end up using?

    • @derrekholland5207
      @derrekholland5207  Год назад

      @@gerbdj1570 it might take about 2 seconds longer to reach full vacuum on my old machine. The Anderson has valves that I left close to machine so the black pipe is still Nader constant vacuum and the vacuum is almost instantly at full pressure when activated.
      All my fittings are pvc or Ana from Lowe’s

    Mr. Derrek, I just ordered a cnc and my salesman is fussing just a bit about having the pumps further away from the machine. Have you noticed a loss of vacuum at the machine?

    • @derrekholland5207
      @derrekholland5207  Год назад +1

      Zero issues with remote pumps. Anderson’s have a reserve tank on them. I’m theory it takes a few seconds to pull max vacuum but we have no loss of vacuum or airflow with properly sized pipes
