I bought a 2021 dark horse new 3 years ago. No issies in 18,000 miles. The 116 has all the power i need. With wife on back i go std, solo go to sport. Put bars off a vintage model, mustach and saddlebag crash bars before i topk it home. Have sonce did the quick release smoke windshield, back rest with luggage rack, Ultimate seat with rider backrest. Still impressed every time i ride it. If anyone ask why i bought a Indian i say "because is not a Harley"
I have been looking at this bike for a bit. Potentially going to get rid of the FTR for it. But can I say I subscribed to you man and I do not understand how you don’t have more subs. Your content quality is amazing. Beautiful camera work good audio love it bro!⚡️⚡️
I appreciate it! Glad you were able to get some useful information from the video. If I had it my way I’d have a million subs🤣 but now I’m one person closer thank you…it really does mean a lot I try my best to make it look good
I bought a 2016 springfield darkhorse with a couple thousand miles on it in 2020. I love this bike, i have had harley's,honda's, Yamaha's and others but the first time i rode this i was hooked. I pulled the min apes back about 25 degrees and i cxan ride all day without getting tired.this is the best bike indian makes, i did buy a scout bobber for in town riding and my daughter rides it with me on day trips
Great review ! Love the Springfield Dark Horse. I'm actually glad that they don't change too much from one year to the next. However, hope they come with the new 4 in Touchscreen like the ones we find in the new Chief line up.
A nice balanced, relaxing to watch review without getting over excited (as some do!). Beautiful motorcycle but very expensive over in the UK (more than Harley for some reason). Thanks you Sir.
Thank you so much for watching. That’s unfortunate with import prices and such. Hopefully you will be able to get your hands on one, if you are looking to buy one. It really is a fun motorcycle.
I have a 2020 Chieftain Darkhorse, but I really like the look of the SD thy are a great looking bike. Excellent review very detailed and informative. Cheers 🍺🍺🍺🍺🇳🇿
The clutch release was immediately as I opened my hand. However, you can adjust it to be farther out or to your liking. No special tools needed just a couple wrenches. The person that owned it previously must have liked it really close lol.
@ I just think its my favorite Indian in the lineup right now. In my mind certainly over the scout. Is it the 101 scout? But everyone’s feel for bikes is different. It’s just the best looking ride hands down. And performs great.
A single engine has the same torque despite being on different bike models. Horsepower; however, comes as a result of torque by rpm divided by a factor (this is content for another video). Each bike model would have different specs in terms of accessories, weight, drag etc. That means HP might be different in all bikes despite having the same engine. Basically the twisting force (torque) comes before the output (HP). BTW, I am on my second Indian Springfield. Thank you for the great video.
Love the style of the Springfield but not the Darkhorse version. The non Darkhorse needs the 116 too. As a 2023 Chieftain owner nothing less than the 116 will do as far as im concerned.
@@FinesseTheChallenger wow thank you so much for answering ill just continue to hold on to my man lol but we are in toledo and hes probably gonna pick one of these up..take care
@@carolgeorgeson9632 No problem at all, that’s the best part about riding two up IMO having the spouse/partner holding on😃. Enjoy the ride and safe travels🤙🏿
I thought these were dedication bikes to the late Bessie Stringfield. However, when I first learned about her, I thought her name was “Springfield”. Her first motorcycle was an Indian Scout at the age of 16, back in 1927. She was a very brave woman. God knows the evils she was subject to while traveling across America back then.
I love my Pursuit hands down over any other in the Indian Motorcycle lineup. However, I am looking for another bike and I want one on the 116 platform something smaller that I can have some fun on/with, and I am torn between a Sport Chief or the Springfield or who knows.....what is going to come out for 2024!!!? Long story short between the two Pursuit, but I really, really, like that Springfield...a lot.
If I were to ever purchase another Indian Motorcycle it would be this Motorcycle. However, I have found my happy in a 2022 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic 114.
I haven’t been on a Heritage but i’ve heard good things. As far as the Springfield this is one of my absolute favorite bikes.. they look good and ride good. I was all smiles while riding it, I’m a big fan of the 116 I just need to narrow down which bike I want that features the 116 🤣.
@@FinesseTheChallenger Btw, I have changed the Stock Handlebars for KST KUSTOMS Straight Jacket 16 " Apehanger Handlebars on my 2022 Heritage. Perfection

Hello sir my name is Slyde I want to purchase a Indian motorcycle can you tell me any cons I need to worry about and I’m also hearing after 3 to 4yrs of purchasing the bike you suppose to trade the Indian motorcycle in for a new. Since your so familiar with Indian motorcycle help me out thank you
Slyde, as far as cons go it really depends on what model you get each of them has advantages and disadvantages depending on what type of riding you like to do. As far as trading up 3 to 4 years after your purchase there is no need to do so unless you want to. There are many Indian Motorcycles on the road well over 3 or 4 years of ownership with lots of miles on them just make sure you follow the service plan for the bike just as you would for any motorcycle. As an example, @RickieKM has 50K miles on his bike and his latest video goes over issues he had during that time. Additionally, if you are into modding check out @TheBeardedBobber or @BrandonBicasso they both do frame-up mods and restorations, respectively. However, the best way to judge is to get out and test ride and talk to other owners about their experiences with the brand as well as the dealership network. Good luck in your search, if you join the family be sure to let us know what you decided on, and thanks for watching!
Bronze? The 2023 Elite? If that is the case don't think too long, they only make 175 of those for the year. Me personally, the Chieftain feels smaller more compact in my opinion when compared to the Springfield or the Challenger. I think that is in part due to the handlebar position between the Chieftain and Springfield. When looking at the Chieftain fairing versus the Challenger it feels cramped to me because of how close the Chieftain fairing is to the rider versus the Challenger. Additionally, I wanted more power, so I went with the 122hp Challenger/Pursuit. I would contact the dealership nearest you for a test ride or to see when the next Demo Day is and ride everything lol. The Chieftain is a solid machine, my wife loves hers!
I have a 2016 and i only have had it 3 yrs .this is a great bike., i ride abou t 1000 miles a month on it ,oil changes are easy and i have had no issues with 16k miles on her
Thank goodness I bought the 19 darkhorse, came with full tail break light and turn signals with LED and I also got mine with the adaptive front headlamps, this bike looks stripped down even though it has the 116. Come on Indian, don't start going the way of Harley
Of the lineup the Springfield DH and Scout are the only stripped down bikes that connect with the history of IMC. Sometimes , you will see that dealers add little bits and bobs because, it just looks good. However, I’m with you… I like the style and tech so hopefully IMC continues to blend that into their products.
I would prefer keys. People are easily stealing cars that are keyless now, i assume it will only be a matter of time before they do the same with bikes. If they are not already. Ive heard bad things about bikes being stolen during bike weeks.

I mean if they just base the hp and torque off the engine and not the rear wheel then the torque and hp numbers will remain the same for any bike

I agree, I wish the classic came in a 116… the wife and I were just talking bout that lol
Might be a dumb question but what is the strap between the seat?
That is the oh crap handle for a rear passenger… seriously tho, I think it is a handle if you’re not holding on to the rider🤷🏾♂️

I thought extended reach seats(syndicate) were basically just more padding for the passenger for 2 up riding. I’m still learning😂
🤣 that’s to stretch ya legs out for those 6’2”+ riders
I wish Indian offered stretched bags like HD used to with the exhaust cut-outs on their Specials.
The classic version of the Chieftain and Springfield have the cutouts in the rear…..the bags sit right at the edge of the exhaust, looks good IMO
