Tbh, I am also confused about the difference of being in "hysterical strength" and being in "quirk awakening", but I have different perspectives for it. For what I understand towards the difference of hysterical strength and quirk awakening, is that hysterical strength is more towards the person's strength than the quirk's manifestation, so much as Dabi can still fight even in skeleton, driven by sheer force of will. Example of this is the same as Uraraka's Zero Gravity Awakening, since she was driven by a sheer force of will (aka to save Toga, even at the verge of death). That is why Ochaco's Quirk Awakening not only disrupts her own weight limit, but also creates one new quirk factor. If I remember it correctly, Koda's Quirk Awakening is a simple quirk awakening due to how it changes an aspect of his quirk into a secondary level, the same as Toga's quirk awakening which also changes into a secondary level. Although Toga was dying, her will is just different as those towards I have mentioned, she only reflects on her own emotions, which she didn't build something that could count with Hysterical Strength (just by my own understanding), since if you differentiate it with Ochaco, Ochaco risks everything, and almost dying just to save Toga (a strong active will), while Toga reflects onto her own emotions which enhanced by Curious (a reflective passive will), which is why the two had different quirk awakening. The one that creates a new quirk property (Active Hysterical Strength), and the other manipulates the quirk property (Passive Hysterical Strength), that is why Toga's Quirk Awakening is more emotional and passive (demanded by "love") while Ochaco's Quirk Awakening is more physical and active (creates something). But, along with "Hysterical Strength", if a person was on the verge of dying, and in an underlying stress, their quirks manifest on a different level to the point it creates a new property, which is why with Dabi creates an ice inside him, Ochaco creates a literal electrical surge plus a bead of gravitational force, and Bakugo's hysterical awakening creates a small beads of sweat inside of his body. If I will point it onto a very unique way, Quirk Awakening are one-thing straightforward power up, which only depends on how active your mind and body can handle, this means if you have a stockpile, you can't have a quirk awakening, because quirks only manifest in singularity, and can only manifest further if that singularity was also interacted. Which in by a phrase "One Soul, One Quirk" (Combined Quirks are still considered as One Singular Quirks if people may taught of Shoto, it's HIS quirk (pun intended)) Anyways, this is just my perspective and what I understand towards the topic, feel free to correct me 😅
Invisible girl quirk was always a light refraction quirk that she should have been able to control, like when she was younger so hers is less of an awakening but more of a reverting to her natural state of control. A similar case is in the vigilante manga where the Mc had both an awakening and a reverting
Every Class 1A is mentions about Quirk Awakening except Jiro, Momo, Shoji, Sero, Sato, Ojiro and Mineta but Momo is shared with Kaminari and Class 1B is just Monoma, Tetsutetsu, Kuroiro, Shishida and Tsuburaba
11:35 If quirks develop when the children are like 4 or 5, she wouldn't be invisible as an infant. I think the glowing baby was the only one since it was 1st.
Mutant quirks exist which can exist from birth. Take Shoji for example, they have mutant quirk and were born with it. Mutant quirks are different and don't develop at 4 or 5 years of age like emitter or transformation quirks.
