Finishing a Front Closet with a CNC Router

- Our craftsman-style house came with empty closets. For my first major wood working and CNC router project, I decided to finish the front entry closet by adding craftsman/shaker-style boards along the backs and sides to support a shelf and the brackets for the clothes rod. I had to learn how to do edge banding, painting, and install into the closet.

You know, regular wood. I got a kick out of that! I'm sure you sometimes make stuff out of regular metal too. ;) Anyway, nice video. I think I have a bit more woodworking in my history than you but I take a very similar approach to designing things. I'm sure most handymen doing this kind of project are shaking their head incredulously. But I for one, love workmanship that was thought out from the beginning.

Yes, it certainly is. It was a lot less expensive than any of the other 4x8 routers I looked at. And I can take it apart and move it myself, which isn't true for the other ones.

Glade you used plywood over partical stuff.
Using dimensional lumber would have been easier, I'm sure. But where's the fun in that, right? Plus, using plywood allowed me to get the holes exactly where they needed to be.

The first thing I made on my lathe was some garden pegs out of 2x4 just so I could dial in the four jaw.
What’s the saying about anything worth engineering is worth over engineering? Anyway, this came out really nice, I may do the same thing in my closets.

Craftsman style. That one is not simple. In this case you may have wanted to replace the wallboard with cedar planks. Cedar repeals moths, which plagued the clothing of that time. But don't feel like this is some kind of diss, I've not done it to my walk-in yet either (it's been 10 years)...
