The guy in front is cornering in a higher gear. All his gains are because of the corners and he's probably not got his motor revving as high.

Do you use a gear indicator or is it done from memory/feel?
Mainly you can just tell when to change but the dash does have rev counter and lights too.

no it was all 125's in this race.
Do you clutch on all down shifts and crash the ups?
no clutch used just lift off throttle and change up or down. hand over the clutch is in case I get out of shape or engine nips off throttle I can grab it quickly.