Plus some other quirks develop at different ages. Present Mic canonically was born with his and if I’m remembering correctly came out crying so loud that he bled/temporarily deafened the eardrums of everyone in the room at his birth, with his quirk being an emitter type
Not all of these are Quirk Awakenings. Quirk Awakenings are fundamental changes to the function of the quirk. Bakugo is a clear cut example. He could only cause explosions from his hand, but post Awakening, he could produce it from any point on his Body. The rest are 1 of 2 situations. A quirk is much like a muscle. Damage or prolonged and intensive use will cause the Quirk to increase in strength. Iida is a perfect example. His engine was damaged, so it regrew and became more powerful, but was functionally the same quirk. It did not change. The second situation is Hysterical Strength. Hysterical Strength is a real world phenomenon where when a human is put into a high intensity situation. This situation would cause adrenaline to pump into the individual and remove the natural limits the body places upon itself to prevent extreme usage. When paired with a Quirk, this would cause the Quirk to increase in strength to such a large degree that hidden aspects of the quirk, to weak and small to notice, would become apparent. So Dabi always had an Ice Quirk. It’s why his physical composition was best suited toward Ice and why he was able to replicate Shotos Phosphor (a pseudo quirk awakening) So, Dabi entered Hysterical Strength. His negligible Ice quirk gained a ton of strength to become apparent. Conversely, his flames also became much much stronger too. Shoto had a semi Quirk Awakening. While his quirk did not functionally change, a new function was added upon it being the phosphor function. Technically, that’s the endgame of his quirk. The strongest shape his quirk could take. It’s the usage of both his Ice and Fire at the same time, an issue he had been facing for a long while. Sure, his flames or ice did not fundamentally change, but there applications became different. It’s a really weird one So, to repeat, a Quirk Awakening is something that fundamentally changes the function of the Quirk, like Bakugo, Ochaco, and Toga. Any increase in strength outside of the Awakening is due to damage the quirk has taken/training, or due to hysterical strength. Iida is the Damage Quirk example due to his quirk getting stronger but not fundamentally changing. Dabi is the example of Hysterical Strength because it was due to that process that he grew in strength. Dabi is a very fringe case but I think another moment of Hysterical Strength, where the quirk went beyond its normal means was with Deku vs Muscular I forgot to mention but there is a third means for a quirk to grow stronger outside of Awakenings. Stockpile quirks become more and more potent the longer they last. This is like Eri and Deku. Usually a Stockpile quirk wouldn’t be able to Awaken due to its fundamental nature, but Deku is a special case as his quirks were inherently not meant to Stockpile.
Nice I agree to every word of this. Quirk awakenings are essentially just a new addition to better utilize the quirk. Some quirks like muscles can get stronger after damage. Hysterical strength yes that is the best way to describe it for Dabi. I do remember vocal pineapple had a theory of Dabi creating a thin layer of ice over his body to better utilize the flames. Just a thought but a cool thought.
@@Silvercomet251 sure. Koda is a perfect example. His quirk evolved in such a way that he could now convey emotions along with the traditional Disney princess powers he had.

You know there's something that I don't understand since the beginning of MHA, How is it that the *Pro-heroes* and Top Heroes of Japan never had their Quirks/Superpowers awakened and evolved despite having more than 10 years of training and hero experience while Teenagers like Class 1A/2A even the league of losers during the MVA arc with their powers had their powers awakened and evolved without years of training and hero experience??? Because remember the entire story takes place in 1 year before the timeskip Ending, My guess is it's due to the plot and it makes the grown adult *Pro-heroes* and Top Heroes look like a total disgrace relying on teenagers to do a Wayy better job than them and they actually do since they were the ones who took down the main villains like TRASH For One especially the three murdering stooges Tomura, Touya and Miss Stabby Pants. Lol
I think its because each generation has stronger quirks. When bakugo and friend fought the kids in the exam. They had super powerful quirks for their age, 1 kid shoot a canonball that did a great explosion. Consider that bakugo as a kid was able to juat produce sparkles. @@flotskryz But that's kinda weird because Again the league of losers had their powers awakened and evolved without years of training and experience since the *Pro-heroes* are in the same age range as them in their 20s and 30s even higher which is why some of them are Top Heroes of Japan for a good reason having experience being in near death situations but yet their powers haven't awakened and evolved despite having Powerful Powers too except for the teenagers and league of losers due to the plot so that Quirk Singularity theory doesn't make any sense since it's just a theory and they didn't properly didn't explain it well before MHA Ended.

dynamight’s is my favorite quirk awakening, i wonder if in the post time skip he’ll have better aerial movement and if he would ever wear & upgrade his world heroes mission outfit to generate more sweat and use cluster on his lower body like shoot style to possibly fly and create larger explosions especially because his arm isn’t the same as it used to be. it’d also be cool to see him use his cluster sweat beads in his grenades/dynamite sticks, his land mine blast attack, his stun grenade, his gauntlet blasts, & when he shoots off his gauntlets as missiles.
