For Amelia

Part I of an extended series, "The Things You Have Left Behind"
The mission of this project is to document the details of life that are held on to after losing a loved one to the current overdose crisis. The aim is to put a face to the growing numbers, as the ripple effect that this disease causes proves that no one lost is ever truly forgotten.

Thank you for making this documentary - I think you are right on that by putting real faces and real stories to these events makes it harder to ignore, harder to turn away and easier to relate to.
Mrs. Kirk and Amelia's Family, I am so sorry for the grieving and pain that you go through on a daily basis. I hope that Amelia's story helps another suffering young adult and they can see the aftermath of their decisions before it is too late. Amelia was a beautiful young lady with a beautiful soul and it pains me that she didn't always see herself in that way - in the way that others saw her.
